“Ok then if you want some alone time,” she said tempted to kiss Aurelie on the cheek but she knew she shouldn’t. She really shouldn’t do any of this but here she is. “What do you want to do first?”

“I don’t know, I’m a bit hungry though, so maybe we could find some food?” she suggested excitedly.

"Ok, what are you in the mood for? The festival has almost everything!" She said looking around at all the stands.

“I don’t know, something warm?” she said, taking in the aromas of herbs and spices which mingled with freshly baked bread and tender meats.

Cat nodded looking around at all the carts. She didn’t want to test her luck with merchants that she may or may not have stolen from so she smiled softly at Aurelie. “Ok follow me,” She said leading her by hand deeper into town

Aurelie smiled. This was all an adventure before. She hadn’t ordered food from most of the venders here for fear of being recognized, but it smelling amazing. She was awed at the bright colors and the homely, but careful, way many of the stalls were set up.

Cat led her to a small pastry stand that had all kinds of hot pastries, sandwiches, and fresh pizza.

Aurelie breathed in the savory aroma, glancing at Cat happily. “This all smells so good,” she commented, surveying the food.

”glad to hear. This stand is from my favorite bakery. What would you like?” she asked. Her eyes wandered around the crowd.

“A sweet roll sounds good, or maybe a sandwich? No, definitely a sandwich,” she decided.

Cat nodded. "That sounds great!" She positioned them in the smallish line. "What kind of sandwich?"

“Turkey and swiss sounds amazing right now,” Aurelie commented. “What are you going to get?”

”I’ll get the same thing, ” she said. One more person stood in front of them.

"Do you have any plans for today, or we just going to wander around until we tire of it?" Aurelie asked, her hazel eyes shining with excitement. Her hair, which was in a bun today, had loose strands around her face that had fallen.

”Mainly just wander around. I have to check in with a few people around town though but that's for later, ” she explained. When it was their turn she told the baker their order and went to get her money.

"Oh my goodness you mean like your friends? Can I meet them?" she fired off, beaming. Her excitement was almost palpable. "If that's okay with you, I mean."

”of course you can meet them! But not all of them will be my friends a few are just… acquaintances. They probably won't recognize you so we can still go with the fellow maid facade, ” She said whispering the last part after she paid for the food and handed Aurelie her sandwich. ”come on I know where we can sit and eat.”

"Okay!" she exclaimed cheerfully, her cheeks a bit flushed with excitement.

Cat walked towards a small alleyway. One of the buildings was short and boxes stacked against the wall looked like stairs. She started walking up with them with ease. She looked over her shoulder at the princess.

Aurelie followed with less grace than one would expect a princess to have. “Where are we going?” she asked, trying not to stumble.

"You'll see," she says as they get closer to the roof. It was a flat roof with a few chairs facing the town. They weren't high up but they were high enough to see most of the town.

Aurelie caught her breath. “Wow, the view from up here is amazing,” she commented, her eyes wide to take everything in.

Cat’s smile widened as she glanced at Aurelie. ”It really is, ” she said sitting down on one of the chairs.

Aurelie sat down in another one, plopping herself down. She began to eat her sandwich.

Cat unwrapped and are her sandwich. She heard someone else climb up. "Gatti!" A girl yelled when Cat turned around. She was actually glad for the embarrassing nickname.
"Hey, Linn!" Cat said using the other girl's fake name so she knew to use hers.

Aurelie turned with a smile. “Is this one of your friends?” she asked Cat.

Cat glanced between Aurelie and Linn. ”oh yeah! Linn this is Mary she works with me in the castle and Mary this is my friend Linn, ” Cat said smiling softly trying to hide her nerves.

“Nice to meet you,” she said to Linn, smiling.

”so what are you two doing up here?” Linn Asked looking at Ava with a raised eyebrow.

“Just eating sandwiches,” Aurelie replied, slightly relieved that it was true. She blushed slightly.
