"Morning…" Cas yawned, still very slow and sleepy at the moment.
"Morning…" Cas yawned, still very slow and sleepy at the moment.
"Did you sleep well?" Nick asked, heavy with sleep as well.
"Mm…" He nodded a bit, trying to keep his eyes open.
"Still tired?" Nick teased. "Maybe we should get up and move around."
Cas wrapped his arms around Nick's neck, not really wanting to get up of his own accord.
Nick chuckled. “Or we can stay here for a bit longer.” He didn’t mind not getting up. He considered himself to be a morning person, but being here with Cas felt so nice.
"Cool… m'tired… morning's dumb…" He mumbled, nuzzling against Nick's chest tiredly.
Nick smiled at that. “Okay, whatever you say, love,” he said softly, relaxing again.
"Do we have to be up for anything? And by we I mean you, considering I'm still in hiding."
“Not for another hour,” Nick replied. “My dad wants to have a family breakfast. He thinks it’ll be a great ‘bonding’ exercise. I think it’ll be a good chance for him to compare me to Jane.” He rolled his eyes.
"Alright… You have fun with that. I'll probably go back to sleep." Cas yawned again and closed his eyes.
“I’ll be thinking about you the whole time,” Nick added, not moving yet. He didn’t like leaving Cas here by himself, but he knew he would have to again soon.
"I'm sure you'll be in my dreams…" He murmured before beginning to doze off again.
Nick smiled at that, his heart warming. Cas was literally the cutest person on earth, but Nick knew he’d balk at the thought. He waited a few minutes before reluctantly dragging himself out of bed and getting changed.
Cas huddled into the blankets in Nick's absence to keep warm. He mumbled something in his sleep, but it wasn't intelligible enough to decipher.
Nick got ready and headed out to his family breakfast. Another hour of hearing how he needed to shape up if he wanted to rule the kingdom and why couldn’t he be more like Jane. Yay.
Cas woke up after about half an hour and held Nix in his lap to keep himself calm while he waited for Nick to return.
Nick returned later looking annoyed, but his expression lifted the instant he saw Cas. “Hey, I’m back!”
"Hi, love." Cas set Nix down and got up, going over to hug Nick.
Nick hugged him back. “I missed you, even though I wasn’t away that long.”
"I missed you too…" Cas stood on his toes to softly kiss Nick.
Nick kissed him back. “Want to go do something today again?” he asked, not caring what they did, so long as Cas was with him.
"Sure, love. We already went swimming, um…" Cas thought for a moment. "I dunno. Any ideas?"
“Hmm…have you ever gone horseback riding?” he asked Cas after a moment of thought.
"Yes, I have, actually. It's quite fun." Cas hummed. "We own a fair amount of horses, so I've ridden a fair few."
“Do you want to do that, then?” Nick asked. “There’s probably a stable around here somewhere. We could borrow a couple of horses for a little bit.”
"Sure. We'll just have to hope we don't get recognized." Cas pulled away and stretched, yawning. "Do you have any riding clothes? I obviously don't have mine."
“Yeah, but once again, they’re probably too big,” Nick said. “I might have an old one that would fit you in the back of my drawer I only brought as a back-up.”
"Or some clothes from when you were like, nine, that you forgot to throw out?" Cas laughed a bit.
“I can’t say I do,” Nick replied. “I’m generally pretty organized. But Jane might have some old ones if my old riding clothes don’t work.” He shrugged with a slight smirk.
