"Hmm?" Cas looked back over at Nick. "Oh… yeah. It's kinda my thing."
"Hmm?" Cas looked back over at Nick. "Oh… yeah. It's kinda my thing."
“Do you want to go pet it or something?” Nick asked, glancing back at the cat.
"…Yeah, kinda." He turned to the cat and clicked his tongue, the cat immediately hopping up onto the table to get to him. He smiled softly, scratching behind its ears.
Nick watched. Cas really had a way with cats. It was adorable. “Aww it’s so cute,” he gushed, glancing at the cat now.
"Mhmm…" Cas mumbled absently, still petting the cat. It was purring loudly and seemed quite happy.
“Is it a stray?” Nick asked, looking back at Cas as if he knew. Maybe he did. He seemed to be the authority on cats, after all.
"Yeah. I've seen this one before." The cat rubbed up against Cas's arm and he picked it up, setting it on his shoulders.
“Did you give it a name?” Nick asked.
Cas shook his head. "I can now, though. Wanna help?"
“Of course!” Nick replied as he studied the cat. “Hmmm…what about Fluffy?” He realized he had probably suggested the most generic cat name.
"Mm… Maybe." Cas examined the cat, which was a brown tabby. "What are some brown things ?"
“Mud. Dirt. Chocolate. Wood. Shoes.” Nick listed out, trying to be helpful.
"Maybe not the best cat names… um…" Cas looked at the cat a little longer. "I dunno. Maybe something will come to us on the way."
“What about Maple?” Nick suggested. “Like the tree?”
"Hmm… I like it." Cas pet the cat gently. "Maple it is."
Nick beamed, glad to have been helpful. “Aww, Maple’s so cute!” He reached out to pet the cat.
Cas smiled softly. "Yep. We should really be on our way, though."
Nick nodded. "Right, but we still have to wait until twilight to find the man that lady was talking about."
"I know… I'm just really impatient." Cas sighed, starting to walk again.
"Well, you're going to have wait a bit," he responded with a small smirk.
Cas rolled his eyes. "Yeah, no shit. Doesn't make me any happier about it, though."
Nick laughed. "We don't have to just sit there and wait until twilight."
"I know, I know… hopefully time will fly." Cas sighed.
"Well, what do you want to do? We can do something fun so that it won't feel so long to wait," Nick suggested.
Cas shrugged. "We've already seen most of the stuff here. Any ideas?"
“Hmm…maybe we could take a nap?” Nick said with a small smile.
"Sounds good to me, but where?" He asked. "Are we going back to the castle?"
Nick shrugged. “We can. That’s what I was picturing, anyway.”
Cas nodded and turned around. "Could you lead? I'm terrible with directions."
“I’m not much better, but sure.” Nick began to lead the way.
