Aki was sleeping peacefully, curled protectively around Cas as they slept. Everything seemed peaceful in the world, the window barely cracked open to let the warm summer breeze in through the air. But that peaceful moment would not last. A shadow lurked into the room, the room cooling down as the figure pulled out knives, one for each of the royals.

Cas stirred a bit and yawned, opening his eyes after a few seconds. "Mmm… father…?" He asked sleepily, not recognizing the figure or able to discern it. He didn't seem to notice the knives yet, nor was he really awake enough to react to much.

The shadow froze in its movements, blending in perfectly with the background. Aki woke up, his eyes droopy and tired. "Mm… Baby? Go back to sleep it's-" he starts when he sees something lunge at them and he shoves Cas off the bed, catching the wrist of the attacker. He hisses in pain as he felt the other dig into his skin, his grip weakening. He shouts a spell, throwing the attacker off of him. He pants heavily, clutching his shoulder. He mutters another spell and light floods into the room revealing a figure cloaked in black, still reeling by Akis attack.

"Aki!" Cas cried out, terrified for the other. He was wide awake now, that was clear. He stood in front of the bed once he'd scrambled to his feet, separating the attacker from Aki. "You bastard! How dare you?!" He threw himself at the man, ready to fight, although he wasn't thinking about how he'd likely lose.

Aki pants heavily before his eyes widen. "Cas no!" He grabbed the other away, the knife slashing against his arm. His first priority was protecting Cas. He was pumped with adrenaline, panting heavily as he casts an immobilization spell, freezing the person in front of them. He trembled before falling onto his chest, breathing heavily.

"Aki!" He cried out again. He'd sustained a few cuts as well, including a thin, shallow one that lay across his throat. He knelt beside Aki when he noticed the intruder was temporarily frozen. "Guards!" He called, checking Aki's pulse worriedly. "Are you okay love? Please be okay…" The guards burst into the room and seized the man.

Aki shivered, blood pooling around him as he coughed weakly. "Y-yeah… Shoulder…" He whispers as he looked up at the other. He had made sure he was in his female form when the guards came in. His arm was bleeding, not as bad but bad all the same.

Cas covered the wound as best he could with his hands, applying pressure and trying to think on his feet. "U-Um…" He was going paler as he started panicking, but he tried to ignore it. Panic is not a luxury I can afford at the moment… He carefully picked Aki up bridal style and started running to the infirmary, ignoring the calls of the guards.

Aki bit his lip in pain as the other put pressure on the wound. Dark spots were dancing around is eyesight. "Cas…" He whispered as they ran. He felt lightheaded, and his body ached. He looked up at Cas for his eyes flutter shut.

"Shh, I-I've got you, love. I've got you. I… I-I'm getting help." He stammered anxiously, dark spots threatening to take over his own vision. He ran all the way to the infirmary and lay Aki on the table, too distressed to speak anymore.

Aki leans into the other, his breathing unsteady. He hissed in pain before nodding at the other before taking a deep breath. "Thank you." He whispers before smiling at the other. "I-It's okay…" He groaned in pain, passing out from blood loss.

"Rose!" Cas wailed desperately, looking over at the nurse by his side. She kept asking him questions while she tended to Aki, but he was in hysterics. He couldn't speak, he couldn't really see, and he could hardly breathe. Rose ushered him into a chair.

Aki's breathing was shaky, fast and shallow. His body twitched a few times, and Aki seemed to go still. Blood still dripped slowly from his wounds.

Cas slowly slid down the wall onto the ground, shaking violently and unable to breathe. Rose looked over at him worriedly, but stayed with Aki for the time being.

A small blue orb exits his chest, floating around a little bit before hovering in front of Cas. It hovered there for a moment before another blue orb appeared, then another, and another. It filled the room with gentle blue light, before hovering around Cas and Aki.

Cas stared at the orbs, briefly distracted from his panic only for it to return full force when it occurred to him that these orbs appearing might be a bad thing.

The orbs hover for a moment before entering Aki again. Aki gasps sharply, jolting out of the bed. He gags and coughs before looking around in fear. "Cas?"

"A… A-Aki…?" He stammered weakly, looking like he was about to pass out himself. Rose, upon seeing that Aki now seemed to be stable, knelt beside Cas to tend to him.

Aki coughed, his eyes shutting as he looked down slipping off the bed to stumble to Cas's side. He hugged Cas close, his eyes shutting a little bit.

"Hon, you need to calm down… What happened?" Rose asked Cas, who was still unable to respond. He just hugged Aki tightly, clearly shaking and still incoherent.

Aki held onto Cas as he tried to breathe properly. He rests a little kiss on his forehead before looking down at the other. "Cas… Love." He whispers. "Take your time to talk. It's okay, we're safe." He whispers.

Cas whimpered quietly, tears stinging his eyes as he looked up at Aki. "I-I… w… window… m-man… he had… h-had knives…" He stammered shakily.

Aki listened and nods, his eyes gentle as he only pulled Cas closer. He ran his hand through the others hair, muttering soft words.

"H-He hurt you…" Cas whispered into Aki's shoulder, his voice breaking. The man had obviously hurt Cas as well, which Rose was trying to tend to, but he hardly noticed.

Aki nods. "Yes… but I'm okay now. He's caught." He whispers as he cups the others cheeks. "Now let me take care of you." He murmurs.
