“Sure, makes sense,” Vida said, “but how are we going to do that?”
“Sure, makes sense,” Vida said, “but how are we going to do that?”
"What are they serving for breakfast?" Esmae was curious. It probably wouldn't be as good as her dads cooking, but she was hungry, so she would have to deal with it. He's strange. She couldn't put her finger on it, but there was just something about him.
Caleb took a drink of his water and listened to everyone else. "Wouldn't they have copies of everyone who was there? Maybe they would still be at the guild." They did have large room of information on things. It wouldn't be a surprise if they had a folder for everyone who was there.
"Ah, well they have sausages, potatoes, scrambled eggs… I'm not sure what all they have this morning, but you ought to find something to your liking," Cassius replied, folding his hands behind his back.
"Yeah, I'm sure there are records somewhere," Vida agreed, "but do any of you actually know how to access them? How do we get there? What if everything is gone?"
"Wasnt one of us a really good hacker?" Magnus piped in.
Sparrow smiled when Cyrus handed her a steaming mug. She blew in it softly before taking a sip and leaning against the cou tar, closing her eyes. "This day has turned to shit."
Katya thought for a moment before shrugging. She couldn't remember if there was or not.
"Y-yeah…" Cyrus sighed, stroking Sparrow's hair, "God, I wish those days could just be gone forever, but they keep following us, it seems."
After a few moments, he continued, "We've got this, though. We're smart and a good team, and we've got years of experience on our side. They messed with the wrong people."
Vida shook her head. "I don't know. I'm not even good at anything, so… Wait, are the records electronic anyway?"
"But its not like before, now we have families, kids to care for. I just dont want them to get hurt." She sighed
"It's too late for that," Cyrus sighed, referring to Esmae, "But we took care of them in far more dangerous times, and now they can somewhat take care of themselves. I think they'll be okay."
Cyrus's mouth etched into a slight frown. He had recently been thinking about discussing some things with Sparrow, like settling down for good, getting married, perhaps having biological kids. But things were starting to stir up again, and he didn't know if there would ever be an opportunity again, especially if things started to go awry.
Sparrow smiled and leaned against him. "You are too sweet." She said softly.
Nathan nodded. "I think so, that's what they said once, after the White Wings disbanded."
Cyrus smiled. "You flatter me, love."
He looked around the room.
"But yeah, I promise that we'll get Esmae back, okay? No matter what it takes."
"I didn't know that," Vida admitted, "but if that's the case, they'll be easier to access. Hey, why aren't we asking the adults for help? A lot of them are better at this stuff than we are, and I'm sure they'd appreciate any good ideas we have."
Katya nodded along. It would be better if they got the adults to help with this.
"Because they wont let us anywhere because of what happened with Esmae. I'm not going to sit around and have her be in pain wherever she is." Natah. Responded softly.
Sparrow smiled and walked back to the table. "I hope we find her."
Back at the Dark Gemini corporation, Thalis was in the workshop, supervising a couple modifications on a new thing. She received a message on her communication device and her lip turned up, newly pointed teeth poking through. "Its perfect." She breathed.
Esmae walked into the cafeteria, and many wonderful smells hit her. Her stomach slightly growled and her face turned a bit red. It was a normal thing, but she hated it. "Thank you for walking me here, but now I'm fine on my own." Esmae wanted to be alone, but knowing them, they would keep her under watch.
"I'm with Nathan on this one. Uriah already doesn't like me, so he probably wouldn't trust me to even help them get her. Plus, I think we are all capable enough to do this on our own." Caleb did think it was weird being with kids so much younger than him. But if it was for Esmae then he would live with it. They weren't awful kids either so he didn't mind.
"You're not suggesting we actually go out and find her, are you?" Vida asked, "I… honestly think that's a terrible idea. You think they want her to be suffering any more than we do? It'll be much better if we join forces."
Cyrus nodded. "We will."
"Oh, I believe it. But you're our guest here. It would be a shame for you to have to eat alone," Cassius replied, "Why don't I join you? Besides, where are you going to go when you're done? You're not even familiar with the place yet. Can't have you wandering around like a lost little lamb."
Thalia left the workshop and made her way to the cafeteria. She got in line and grabbed a breakfast sandwich along with yogurt and coffee and made her way to the corner.
Nathan shrugged. "At this point I'm nit sure what I'msuggesting. All I know is that we need to get her back.
Katya thought for a moment. Thye might be able to find her faster on their own, but given the last time, they tried something like that. She took a moment before speaking up, "Last time we tried something like this we ended up almost drowning to death."
Luna was almost half asleep at the table. She hadn't slept much since Esmea had been kidnapped, and it was starting to get to her.
"Why dint we try to find the old guild? I think I remember where it is and its bound to have equipment we can use." Magnus offered
Esmae sighed as she grabbed a tray for food. "Do whatever you like." She knew it would turn out like this. But why this guy? What was his rank in this company? Wouldn't they make a higher up watch her in case? She grabbed a plate and put some sausage and pancakes on it, and grabbed a glass of orange juice. "Do you know all the training I'll be doing today? And what exactly is the point of this training, what do you all want from me?" She knew she wouldn't get an answer, but it was worth asking just in case.
Uriah stood up to grab a cup of coffee for himself. "Luna, would you like some more?" He had a bad feeling about letting the kids go by themselves, but Caleb was there, hopefully if something happened this time he would be able to stop it. Hopefully. Uriah didn't have full faith in him. But he wasn't going to write him off completely, especially since he was Esmae's friend. "We don't know much about them, so it's hard to find a place to start."
Caleb, nodded as Vida talked. She did make some good points. He wasn't sure what the right way to go about this was. All he wanted was Esmae back. Everyone already could see how he felt about her, it was obvious. Even Esmae knew, but she thought it was mostly just a joke. "I wish I had more to say. But honestly, I'm not sure what the right way to go about this is."
(Sorry about disappearing.)
Luna looked up and gave a slight nod to Uriah. She needed some more coffee to wake up so she could keep looking for connections between the kidnapping and all the other shit in her life.
(Idkhow to move this forward, should I just make so it seems like they managed to find the old guild?)
(Sure. Sounds good to me.)
(….)
(Sorry, I went AWOL for a bit)
(That's okay. I've been so on and off lately.)
(Can someone else do the timeskip? I'll he fairly busy in the next week)
Caleb looked at the old guild with awe, it seemed.. smaller than he remembered. It had been a few years since they had been there. The plants were overgrown, and the building looked like it was haunted. "Is everyone ready?" He was actually excited. There was no one there to tell them what to do, so who knows what they'll find in here. Maybe something even Uriah and them don't know about.
Katya gave a slight shrug as she held herself in approach to the building recalling the last time they had come there, "Ready as ever I guess."
"Well then, we better get going." Caleb was the first to walk up to the door. He left like he was going slow motion as he reached out for the doorknob. He twisted it and pushed the door open. It was dark and silent. It really did feel like a haunted place, and he wouldn't be surprised if some homeless people were living here. "Think the power still works?"
"I doubt it," Katya responded holding tightly onto the bag she had with her. She was trying her hardest not to start muttering, "Feelfree to try."
