Terra saw the strange creatures and froze, having a sudden feeling of these-things-will-kill-me-if-I-move. She glanced around, and spotted a door at the other end. She looked back at the door she came through, then realized that the three creatures had seen her.

The creatures paced towards her, bodies low. Guttural growls echoed from their throats. Sebastian thought quickly. He hadn't done this in a while. He hoped he still could. He charged around the corner. He leaped onto the back of the nearest creature and pressed his unloaded gun up to the soft part of its neck. "Sleep" He hissed, the words rolled off his tongue. He knew that the others wouldn't understand. Sebastian was the only living being on this plane of existence who could speak and understand the language. The creature slumped forward and passed out on the floor. Sebastian bounced and rolled off, hitting the wall and coming to a stop upside down.

Seeing the boy against the wall sent Terra into action. She ran toward on of the monsters, did a front handspring, and landed on it's head. Luckily, this one had horns she could grab onto. She held on and managed to get it to ram into the other two. She glanced at the furry body beneath her, and realized it looked like a lion.

The creature reared as Terra landed on its back. Sebastian pulled a trip-sling from the air and flicked it at the creatures legs. The third one however, charged directly at him. The one Terra was on tipped forward, its hind legs wrapped in the sling.

Sunny becomes impatient with Lique and Chess, she grabs anything she can find and starts throwing them. Chess dodges every single thing. Sunny, exhausted and beaten, fall to the floor and starts sobbing. "I give up… Just do it Chess, do whatever it is you want!"

The floor was coming up at her, fast. Terra rolled to the left off of the lion-deer-moose-thing.(It has antlers who cares right?) She tried to stand, only to fall back down, and feel a pain in her left leg. She looked back, realizing she had twisted it. Crap crap crap! How am I supposed to help now?! She carefully lifted her leg out of the hole, and looked around. She saw the third creature charging at the boy. She stood up, and limped toward him, grabbing the metal pole with her left hand. Here goes… She crept up behind the creature, and swung the pole, hitting it in the back of the head. It turned and growled, and then Terra realized it had scaly, armored skin. "Oh…crap…"

Sebastian grabbed the creatures horns and swung on them to the side. The creature twisted and fell. Running back to the others he yelled "We need to go! Now!" but to their suprise he didn't go to the doors rather he started back into the labs.

Chess' face grew uncharacteristically soft. He carefully put a hand on Sunny's shoulder, like it would burn him to touch her. "Would you prefer Lique over me?" He asked.

"I don't care anymore okay!" Enraged, Sunny throws Chess across the room and pins him against the wall. "Do you think I want to be in this situation! Do you think I want to be fighting you!" She lets go and falls back to the floor, bunching up and sobbing.

Chess coughed and wheezed for a while before responding. He chuckled while doing so and it made him sound more injured. "I don't think anyone would want to fight me Sunny, its not all about you." He sulked. "Besides, Lique has business to attend to and we need to do something." He looked down at Sunny and rubbed his neck. "I'll call off the creatures for now."

This was her chance, Sunny gets up and runs out of the room. When she is a safe enough distance away, she disappears again. Sunny didn't quite know where to go, she ended up appearing and she saw Sebastian and another girl. "Well, at least he can keep a promise…" She trails off, wiping the last of her tears away.

Sebastian saw Sunny and rushed over. "Are you okay, Sunny? What happened? Did you find Lique?"

"Yes, no and doesn't matter! Let's go!" She grabs both of them and they all disappear. When they appear again they are in a dark room. "Okay! now that no one actually knows where we are! Down to business, ummm, who is this?"

"No idea." Seb said glancing at Terra. "Also I'm serious Sunny, what happened? Chess is not to be fucked with, we need as much intel as we can get."

"I know they aren't to be fucked with! I worked with them for crying out loud! Anyway, we just had a not-so-civil conversation and then Chess said he'd call the creatures off for a little bit. Until Lique finishes whatever he is doing we only have as long as Chess gives us. If only i could talk to them both at once it would be SO much easier!" Sunny rants, then realises what she actually said. "And yes, I have worked with them before, but we aren't getting into that right now, when we get back to your corp I will explain, then I'll be off!" She turns back towards Seb. "Questions? No? Good! Let's go!" She goes to leave when Sebastian grabs her arm and pulls her back inside.

"Chess doesn't work with people, people work for him. Why would Liquor- sorry Lique- agree to do anything with him." Sebastians face was blank.

"Do remember, he is only 16! He doesn't know what he's doing!" Sunny says with a flicker of rage.

"Something would have convinced him to do it. Even 16 year olds have reasons." Seb said, something in his voice making it sound like he was accusing her.

"All I know is that Lique made a deal with him! Why do you sound like you think I'm at fault?!" The rage in Sunny's eyes turns to despair.

Seb shrugged and turned away.

Deeper in the labs, Lique crouched, panting. The figure in front of him kneeled and lifted his head with a long claw. "There you go. Free to talk to your old friend." It hissed, its voice dripping with malice. It pushed Lique backwards and stood, lighting up its patterns blue. The blue fur on its face revealing angry eyes and long fangs. It melted back into shadow, leaving Lique alone.

Sunny can sense something. "And THAT! Was our queue!" She disappears and comes back with a terrified Lique. "Oh darling! Why did you ever think working with him was a good idea!" She pulls Lique in.

Lique pushed her away. "We aren't friends anymore Sunny. I can take care of myself." He walked to the other side of the room and sat against the wall. The ornate tattoo around his neck stood out more the ever against pale skin. He rubbed hands together and refused to look at Sunny.

"Fine then, at least call off the creatures for good! Please?" Sunny begs.

Lique paused but nodded. He looked down at his hands, a long thin scar visible on his left palm.

"Lique, the scar?" Sunny walks towards him, he pulls away at first, but then decides to let her look at it. "What happened?" She grabs his hand in hers, when she lets go, the scar is no longer visible.

"Nothing." Lique said bluntly.
