"Well," Blake said, clapping his hands together briskly. "I for one am eager to get back in the loop, so if everyone knows where they'll be going, I can send you all on your merry ways now."
"Home. Home is good," Pluto said
He nodded, turning to Pluto and Mike. "I enjoyed working with you. See you another time."
Pluto nodded. "Yeah. You too pal."
"By the way, before I go," he said, eyeing Pluto. "Pluto never has been and never will be a planet. Do your research, you doorknob."
Pluto spluttered. Feathers bristling indignantly, she started waving her arms and yelling angrily in Russian
Mike laughed. "See you guys."
"And thank you," Blake added, lifting his hand. The scene began to fade. "I wish you all relatively pleasant lives."
Pluto's ranting was cut off, and she soon found herself falling onto the dingy couch in her apartment. She landed, scaring the absolute crap out of her roommate at the other end. Michael jumped off the couch, whipping around before realizing it was just Pluto. He started yelling a mile a minute. "Ohmygodwherethehellwereyouyou'vebeengoneforeverIhadtolivewithKazforthelast-" Pluto waved a hand.
"Please. Not now." He scowled at her before storming off. She sighed, flopping back onto the couch. Home. Finally.
Mike found himself in the mess hall, in his chair surrounded by the hunters. They leaped up in surprise, all shouting and talking, and it was a long time before he had a chance to leave and get some rest. He was glad to be back, but he would never forget the places he saw and the people he'd met. The next morning, he got up as usual and went back to work.
(should we maybe skip to when Lucifer starts going crazy bc of the parasite drug thing?)
(sure, that's fine. By the way, I'm not sure how Mike stays involved, does someone ask him to help, or maybe he feels personally threatened by Lucifer somehow? idk)
(maybe his is the first dimension that Lucifer goes after, but Mike ends up stopping him somehow so Lucifer moves onto a different dimension?)
(sweet, what's Lucifer's weakness? uhh or a temporary flaw in his plan which Mike could exploit?)
(Lucifer's emotional weakness is Mephistopheles, who was murdered by Asura billions of years ago. He still deeply cares for Mephisto, so maybe you could use that against him somehow. His physical weakness is having his magic depleted, or being stuck in human form)
(Hmm. Mike ain't no psychologist….so probably the physical weakness is a better bet. They have chemicals they can use to lock a demon in its human form, maybe one of those could work on him too?)
(idk? and I could probably use that so my medic can show up)
(yeah no matter how fast they take care of Lucifer there's bound to be injuries)
(that would probably work)
(and that's when I'll have an excuse for my sarcastic healing god to stomp through the wreckage)
(Ok lol I'll just dive right in then XD)
One morning, Mike woke up and instantly knew there was something wrong. He got dressed and went outside, staring at the sky.
"Morning, boss," Dodger called from across the camp. "What's up?"
He glanced at her distractedly. "Hey, do me a favor and tell Jacob not to take the chopper anywhere today."
"But wasn't there a mission for him at noon?"
"We'll do it tomorrow." Mike looked back at the sky, and at the valley below. "Something isn't right today."
Distantly, Cassiel lay curled at the bottom of a lake. Odd looking fish and sharks swam by him idly, and he frowned behind his mask. Something certainly seemed…off about the multiverse today, but he couldn't quite place it
(btw Lucifer is a white tiger looking thing without eyes, and instead of fur he's got feathers. He's about the size of like 4 school buses put together)
Lucifer crept around through a forest, sniffing the ground and growling. He left a trail of blue fire as he walked forward, and they engulfed the trees, flames reaching toward the cloudy sky.
(also quick info the jade causes blackening of the skin and weird cracks that glow green to form. it also turns the eyes a kind of lime green so that's a thing)
(gotcha) One of the lookouts saw the smoke from a distance and quickly radioed the base. "Hey, there's fire to the southwest! It's blue!"
Mike heard the news and instantly commanded everyone to gear up for a fight. "If it's a demon, we gotta take care of it. Bring tranqs, guns, and fireproof gear, and tell Jacob to rig the chopper for fire-fighting. Vincent, keep a dozen guys here to protect the base, and keep in touch. Let's go!"
The hunters piled into the fleet of army jeeps they kept and set out to intercept the fire.
Cassiel scowled. Something was definitely wrong. He swam through a construct of bright pink coral, his long snakelike body twisting and turning. He turned until he breached in a cave, where there was breathable air. He crawled out of the water, shaking his feathers a little as he slithered to what looked like a massive, broken computer. He scowled at it, debating whether or not to humor his instincts
Lucifer heard the people approaching. He growled, then roared, swinging his entire body around and collapsing several trees.
"Look out!" The jeeps screeched to a halt, and soon all the hunters had poured out and spread apart, weapons at the ready. Mike directed them to stay well back until they knew what this creature was up to.
"It's a rabid fire demon, has to be!" Archer shouted.
Mike squinted through the smoke and branches, shaking his head. "I don't think so. Take half the guys and start fighting the fire. The rest of you, start with your long-range tranqs, see if they work. Go!"
He charged toward the jeeps, stomping on a few with his foot in rage.
The hunters dove out of the way, firing their tranqs at him, trying to penetrate his thick feathers. One man was swatted into a tree and didn't get up–two others rushed to pull him out of danger. Mike took his own rifle and fired at the creature's throat, hoping that the feathers would be less dense in that area.
