"Is there somewhere to go or something to do that would make you more comfortable?" Delia looked over at him and sat back up, propping herself on her arms, seeing that he was really not as relaxed as she was.

@gracehustle

She nodded, assuring him one more time, "We'll be al-." An alarm cut her off though and she both heard and felt what she guessed was an explosion with a terrified yelp.

@gracehustle

"What the hell was that," She said, her voice down to a whisper as her head whipped around the room. Leo seemed equally terrified and scrambled over to Delia's bed, shaking next to her as she grabbed her crutches and tried to get to her feet. Her gun was propped up against the bed and she grabbed it, keeping it ready while she stood up.

Another explosion came from the same direction, this one sounding a little louder and cutting off the sirens. Something or someone was here that was not friendly and was trying to either destroy the compound or kill someone.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"I don't know." Jay replied softly, holding his gun and looking at the door. He wanted to step out and see what was happening, but…he knew he shouldn't leave Delia alone.

@gracehustle

"It doesn't sound good, that's for sure." She made her way over to her pack and tossed it onto her bed while she watched the doors, opening it and setting Leo inside so he didn't run off. "It's alright buddy, we're ok," She tried to sooth Leo, "We're just going to see what happens, and get out of here if we need to so we're safe." Her hands were shaking though and she was clearly terrified by what was happening as she made sure her gun was loaded and off of safety.

@gracehustle

Delia pulled her pack onto her back after zipping up everything but a space for Leo's head to poke out. "Should we go see what's happening?" She asked as a third explosion echoed through the remainders of the compound. This one sounded further away though, towards where they had been exploring earlier in the day. "I don't like this…at all."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Leo whimpered again at the explosion, staring mournfully at Delia, whining again. Jay hesitated. "I don't know." he replied slowly. "It might be safer just to stay here."

@gracehustle

"Those explosions don't sound safe to me," She said, her voice containing a sharp bit of anger that was a side effect of her worry, "We should at least see what's making them. Then we can decide to hole up here or run."

@gracehustle

Delia motioned around and ignored Leo's louder whines, "You seemed to prove the point just minutes ago that we're trapped in here with your pacing. A hallway can at least provide somewhere to run and hide."

@gracehustle

"You can at least try to run out of the way though. Here we're sitting ducks," She shot back, getting more worried and in turn more angry. She heard the second half of his reply and was sure to remember that he was a trained soldier, someone who could probably kill her in hundreds of different ways. It made her think of him differently again, especially since he was supposed to be fighting against her and the humans.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Here we can defend the door!" Jay replied almost angrily. "There's no need to leave this room, unless you're trying to get us both killed!" He gestured to the door, looking at her. Leo whined again.

@gracehustle

Delia scowled and motioned to the door as well, arguing back, "Sure, this room is going to save us from whatever explosion making maniac is out there. Yup. Real smart to stay in one tiny room that can easily be burst in through not just through the door!" Another explosion shook the floors as they argued, this one surprisingly close again and even louder than the other ones.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"The walls make it a little easier to defend! Most attackers won't bother blasting the walls open, when there's a door they can use!" Jay retorted, clenching his jaw.

@gracehustle

"Oh yeah, those explosions really sound like they're going to use a door," She snapped, the sarcasm clear in her voice and her hand tightening around her gun as she shifted to a deep british voice to mock him, "Well now, since I'm an explosive, I can't just blast through that wall there, no no, I have to be proper and use the door to get to those people inside."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay gritted his teeth. "Fine. You wanna get real? We can't go out there with your leg busted like it is. You can't move fast enough, and you'll only be a liability if we have to move fast."

@gracehustle

Delia glared at him and motioned to the door, then at Leo on her back, her voice sharp, "I know very well how much of a liability I am at this moment. You get out of here, take Leo and get the hell away from this. Don't you dare play hero and try to keep me safe by staying a sitting duck." There was no way that she could keep up to them if they had to leave, Jay got that right, and she found that she cared more about them living than herself dying.

@gracehustle

"Yes you very easily can," She replied, still scared and turning her worry into anger that was clear in her voice. Another explosion made contact with the ground, this one slightly further away from them though. Whatever this was, it wasn't very precise or uniform with its hits. "You take this pack and Leo, and do whatever it takes to get away from here."

@gracehustle

Delia shook her head and paused before saying in the least strained voice she could manage, "I'm not staying in here, I'm following you guys out. We'll meet up somewhere since there is no way you guys are staying by my side. I won't let you."

@gracehustle

"How about the freeway," She suggested with a shaky sigh, really just itching to get him and Leo out of the zone of danger before they all got killed, "That way, if I don't make it, you'll have everything you need to do whatever and you can travel to wherever without much trouble."
