At this point Allie was mostly sure she’d lose, but she didn’t want to let Logan think she was aware of it because of her pride, so she kept going with a neutral expression.
Logan cocked an eyebrow at her. "Not going to admit defeat?" he asked, going again. He was dangerously close to the finish line; it would take a miracle for her to catch him.
“Never,” Allie replied, an expression of determination on her face. She smirked, trying to seem more confident than she actually was.
Logan grinned. "Hmm." He replied, making another move. He watched her. He was only a few spaces away from the finish.
Allie moved again. She was gaining, but not fast enough. She was still several spaces behind now. She smirked at Logan, but it was just for show.
Logan winked at her as he drew his next card, moving. There was now only one space between him and the finish line.
Allie did her best not to her confident air waver as she plucked another card and only moved one space. Awesome.
(gtg to bed. Good night!)
Logan drew again, and moved into the finish line. "I win!" He celebrated, smiling.
(night)
Allie sighed, pretending to be upset. “Okay, you beat me.”
Logan grinned at her. "Yes I did. For once." He chuckled softly, shaking his head a little.
“You better enjoy it, because it’s not going to happen again,” Allie warned, smiling now. “I’ll beat you next time.”
"Oh, I will. And we'll see about that." Logan replied with a grin, laughing softly and smirking. "I intend to enjoy every moment of victory." he winked, grinning still.
“Oh yeah?” Allie asked with a smirk. “Well, there won’t be many moments for you to enjoy then.”
He narrowed his eyes. "I get to enjoy it until next time you beat me. Which, depending, might be quite a lot of moments." He stuck out his tongue in a sassy way.
She laughed. “We’ll see about that,” she responded, leaning in a bit, her eyes issuing a challenge. She still sitting cross-legged on the bed, looking better than she had all day.
Logan grinned, also leaning a bit forward. "Oh? Are you challenging me to a rematch?" he asked, arching an eyebrow at her and grinning.
“You bet I am. You’re going down, Logan,” she challenged, not realizing how close they were getting.
Logan grinned, leaning just a little closer. "Am I?" he asked, eyes focused on hers. "Or are you? Is your reign finally ending?"
“That last time was a fluke. Beginner’s luck,” she responded looking into his eyes. Their noses were almost touching now.
He smirked. "Oh? You want to bet on that?" he replied challengingly, arching his eyebrow at her again. "Or are you just bluffing?"
“Your bravado won’t last long,” she predicted with a smirk of her own. “Not when I annihilate you.”
He smirked again. "Oh? And why are you so sure? Maybe I'll be the one to annihilate you."
She raised her eyebrows. “You wish.” She leaned in closer, so there was only the tiniest space between their noses.
"Mm." He smirked slightly, some tiny corner of his mind noticing how close they were, but ignoring it. "My wish is my command." He replied.
She giggled. “I’m going to pretend you didn’t just say that,” she said with a smirk. “Seriously though, I’m going to kick your ass.”
He laughed softly. "No you aren't. How do you intend to kick something so far away?" He smirked at her.
She raised an eyebrow in confusion. “Wait, are you saying you’re tall or something?”
He laughed. "Well, I'm that too. I mean my ass is over here, and you're stuck on the bed."
Allie rolled her eyes, trying not to blush. “I could so kick your ass if I wanted to.”
"Nah." He replied calmly, smirking. Their faces were still so, so close together.
