He shrugged, “small crushes here and there. Never really met any other kids until I got to high school or when Jacks brought home friends. Nothing was serious or long term.”

A smile quirked at his lips as he stared off into the distance. “Like I was flying. Free from restraints and expectations. I could be my weird self around you without feeling as if you judged or hated me. I love you for that. You just went along with my antics, you were someone who saw it as normal for me to be me not some family thing that had to be conditioned.”

He fixed his gaze on her and tugged her close, nuzzling into her neck. He wrapped the blankets around her. “Aw, is my kitty cat confessing her love for me again. That’s just adorable.” He kissed her neck and shoulders “I’ll forever love you Ness. I’ll forever care about you. No matter what you do, I’ll always be here, waiting to hold you safely in my arms.”

“It’s one of the only sane things I’ve said.” He replied, lips brushing against the nape of her neck

She giggled with a smile

“Is that a smile my dearest? That’s a good sign.” He smiled softly and kissed her head

She kissed his cheek

“I’m taking that as a yes.” He laughed softly

she nodded with a giggle barrying her head in the crock of his neck

He tucked her under his chin and lazily trailed his hand along her upper back, starting hum a soft tune.

She sighed in content " I love you" she whispered

"I love you more, my cat." he replied, trailing over the tattoo on her skin

She leaned up and kissed him gently

He kissed her back just as gently, his hand coming to rest at her sides.

She cupped his cheek stroking it with her thumb lovingly

He leaned into her hand with a soft sigh.

She nuzzled her nose against his

"that tickles, kitty." he laughed against her lip and gently flipped her over so that he was now on top of her

She giggled and smiled up at him

Brink smiled back and pressed kisses to her neck and shoulders,trailing down as far as her collar bone. He broke away gently and settled beside her, propping his head up on his hand. he caressed her body and kissed her temple "adorable cat."

"your such a tease" she giggled

He laughed softly and shook his head with a charming smile "I only finished what you started."

" I kissed you you assulted my neck" she said

"exactly." he grinned and kissed her lips. "there. is that better?" he murmured, tracing the shape of her lips with his thumb

" much" she giggled

He laughed softly and sat up completely, running a hand through his hair and taking a deep breath. "we should probably start making food for dinner. The kids will be back soon."
