“Holy…it’s like..” Briar reached out to touch the crumbling stone of the ruin’s walls, gingerly as though not to damage it. Curls of wild vinage cascaded down the walls like a plant waterfall. The girl looked out onto the horizon, seeing an array of pinks, purples, reds and oranges, tangoing to create the perfect dusk sky.
“Wow..” she breathed, her hazel eyes sparkling.

"Stop drinking before bed." Matt repeated from the floor. He brought a hand up to his head. "And stop speaking so loud."
Sam whipped around. "Who the hell…Oh. Oh no. I wasn't that drunk last night, was I?"

"Calm down, megaphone. I don't think we did the horizontal hanky-panky." Matt managed to sit up, still holding his hand against his temples.

Sam gave him a confused look before putting a hand on his head. "What? Where am I? Who the hell says horizontal…whatever you just said? Where are you from?" He walked over to a nearby desk and sat down since standing just made his headache worse
Orion was idly listening to the television as he puttered around his small kitchen. As he was making tea, the volume turned higher. You have been chosen for a once in a lifetime opportunity! Press your destination! Coming in he saw several images flit across the screen. A city of neon towers, a towering jungle forest, a rocky inlet, a river. When the images circled back around, thinking it a hoax, he tapped the jungle. In an instant he found himself surrounded by trees, with ruins in the distance, and the sweet, sticky smell of new growth.

"I'm from Texas." He groaned out. "And this is a motel… I think" He said, finally looking around and out the widow at the gleaming lights of intoxicating blues and pinks.
Thayer flipped through their tumblr, bored. Homework sucks. They didn’t want to do it.
Suddenly, an ad popped up. THE CHANCE OF A LIFETIME! PICK YOUR PERFECT DREAM DESTINATION!
They blinked. What…? Sheugging, they tapped the picture of a plant-filled island. Not like anything would happen…
A strange tingling sensation filled their entire body. Like it should hurt, but it didn’t. Bright lights, then a beach with a beautiful sunset.
Sam rubbed his eyes, frowning. "Lovely. Stuck in some acid trip motel however many miles from California," he grumbled. "At least it looks like a four star."
Asura blinked, looking up at the bright blue sky. His back ached from the uneven, rocky surface that he was laying on. He sat up, running a hand through his hair.
“Holy…” Briar turned around to see someone standing right beside her, shielding their eyes from the bright light.
She blushed awkwardly.
“Hello, there, stranger. I’m Briar. Briar Slateman.”

Calixto rushed around his small room, looking for a paper that had blown off his desk. Finding it, he picked it up and plopped back into his seat beside the computer. The screen was dark as if it were in sleep mode. He moved the mouse around and nothing seemed to be working. About to turn off the computer an ad popped up over the screen.

"What the hell?" he asked the computer, frustrated. His screen wasn't even a touch screen and his mouse wouldn't work. Rolling his eyes, he poked a random icon on the screen knowing it wouldn't work.
There was a sudden glow that filled the room with white. Cal felt himself fall forward but it wasn't on the sort carpet. It was on the dirt floor of a jungle. He faintly heard the chirping of birds in the background.
Something was definitely off about that ad…

“I-“ they spun. “I’m Thayer.” The girl seemed nice, but they didn’t let their guard down. This was weird. What am I doing here? What happened? Their eyes darted around wildly.

Matt got up and staggered over to the window to gaze out at the surrounding city. "Oh honey, we're defintely not in Texas…"

"Well I'd be able to tell if I could see past the damn lights," Sam said. He started to rummage through the various pockets of his trenchcoat. "Where…aha!" He pulled a pair of black, expensive-looking glasses with gold whorls along the arms. He put them on, blinking a few times as he tried to see past Matt out the window. "Not California, that's for certain."
Floyd’s eyes slowly opened, a brightness causing him to groan. He rubbed at his eyes, staying laced out on a hard surface for a moment longer before he pushed himself to sit up. He blinked a few times, glancing around at the rocky terrain, the sound of crashing waves in the distance. “Oh dear god, no,” he said, stumbling to his feet. How in god’s name did he get there? He was just in his apartment!
Looking around, the jungle looked quite beautiful. Plants full of life completely surrounded Cal as he stood up, brushing a bit of soil from his clothes. It was also quite warm. Looking down at his attire, he really wished he hadn't chosen to wear mostly black. Sighing, he took a full pan of the area. He could only see plants and trees in every direction. It seemed that there was no way possible to return home to his apartment. Sighing, he picked a random direction and began walking.
Orion looked around, eyes wide, tail flicking, and hand over his mouth. Turning in a slow circle, he tried to take it all it, and tripped over his tail, falling to the forest floor. Scenting, he picked up the scent of new moss and old stone, and decided to walk in that direction. Eventually he saw the pyramid like structure in the ruins. Climbing, he wondered what it would be like at the top. What could be smell? What could he see?!

Briar extended a hand to Thayer, a bright smile on her face.
“Uhm..it’s nice to meet you, I guess.”
After a few moments, he noticed broken pillars dotting in between the trees. They were definitely man-made. Following the broken structures, Cal came upon a stone pyramid. "Huh…" he said to himself. It kind of felt like one of those mystery novels came to life and sucked him right into the middle of an a jungle on an island. He sure hoped this wasn't an island… or that there was a way off at least.
Unfortunately, the light from the window still hurt Sam's eyes. "Close the curtains, would you? We've already established we aren't where we're supposed to be."
