"Without a doubt." She could feel her heart flutter when she saw his smile but forced it away. There was no way she was falling for this guy. She had to keep him at an arms length just like everyone else.

“Nice!” He exclaimed, and his grin widened. Suddenly a voice was heard from down below on the ground.
“Jax! What the hell are you doing on the roof?!” It was the guy from the phone earlier.
Jax did jump a bit, but recovered quickly. “Just chilling, might jump if I’m bored.”
“I’m coming up there!”
Jax pouted

"Well, he sounds like a barrel of fun." She rolled her eyes with a giggle.

“I know right” he smiled at her mischievously. They could hear the other guy making his way up towards the roof.

"You chose to talk to him so you can only blame yourself for this." She pointed out with a smile.

He shrugged and leaned over the side of the roof. “Hurry up Dad!”
“Did you seriously just call me dad?”
Jax shrugged “do you prefer daddy?” You could hear the smirk in his voice.

Becca burst out laughing, nearly doubling over. "Please don't! The last thing I need is a rumor that you might be gay on top of everything else I have to deal with."

“Ah yes because the homosexuals are such a threat to our society.” He said sarcastically, he was still looking down over the side of the building so Becca couldn’t see his face.

"You know that's not what I meant!" She huffed dramatically.

“Yeah yeah whatever” he waved his hand dismissively as if he didn’t really care, but there was more tension then there had been in the conversation previously.

She sighed quietly. She didn't want that rumor both because of the fact that it'd make her job harder but also because she was starting to grow a tiny crush on him.

“Jesus finally!” Jax said as he helped the guy they’d been waiting for on to the roof. The guy was tall, with black slicked back hair and glasses. “Becca this is Ethan. Ethan, meet Becca”

"Wassup." She waved at him before pushing her hair out of her face.

He waved politely, he looked like the quiet nerdy type, so Heaven knows why he hung around Jax, and why Jax let Ethan boss him around.

"Okay, what's the catch? You seem too nice to be hanging around someone like Jax so something's up." She folded her arms, trying to avoid wincing.

“I keep him alive. Since as you can probably tell he’s too dumb to do it on his own.” Ethan said. Jax was nodding along in agreement until Ethan called him dumb.
“Hey! Jerk!” Jax exclaimed

She couldn't help but giggle. "Well, can't deny that, seems like he likes making life hard for everyone else around him trying to just keep him alive."

Jax gasped, whipping his head around to look at her. “Don’t take his side!!!!” He whined

"And why shouldn't I? Make me a convincing case and I might not!"

“He doesn’t have one” Ethan said calmly and Jax just glared at both of them.

"Aww, come on darling, you know you love me." She flashed him her innocent smile once again.

Jax just ducked behind Ethan like a kid. Ethan gave him a questioning look to which Jax just replied “she’s scary help”

"What? I'm not scary! Ethan, am I scary?" She looked at Ethan, shooting a look at Jax.

Ethan shrugged
“No Ethan don’t fall under her power! She’s evil! Ethan!”

"What power? What the hell are you talking about, ya nutcase?" She laughed.

“It’s the smile Ethan, don’t trust it” Jax said in a dramatic stage whisper.

"What smile? You mean this one?" She showed her innocent smile once again.

Jax hissed and hid behind Ethan’s legs.

She shook her head and looked up at Ethan. "Can you step aside for a moment? I need to deal with my client, he's being ridiculous."

“I would but I’m afraid it wouldn’t work.”
