"Don't be so hard on yourself." Roman kissed him on the cheek. "It's okay now."
"Don't be so hard on yourself." Roman kissed him on the cheek. "It's okay now."
"But I have to be hard on myself… I deserve it. I don't deserve all your help." Virgil fidgeted anxiously with his hands.
"But you do deserve it! Virgil, though you may have started it, you don't have to fix it on your own. We're here for you." Roman whispered softly, pressing against Virgil.
"W-Why do I deserve it, though? I've just screwed everything up. I've done nothing to deserve help." He tugged on the hoodie strings a bit to hide himself more.
"You don't need to do anything to deserve help," Roman whispered encouragingly. "We love you and would do anything to help you, no matter what you've done."
Virgil glanced up at Roman, still not seeming convinced. "But… why? I… I-I hurt Thomas… I hurt you."
"Virgil, that doesn't matter." Roman kissed him gingerly on the forehead. "We've all hurt each other. But we forgive each other, right? Now, stop worrying."
"Sorry, worrying is kinda my thing…" Virgil drew his knees up to his chest and sighed.
"Don't apologize. It's okay." Roman cursed himself in his head at his words. How could he tell him to stop worrying? He's anxiety. He couldn't think of anything better to say, though.
Virgil nodded and crossed his arms over his knees, hiding his face in them. "It's really hard to relax… I'm… I'm trying, though…"
"It's alright. Just trying is making progress." Roman perked up, finally thinking of something. "How about we watch a movie? Something to get your mind off of it."
"Sure, Ro. What do you wanna watch?" Virgil asked, glad for the distraction.
"Oh, I don't know! There are so many good choices!" He grabbed Virgil's hand, standing up. "Come on, there's a bunch in my room!" He pulled Virgil along with him up to his room.
Virgil let Roman drag him off, examining the room when they reached it. "Your room is quite different than mine." He observed quietly as he looked at all the Disney posters.
Roman nodded in agreement. "Definitely way different." He pulled out his collection of movies from under his bed, which was massive, including mostly Disney movies.
"…Do you have Phantom of the Opera?" He asked, picking up a random movie.
Roman smiled. "Of course I do!" He dug through his collection and pulled it out. "Ta-da." He handed it over to Virgil. "You wanna watch it?"
Virgil nodded and curled up on the bed, assuming he was allowed to. He turned his head so he could see the t.v..
Roman popped in the DVD, turning on the tv, and cuddling up next to Virgil on the bed.
Virgil watched the movie quietly, but he seemed a bit more attentive and antsy when songs came on. He wanted to sing along, but he was afraid to with Roman there.
A song came on and Roman began to sing along, knowing the words by heart. A little ways through he noticed Virgil's wanting to join. "Come one, sing along," he encouraged, singing with a full and clear tone.
Virgil tentatively began to sing, his voice quiet and wavering at first, but growing more confident when Roman didn't make fun of him or anything. He harmonized with Roman well, and they sounded pretty good together.
Roman loved hearing Virgil's singing voice again, even though it was similar to his it had it's own distinct tone. They finished the song in beautiful harmony and Roman let out a little giggle.
Virgil blushed and looked away, hiding his face with his hood. "Y-You… um… you sound nice…" He said quietly.
"Of course I did, but you sounded wonderful." He laid his head on Virgil's lap. "You should sing more often."
He blushed harder, though he looked down at Roman instead of away. "I dunno… I don't typically like to sing in front of you guys. It doesn't fit the dark persona."
Roman shrugged. "You don't always have to be dark. A change once in a while is good."
"I mean, I guess so, but the 'dark edginess' protects me…" Virgil shrugged as well, tearing his eyes away from Roman.
Roman snuggled in closer with Virgil. "Well, I like the dark edginess, anyway."
"Thanks, I guess…" Virgil lay his head on Roman's shoulder, beginning to relax again.
