"Oh…" Cas fell silent, seeming tense and fidgety.
"Oh…" Cas fell silent, seeming tense and fidgety.
"Hey," he let his arms fall to his side and he lowered his head to meet the other's gaze, "are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah, I'm… I'm okay…" He said softly, looking up at Sorin. "I just… don't like the idea of it…"
"Oh, God…" Sorin put a hand on his shoulder and began to rub the side of his arm. "I'm so sorry. I… shouldn't have said anything."
"It's fine, love… I'm the one who asked." He smiled weakly to try and reassure Sorin, but he still seemed a bit unsettled.
"True, but I could've at least sugarcoated it for you…" He felt guilty for making him feel uncomfortable, but it seemed that the only thing he did right was not speak of the horrors that go on within the demon's residence.
Cas shrugged. "Then you wouldn't have really been truthful."
He felt guilty knowing that's what he was doing now– but he was doing the right thing not telling him about the picture… or Shen. "Yeah, but… it would've prevented you from getting hurt."
"I'm not hurt… I just don't like the idea of nekos being essentially enslaved." He shrugged, looking away again. "It's not a nice thought…"
"I know. I don't either but…" There's nothing that can be done about it.
"Yeah…" He fell silent once more, thinking.
Sorin only looked at him, regretting his decision to tell him in the first place. "Do you… Do you need me to get you anything? Or…"
Cas shook his head, but he hugged Sorin anyways. "Just you…"
He wrapped his arms around him, hugging him tightly and lowered his head to brush his nose against the top of his. "I'm sorry it's that way, babe and I honestly wish there was something I could do about it."
He nodded a bit. "It's not your fault, love… you're not on their side…"
"If only I hadn't left… a lot of them would still be here."
Cas wasn't quite sure how to respond to that. He couldn't say for sure, but honestly, Sorin could be right.
His mind began to wander as he continued, "Then maybe… maybe if I leave…" he held onto Cas tighter and nuzzled his hair. "You could be safe."
"No, baby, please don't leave." Cas hugged him tighter. "I need you."
"I'm not leaving. It was… just a thought…"
"I need you to stay here with me, baby… I love you…" He continued begging, wanting to make for absolute certain that Sorin wouldn't leave him.
"I know you do and like I said, I'm not leaving you…"
"I-I know, but I need to make sure… I couldn't bear to lose you, baby…" He pressed a few light kisses to Sorin's cheek and jaw.
"I can't bare to lose you either, Cas…" Sorin brought his hand up to the side of his face and lowered his head to kiss his brow.
Cas nodded shakily, closing his eyes again. "I… I don't know what I'd do without you…"
"I'm sure you'll do fine," he reassured. "Casper, I think you're capable enough to take care of yourself if i'm not here. You don't need me to do so."
"I mean, technically speaking, yeah… I would just likely be incredibly emotionally unstable to the point of barely being able to function."
"I mean, there's plenty of other people out there who you can be with and perhaps you'll find someone much better."
"No… I don't want anyone but you!" Cas said earnestly, gripping Sorin tighter. "There isn't anyone better!"
Sorin shook his head, flashing a small, reassuring smile on his lips. "There's seven billion people on this planet… trust me when I say there is."
