Silas nodded. "I get it." He replied picking up his backpack. "Come on guys, lets go to the grove." He quickly grabbed Rouge's hand and Mason's arm, pulling them out the door.
Mason yelped as he was dragged out the door. Mason smirked "Oh, I see. You like her. That's cute. She obviously likes you back. I'll help you two if you need anything." Mason whispered to Silas.
Silas turned bright red. He smirked, gripping tighter to his new friend's hands. He beat his wings flying upward. He flew high and proud… and fast. He looked down at their faces. "What do you think of the view?" He shouted over the sound of the wind.
"A little scary but I like it!" Mason yelled back.
Silas let out a laugh, Shooting down towards the grove of trees. "Next Stop, the enchanted forest!" Silas shouted at the two.
Mason looked at the ground. He'd always wanted to fly. Now he was doing it he wanted to get down.
Silas came to an sudden stop, gently dropping the two onto the ground. "Sorry, I would've gotten down sooner, but I needed a clearing." He reasoned.
"All good." Mason said, leaning on a tree.
Silas smirked. "Okay man, I need to stretch though, my wings are cramped from the excess weight." He said flying up.
"Sorry, I coulda walked!" Mason said.
Silas dropped to the ground in front of him. "No way, we flew over a mile to get out here, it would end taken you over an hour to walk here. You can't really see the school out here." He said dropping onto the ground.
Mason shrugged. "So where are these trees?" He asked, brightening.
"What do you mean? You're standing right under one." He said pointing up to a golden leaved tree with green and red apples grew.
"Oh shi- right duh." Mason looked embarrassed and put his hand on the trunk.
Silas furrowed his brow. "Are you okay? You seem…flustered."
"Huh? No I'm fine." He lied.
"You sure?" He asked generally concerned. Silas' wings folded and he stood walking towards Mason.
"Yep!" Mason laughed nervously. "I just… Want to be distracted from how bad my life is right now."
Silas dropped the topic, he flew up to one of the branches inspecting the apples, pulling three green ones off. He tossed one at Mason. "Here, have one of these." He said with a grin.
"Thanks." Mason said, catching the apple. "Are you supposed to eat enchanted apples?"
"You can with the Green ones. Not the red." He said taking a bite out of the apple. "The red ones will give you awful hallucinations. The green ones help with focus, and strength." He said with a smile.
"Huh. Cool." Mason said, taking a bite and scanning the Grove, taking in every detail and storing it in his mind.
Silas smirked. "Or…was it the other way around…" He said in a teasing tone.
Mason made a choking sound and coughed a few times. "I hope that was a joke."
"Of course." Silas laughed. "You aren't gonna die. And anyways, you'd know as soon as you took a bite." He smiled.
Mason whined but didn't say anything. He took another bite and continued looking around. "It's so quiet out here."
"Yeah, I love it." He whispered falling on the grass.
"So much better than in the school. It is hell in there for me." Mason said, joining Silas in the grass
Silas laughed, looking up at the clouds. "What's so awful about it?"
