Tolly sighed and tossed an arm over Cas' back. "Fine, fine, you win. Can you at least tell me if it's fancy or not? I wanna know if I should dress up."
Tolly sighed and tossed an arm over Cas' back. "Fine, fine, you win. Can you at least tell me if it's fancy or not? I wanna know if I should dress up."
He tilted his head "Kind of, just a nice dress shirk and slacks should be fine." He said, nuzzling into Tolly's hold.
Tolly grinned and kissed the top of his head as they meandered through the woods. "Thank you~"
He breathed a laugh "I don't know what you gained from knowing the restaurant was fancy but okay," Once they got back home, he pulled open the door and headed inside
"I gained the ability to not look like an idiot once we get there." Tolly followed him in, automatically stating to shuffle through his clothes once they got to their room.
Cas rolled his eyes and wrapped his arms around Tolly's waist "you're not an idiot, no matter what you wear or how you look." He let go after a few moments to look through his own clothes and pulled out a collards white shirt and black pants
Tolly rolled his eyes with a fond smile. "Says you. I think most of my professors would beg to differ." He yanked off the oversized shirt and shorts he had been wearing, replacing them with a completely undone button-up nd some surprisingly nice dress pants.
He shook his head "you're not an idiot," he insisted. He turned away to keep the blush that rose to his cheeks hidden as tolly changed. He changed into the shirt and pants and ran a hand through his hair, not carrying much that it was messy
Tolly raised a skeptical eyebrow, not that Cas could see, and groped around his bag for a belt. "Sure I'm not, baby. Whatever you wanna believe."
Cas sighed softly and looked up at tolly, still blushing "do you believe them?" He asked,
Tolly laughed like Cas was being funny. "Course I do. I'm not one for denying the facts, honey bunny. It's been 20 years of teachers telling me the same thing, I'm not gonna say they're all wrong."
Cas's brow furrowed in thought as he shook his head again "it's not fact if the support is untrue." He glanced away and made his way to the door "I'll meet you outside…" He muttered, lost in thought, *how could a teacher say that? Especially to Someone as smart as tolly?"
Tolly's smile, somewhat forced, slid off into a frown when Cas started to leave. "Hey, babe, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you with… with all this shit. I'll just shut up about it, okay? Just… please don't go."
He turned and leaned against the doorframe "I'm not upset, just confused. I'm in some of your classes, You're not an idiot. No teacher should say that about any student."
Tolly laughed. "Nah, it's… it's fine. I get worse every time I go home, it's no big deal." He buttoned up his shirt, needing something to do with his hands. "And it's not like they say I'm… an idiot. Not directly."
"yeah but still….how bad does it get at home?" He asked softly, looking up into Tolly's eyes
Tolly glanced away, turning to his shirt buttons to avoid Cas' eyes. "Just… the normal shit. Y'know?" It was painfully obvious that he was trying to downplay what happened.
Cas walked up to Tolly and tilted his head so he was forced to look him in the eyes "I know that you havn’t had the best famoly experiences, does it really get worse than this?” He asked softly, gently tapping at the scar beneath Tolly’s shirt
Tolly shivered at the touch, whining low in his throat as he tried to shift his gaze. It didn't work. "That was normally the… ah… the punishment. For being an idiot."
"you were just a kid…" His voice shallow in his throat, "is's not fair….it's not right." He dropped his hands to his side and looked away
"Nah. I was… I was more than just a kid, while this was going on." He bit his lip, plopping down on the bed. "My dad, he… he was with me for a long time. 'Til I left for college. The ones on my back are older, the ones here." He touched his chest, fingers ghosting over the circular burns and slashes that littered the skin. "Those are… recent."
"how recent?" Cas asked, voice breaking slightly as he sat beside Tolly. He took Tolly's hand and place them in his, needing to feel him close again
"Oh… maybe… five months. Six." He shrugged. "But that's not that same. That's… this one." He gently took Cas' hand and pressed it up against a jagged scar right above his hip. "From when I told him I was never coming back. The last one I let him give me was probably from a year ago. Maybe a year and a half."
Cas nodded and let out a shaky breath. He let his hand rest there for a while, hoping it dtdn't bother Tolly. He rested his head on his shoulder and shut his eyes
It didn't. Cas made him feel warm and happy, the idea of being hurt by him was completely alien. "Hey." Tolly took Cas' chin in his hand, gently tilting it up so they were eye to eye. "I'm okay. He can't hurt me anymore."
Cas nodded and leaned into Tolly's hand "I…I know." He sighed softly and pressed a kiss to his palm "none of that makes you any less smarter than anyone else."
Toly blushed, taking Cas' hand so he could kiss the back of it like the prince from some kind of fairytale. "I know. I'm not stupid cause he hit me, he hit me cause I'm stupid. I just… I don't understand a lot of what they talk about."
"that doesn't make you stupid Tolly," he said desperately "you're a smart individual, just because you don't get something doesn't mean youtcan't learn about it," he reached up with his free hand that was around his waist and stroked his hair "plus, half of what they say couldn't be that important."
"Well my test scores beg to differ, but… I've made peace with it Cas. My best is a solid B, that's nothing for me to be ashamed of." He leaned forward to kiss Cas softly. "It's okay for me to not be the smartest, you do get that right?"
He nodded and kissed Tolly back "I know, and thas's ceetainly nothing to anything but proud of bit it's not right when you bring yourself down because of what others say. If you know that you're smart then screw what everyone else has to say. As long as you're happy with your effort"
