"Not a mouse, a witch!" Even though Jackson had just bit her hand nearly off, the captain was smiling, teeth glinting white and red from the blood of her meal. She lunged at him, and it was now obvious she wasn't human.
"Not a mouse, a witch!" Even though Jackson had just bit her hand nearly off, the captain was smiling, teeth glinting white and red from the blood of her meal. She lunged at him, and it was now obvious she wasn't human.
His eyes widen as he flew up, out of reach of the Captain. He mentally came up with a plan how to hurt the Captain, but without killing her. He had many tricks he still had to play and he wasn’t going down without a battle.
"Why are you here, little witch?" the Captain cooed. She looked up at him, smirking.
"Don't you know it's dangerous to fight with a demon?"
Jackson laughed. Luckily, whenever he “shape-shifted” his voice changed. So he was never afraid of people finding out who he was. “Oh, I do. People say Demons are horrible and evil creatures. I say some are, some aren’t.” He smiled. “Why am I here? Ah, that’s a excellent question.”
"Orrible? Evil? Not me. I prefer to be a bit more civil than that. And you still haven't actually answered me." Captain looked Jackson up and down, as if trying to figure out who he was.
Jackson groaned and sighed. “I was. . Well. . you can say flying and I fell into the ship when I accidentally turned into a small rodent. And would you please stop looking at me like that? It’s like if you’re checking me out.”
"And what if I am?" Captain walked around, circling around Jackson from the deck.
"You liar. I would have sensed anything flying over the ship."
Jackson shuddered at the thought of the Captain checking him out. “Are you sure? You sure you’re senses aren’t off?” His eyes glowed a bright yellow and he grinned.
"I'm sure." The captain smirked.
"And I think I figured out who you are."
Jackson shrugged and looked at the Captain. He had “shape-shifted” to a random human a bit ago. He sighed and levitated himself from the ground a bit. A thing that no witch could thing. Which meant he was either half human or a demon possessing a human body. He looked into the Captain eyes. “Ah, Really?”
Captain wasn't faze by this.
"You're my brother's new pet. It's the only way to explain why I didn't notice your presence." Again, her eyes traveled over Jackson.
"But why you're up here is an entire different situation."
“You caught me red handed, Ma’am.” He materialized a pencil and started twirling it around. “If you’re trying to find out why I’m up here, you won’t be able to find out.” He looked up at the shining moon.
"Not the reason. Just if you have permision to. You're a pet, remember? You can't just do whatever you want."
Jackson sighed and his body looked like it was glowing. The moonlight was shining on him making anyone far from him think that he was glowing. “I just wanted to see the moon. Is that to much to ask?” He looked at the pencil and blue flames started burning the wooden pencil.
"Depends. Did Phillips say you could see the moon?" Captain rolled her eyes. Jackson obviously didn't understand what it meant to be a pet yet.
“Yes.” He said without hesitating and without looking at her. He hoped that the Captain wouldn’t be able to tell that was a lie. He looked into the ocean and immediately wished he was some sort of aquatic animal.
"You sure? Cause last I checked, Phillips had said in the past that he didn't like the idea of letting pets wander around on their own." Captain raised an eyebrow at Jackson.
"You sure you don't want to go talk to Phillips real quick?"
“The past is the past. He could’ve changed his mind, you never know.” He kept looking into the ocean and raised his head. “No, I don’t want to talk to my master.”
"My brother isn't the kind to change his mind." Captain sighed, going over to the railing at the side of the deck and looking out at the sea.
"I should know." There was a touch of sadness in her voice.
Jackson noticed the touch of sadness in her voice and turned to face her. “You sound. . sad. . “ He knew it was none of his business, but he couldn’t help to wonder why she said it like that.
"Hm?" Captain turned to glance at Jackson.
"Oh, it's nothing. See, I've got power over water, which is why it makes sense for me to be a pirate. Your master, though… he's a fire demon. Water'll do him in quicker than it would a human." She sighs.
"I told him to go get a job inland, but he refuses to leave me."
Jackson sighed. He could imagine the stubborn Phillips refusing to leave his sister’s side. Jackson chuckled as he looked up at the moon. “Well, maybe he just doesn’t want anything bad to happen to you.”
"Still, I'm the older sibling. It's my job to look after him, not the other way around." Captain rubbed her forehead.
"Mum and Da would come back from the dead to kill me themselves if they found out I let him get hurt."
Jackson shudders. “Well, it should be nice that the both of you are taking care of each other. It’s almost. . adorable.”
Captain chuckled, then whipped around, pointing a knife at him.
"Don't call me adorable. If anyone here is, it's you. Not. Me."
Jackson just looked at the knife and raised his eyebrows. “Really? Me?” Jackson shook his head, smiled and started laughing uncontrollably.
Captain rolled her eyes, putting her knife away.
"Why else do you think my brother didn't let me eat you? He likes cute things."
“Well, then. I’ll have to thank him again for that.” He looked up at the moon once again and yawned. He looked at the Captain and smiled. “It was.. .” He paused looking for the right word. “Fun talking to you, but I’m going to hit the hay.”
Captain nodded.
"I think this has been fun too. Just don't get into any trouble, alright?" She smirked, sashaying away.
"Good night!"
Jackson also grinned and before disappearing said; “I’ll try, Captain.” He smiled and turned into a mice to get to his spot.
