They managed to get back to the stable without any trouble and Cas put his horse back in its stall. "There. Now we can go back."
They managed to get back to the stable without any trouble and Cas put his horse back in its stall. "There. Now we can go back."
“Yeah, let’s go,” Nick agreed, leading Cas around to the same door that they had been using to sneak in and out.
Cas followed him in quietly and went up to his room with him, flopping down on the bed once they got there.
Nick smiled and copied him. “It feels nice to be back,” he remarked.
"Mhmm…" Cas stretched, wincing. "I might just lay here for the rest of the evening."
“Are you hungry? I can go get some food,” Nick offered, sitting up.
"Uh, sure. Food would be nice." Cas stayed where he was, but looked up at Nick.
“Okay, any requests?” Nick asked, thinking about what he would grab from the kitchens.
"Anything's fine. I'm not too picky." He turned onto his side to be more comfortable.
“Okay! I’ll be back soon!” he called and headed out quickly.
"Bye bye." Cas waved tiredly and pulled off his shirt once Nick left. He'd have to put on some more comfortable clothes, but that meant getting up.
Nick came back with some food, grinning. The cook had just given him some food, and he was starving. “I’m back~!” he singsonged.
"Yaaay…" Cas looked over at Nick, trying to see what he had. "What did you bring?"
“Bread, fruit, ham, vegetables, some sort of gray thing, and a cranberry sauce!” he said, looking in the bag the cook had given him.
"Cool." Cas forced himself into a sitting position, biting his lip to try and keep himself from wincing.
Nick brought the food over to him, setting it down next to Cas and getting on the other side of the food, digging in.
Cas picked up a piece of bread and absently nibbled at it, careful not to get crumbs on the bed. He shivered from not having his shirt on, but he didn't want to wear it again.
Nick noticed and looked at Cas. “Are you cold? I could help with that.” He did have fire powers, after all.
"Um… sure." Cas huddled up against Nick for warmth.
Nick smiled and put his arms around Cas, leaning against him. He hoped it helped.
"How come you get to always be warm?" Cas asked, huffing a bit as he tucked himself under Nick's arm.
“Because I’m just this hot naturally,” Nick responded with a grin, hoping Cas would catch the obvious double meaning.
Cas rolled his eyes, a faint blush rising to his cheeks. "You're an idiot sometimes."
“I try,” he joked, still grinning. “Besides, you walked right into that one.”
"I s'pose so…" Cas yawned, tucking his head under Nick's chin and gently kissing his neck.
Nick smiled and closed his eyes, still holding Cas. He was glad that today he didn’t actually any obligations, but the end of the festival was coming up all too quickly. In only days, it would end and everyone would be expected to go back to their home countries.
"I'm scared of what'll happen when we have to go home… my kingdom won't want to go without me." Cas said quietly, his voice hardly audible at all.
“Yeah, me too. Jane suggested that we pretend some pirates or someone kidnapped you and we rescued you, but I feel like your father wouldn’t buy it?” he said, listing one of her ideas.
"Mm. Probably not. He may be crazy, but he's not incredibly dense." Cas sighed. "I could always say I ran off, but I don't think that would go well."
“No, I don’t think it would. What if we actually got kidnapped by pirates? It might bring our fathers together, to save us….” Nick suggested.
