Gabriel goes to scoot for her, but overestimates the size of the fridge, falling down and less-than-gracefully catching himself and scrambling to his feet. His heart thumps and his cheeks turn a rosy red, even though nobody can see him.
Kissa stares into the nothingness. “Wow. That was an amazing descent, Gabe.”
Cage chokes on his water.
Silver grinned, sitting cross legged on the fridge in Gabriel's place and looked down at where she knew he was. "Gabriel. I'm not gonna bite you, for goodness sake. Were you here this whole time??"
"We hafta get some ice cream out when we get the chance." Miki whispered to Cage.
Gabriel nods, swallowing.
Kissa raises an eyebrow, moving Silver's wing forcefully so she could open the fridge and pull a few things out. "Gabriel, she can't see you nod, dummy." She closes the fridge door and sets her things on the island counter, resuming prep.
Cage watches her dice an onion, his eyes starting to water. "It's just…. so beautiful." He grabs Miki's arm and starts to fake sob.
Silver gave Kissa a shove with her wing. "Don't call him names, Kiss. That won't make him want to be visible." She jumped off the fridge and felt toward the area where Gabe had fallen. "Hey. Your ice cream is probably ready. Do you want to try it?"
Miki snorted and burst out laughing, wrapping an arm around Cage's shoulders and patting his head consolingly. "The most beautiful thing I've ever seen." she giggled.
Gabriel steps back, avoiding Silver's arms. "Um… Sure?" He quietly says.
Kissa shakes her head. "Wrong answer, Gabriel. They're trying to kill you."
Cage sits up, his eyes red and running. "OH OH, the ice cream."
Silver bent over laughing. "Gabriel, I'm not gonna hurt you, stop running away!"
Miki grinned and rolled her eyes. "You have the strangest relationship with your boy, Silver."
Gabriel pauses for a moment. “Did anyone else try the, umh, ice cream?”
Cage shrugs. “No. But it’ll be good.”
Kissa looks over her shoulder. “Gabriel’s never even had ice cream before and you guys are gonna ruin it for him.”
"Wait what?" Silver spun toward them. "He's never had real ice cream?" she darted toward the freezer. "Okay, nonono. He can't taste the nasty stuff until he's tried real ice cream. Do we have any normal kind in here?"
Miki stared at the empty spot she assumed Gabriel was in. "How have you never had ice cream before?"
Cage nods. “Yeah, but only vanilla.”
Gabriel stares at Miki, and Kissa answers for him. “He politely says no when people offer, or he’s not offered. Easy peasy. Also, why would villains want to feed you ice cream?”
"That's good enough." Silver snatched it out of the freezer and grabbed a spoon out of the drawer, plopping both on the counter. "Come here, Gabriel. Try this so you know what good ice cream tastes like."
Miki raised her eyebrows. "True. I guess eating ice cream doesn't fit in with the baddie vibe. But you've been with us for two years? Have we really never made Gabe eat ice cream in that time?"
Kissa shrugs. "No. He didn't know what it was, so he just avoided it. Right?" She looks over her shoulder to him and he gives her a small nod. "Told ya," She says, returning to her work.
Cage purses his lips. "wow. I can't believe you went two years avoiding ice cream. Must've been the worst two years of your life. Poor guy."
Silver waved at him frantically. "Come on, Gabe, please. You need to eat ice cream. This is really important."
Miki scooped herself up some of the bacon ice cream in a bowl and took her seat again. "Cage, I'm really scared."
Cage takes her spoon and dished himself out a bite, shoving it in his mouth. He slowly places it back onto the spoon with his tongue. "Miki, this was a mistake." He whispers.
Gabriel materializes, sitting next to Silver and taking the spoon, he takes a bite and closing his eyes and flinching from the cold.
"Yeah, it's cold. Don't get a brainfreeze." Silver said.
Miki watched him, her face a mixture of horror, fascination, and regret. "How bad is it?"
Gabriel keeps his eyes closed and swallows it. "Geez, it's freezing."
Kissa glances over to him. "Hey, wow, but somehow it got you to open your mouth."
Cage shivers, then coughs. "I think I just tasted the devil's toe jam."
Silver's jaw dropped and she started at him in shock, a disbelieving smile hovering around her lips. "Eat more." she said.
Miki cringed, slowly lifting a bite of the bacon ice cream to her tongue. She looked at Cage beseechingly as she set it in her mouth.

Cage stares at Miki in anticipation. "Well?"
Gabriel swallows his first bite and takes another, shivering again.
Kissa raises an eyebrow at him. "Just taking orders, huh? Do you actually like it?"
He glares, heaping more onto his spoon and taking a large bite, glaring at Kissa all the while. She scoffs.
(I UNDERSTAND DEAR IT'S OKAY I'M SO EXCITED YOU'RE BACK)
Miki pinched her eyes shut, letting the ice cream melt in her mouth before swallowing. "It's… like… one hundred percent bacon and one hundred percent ice cream at the same time." she peeked her eyes open. "But those two things should never be together."
Silver tipped her head back and laughed. "Oh good, I'm so glad you like real ice cream. That way it won't be ruined for you if this is nasty." and she grabbed the trail mix ice cream out of the freezer and plopped it in front of him. "Try that one."
Cage nods slowly. "Yeeah."
Kissa rolls her eyes, returning to the stove to continue supper. "Yuck."
Gabriel gulps, staring at the Trail Mix ice cream. His eyes raise to watch Miki and Cage go on about how nasty their other project is.
Miki shuddered and slowly pushed the bacon ice cream away. "Okay so that one was a miserable failure. Should we try the next one?"
"Please?" Silver whispered. "Just a leetle bite? I didn't let them blend the trail mix into a pulp. It's like the raisins and peanuts and stuff just in regular ice cream. It shouldn't be too bad."
Cage nods, shivering. "That was disgusting." He glances to Gabriel. "Good luck."
Gabriel stares at the ice cream. He gulps, then picks up his spoon, shoveling a small bite out. He stares at it for an entire minute before putting it into his mouth.
Miki and Silver both watched Gabriel try his ice cream. When he didn't say anything, Silver whispered, "Well…?"
He forces himself to swallow, though he wanted to spit it out. It tasted fine, but the texture was too weird. Especially with the chunks. He forces a believable nod. "Mmmn. Hm." He closes his eyes tightly.
Ah, brain freeze.
Silver squinted at him, feeling his heart rate spike.
"Really?" Miki cried. "Maybe we got one right, Cage!"
"No." Silver said quietly, still studying Gabe's face. "No, he doesn't like it."
Cage perks up, beaming. But after Silver's statement his smile fades. "Oh. Gabe what's wrong with it?"
Gabriel keeps his eyes closed, just knowing everyone is staring at him.
