He nodded. "True, but I don't think the pirates would be too keen on you setting their boat on fire."
He nodded. "True, but I don't think the pirates would be too keen on you setting their boat on fire."
Nick chuckled at that. "I suppose not, but I'm careful with it." He relaxed a little bit, closing his eyes.
"I know, I know…" Cas yawned and buried his face in Nick's chest. "I love you. Whatever happens, don't forget that."
Nick’s voice turned serious. “I won’t. I love you too.” He wrapped his arms around Cas.
Cas tucked his head under Nick's chin to sleep and muttered 'goodnight' before he dozed off.
It took several more minutes to fall asleep, but eventually he too was able to drift off.
Cas was awoken by the rocking of the boat. He groaned softly and huddled closer to Nick.
Nick peeled his eyes open. “What time is it?” he managed, his voice slightly raspy from sleep.
Cas shrugged. "Dunno… too early, I'm guessing."
“Ugh, I think I might be seasick…” he moaned, his stomach churning.
"Same, but don't throw up on me." Cas untangled himself from Nick, sighing.
“I’ll do my best not to,” Nick responded, trying for humor but it didn’t come off as he wanted it to with his roiling stomach.
Cas nodded, struggling to sit up with his hands bound as they were. "We gotta try to get these off… it makes cuddling pretty hard."
Nick frowned in agreement. “They’re too tight to wriggle out of, is there anything sharp we can use to cut them?”
"Not sure." Cas looked around their cell for something that might help, but he didn't immediately see anything.
Nick looked around as well, not finding anything. “I’ve never had my wrists tied together before, so I’m a bit out of ideas here,” he sighed.
Cas shrugged. "Me either. Are there any nails sticking out of the wall or anything?"
Nick studied the cell again, eyes narrowing. “Over there in the corner!” he exclaimed, glancing at the boy guarding them. He seemed to be taking a nap.
"Well, I dunno if I can reach it, but maybe you could try and get yours off and then help me with mine?" He suggested.
“Okay, I’ll do my best,” Nick replied, pushing himself off the bed and walking over, trying his best to cut off the ropes.
Cas watched him from the wooden 'bed' to see whether it would work.
Nick managed to weaken the bonds quite a bit before he cut his wrist. “It sort of worked…?” He turned to Cas with a sheepish sort of smile.
Cas sighed. "Maybe you could get out now that they're weaker?"
Nick nodded, wriggling his hands without much success at first. After several minutes, his hands were finally free. “Ha-ha!” he exclaimed.
"Nice!" Cas grinned and held his hands out to Nick. "D'you think you could untie me?"
“Ummm…I can try,” Nick mumbled, walking over to Cas. His wrist was bleeding a little.
"You good?" Cas glanced at Nick's wrist, but didn't withdraw his hands.
Nick glanced down, noticing the bleeding. It stung a bit, but he ignored it. “Yeah,” he replied. He untied Cas’s hands fairly quickly compared to how long it took him to untie his own.
Cas rubbed his own wrists when they were free. "You sure?"
Nick nodded stubbornly. “Yes, it’s fine,” he replied. “Though I suppose having a way to stop the bleeding would be nice.” He was looking for something they could use.
