(But doesn't Nik always transform when he sleeps? Or will being with his soulmate offer him some control?)
The night sounds, along with chatter from the guards around camp, rang through the otherwise silent noght.

The night sounds, along with chatter from the guards around camp, rang through the otherwise silent noght.
(He doesn't always transform, no. It's just a high likelihood that he will, and he doesn't want to risk it. Idk if being with Eclipse will give him control)
Nik slowly fell asleep, drooping down against Eclipse, exhausted. His last thought as he fell into sleep was hoping that the monster would not make an appearance.
Eclipse still slept peacefully, nestled against the other's side.
(Oki then… uhm.. do we want a quiet, or eventful night? Also where is the plot going now?)
Nik slept peacefully for a while, then his face crinkled up with fear, and he twitched. His skin darkened and turned almost scaly at his eyebrows and hands, fingers curving into sharp, hooked claws as shadowy wings pushed out from his back.
(GTG for a bit! Hopefully I'll be back)
Eclipse stirred at movement from the other, feeling the other changing against him he woke up completely, his eyes widening when he saw what was happening. Taking a deep breath he scooted away a little bit, watching apprehensively.
(alright!)
Eyes flashed open. For a moment, they were still golden. And then the whites turned black, and Nik's beautiful golden eyes were beautiful no more. The monster snarled at Eclipse, but didn't move to hurt him, merely stood and paced the cage. It turned to Eclipse and lunged, but the mark on its shoulder, the soulmate mark, glowed painfully bright and the monster leapt back, snarling in anger.
Eclipse held his ground when the other snarled at him, wary. He had to remind himself that Nik was still there as he watched the other, and he flinched when the other lunged for him, his hand suddenly glowing, bright as the monster fell back, he blinked in surprise, not sure what this meant. "Nik….?" he asked quietly, not sure if he was safe or not.
(I may have to go again soon, I have a thing tonight, though I am going early…)
(it's totally fine, don't worry about it)
The monster snarled, snapping its teeth at him. It flapped its wings, pacing the cage again. It still looked humanoid, but not quite human. Scales peeked out from the skin, and the wings seemed to be half shadow, half scale.
(So yeah, it's about 5 where I am now, I will officially vanish around 7)
Eclipse watched it carefully, studying it. Relaxing a little when he realized it wasn't attacking he studied it closely, admiring the creature's scales and wings. "Nik?" he asked again after several minutes, hopeful.
(alright)
The creature didn't respond. Whatever it was, it wasn't Nik. It might use his body, but it wasn't Nik that controlled it. The creature snarled as he examined the bars, sharp teeth clicking together as it closed its jaw.
Eclipse frowned softly, scooting back so he could rest against the bars, his hands still tied. "I know you can hear me." he said softly, eyes on the creature.
The creature looked at him, and snarled angrily. Just because it couldn't eat him didn't mean it didn't want to. It paced by the door of the cage, testing the bars and the hinges of the door, but didn't seem to be able to break it.
Eclipse hummed softly, "Listen… I know you probably really don't like me.. especially since you couldn't attack me…" he trailed off, looking for the right words to say. "But is it possible you can help me escape from here? And Nik too?"
(Eclipse be like; If it ain't gonna kill me, I may as well try to convince it to help me!)
(lol)
The creature snarled again. After a moment of silence, it finally said, "No." Its voice bore only a passing resemblance to Nik's, sounding rougher. Older, somehow. As if the words themselves were a snarl.
"Why not?" asked Eclipse calmly, "I mean, we both want freedom, I help you, you help me. I'll never bother you again unless it's on Nik's behalf."
"I won't have freedom. Just because i have not killed you doesn't mean I won't try again." the monster retorted.
"Why not?" asked Eclipse, "What's your side of the story then?" he looked up at the creature with genuine curiosity, ignoring the death threat.
The monster flapped its wings again, staring at Eclipse through flat golden eyes. "There are no sides. I am hungry. I know that if I remain, I will be sent to kill and eat to my heart's content. If I help with the escape, I will be controlled."
"Why are you always hungry?" asked Eclipse reasonably,Finding the other's answer to be logical, and fairly reasonable.
The monster blinked, claws scraping along the bars. It growled softly. "I do not know." it turned around, pacing the wall of the cage again.
"Do you ever feel.. well.. not hungry?" asked Eclipse, humming softly.
"No." the monster's voice was still rough, as if he didn't speak much. Which he didn't.
Eclipse hummed, "Do you think there might be some way to fix that, maybe?" he asked softly, unsure how he would react.
(i gtg to bed soon)
The monster tipped its head, watching him strangely. There were dark horns on his head, too, that curled down in front of his ears.
(Cool)
Eclipse hummed, "Would there ba any way I can help you, maybe make things better? A compromise?" he sighed, not sure if he was making any sense.
"Nikolas will not compromise." The monster growled, eyes narrowing.
"I can try to convince him" said Eclipse softly, "But the first thing you're gonna have to promise, is to not ever try to hurt those he cares about. That includes me, his guards, and anyone else close to him." he sighed, "He thinks it's his fault his mother died… he believes he's the monster. I know he's not, and I doubt you are either, I mean, monsters aren't reasonable."
