Delila chuckled. She nodded. "Yes, I did. Lovely man named Mr Williams. He's dead now, of course." She replied.
Delila chuckled. She nodded. "Yes, I did. Lovely man named Mr Williams. He's dead now, of course." She replied.
“What was it like?” She asked hesitantly, tilting her head and leaning forwards in her seat.
"Being married? Or him dying?" Delila asked, looking at Arabella curiously.
"Being married. Your marriage. What did it feel like? Did you cry during the wedding?" She tilted her head in curiosity, genuinely wondering what a 'normal' marriage. was like.
"It was…lovely." Delila replied slowly. "I…cried beforehand. I was happy." she smiled, eyes going distant as she remembered.
Arabella’s expression was hard to read. She was a mixture of whirlwind emotions. Happy tears… “Did you like your wedding dress? I really liked mine.”
"Oh, yes. My family didn't have much money, but it was beautiful all the same." Delila replied. "I still have it somewhere."
“I’d love to see it sometime. I have mine at home too. When you come over I’ll show it to you.” Arabella said quietly.
"Alright. I'll find it for next time, alright?" Delila replied with a smile.
Asher was quiet, looking down at his hands.
“That sounds wonderful.” She said softly, smiling politely. She gently took one of Asher’s hands and gave it a gentle squeeze. “I’ll never forget my wedding. It was quite extravagant. And beautiful.”
Delila smiled. "Alright."
Asher looked over at her, and gave her a small smile. "You're welcome." he replied softly.
Arabella blushed lightly at his smile and hid her face away from him with a small giggle. “Asher planned it well. Thank you…”
Delila nodded. "Mm, I'm sure he did." she replied with a smile.
Asher nodded a little.
Arabella shifted nervously, looking at Delila with a small smile. “May I ask about where you’ve been?”
Delila smiled. "Oh, that's a good question. I've actually been to quite a few places. I lived in Europe for a few years. France and Spain, specifically.*
She grinned at the mention of France. “Oh!? How was it? Did you like France? Did you like Spain more?”
Delila smiled. "Well, they were both absolutely beautiful." She replied, thinking of the two countries. "I don't think I could pick one over the other, they were both amazing."
“France sounds romantic. I’ve always been a rather hopeless romantic.” She let out a soft chuckle and tilted her head. “But I’ve heard Spain is absolutely gorgeous!”
Delila nodded. "Yes, they both are." She replied. "Paris is…ah, Paris was wonderful. And Spain is indeed beautiful."
“It sounds beautiful. I’ve seen a few photos. I haven’t been too far away from home, I had rather strict parents.” She admitted with a sigh.
Delila nodded sympathetically. "Yes. Well, ask your little husband there. Not like he doesn't have the money to take you." She chuckled.
Asher smiled a little. "If you want to go to Europe, Arabella, then of course we can."
Arabella’s eyes widened and she shook her head rather violently. “Oh! I couldn’t ask that of you, Asher.” She took his hands gently and rubbed her thumbs across the backs of them. “We could go for a vacation some day, how about that?” She asked gently, blushing lightly.
Asher smiled. "I didn't mean move. I meant we can turn the honeymoon into a twoparter. First where you wanted, then Europe?" He shrugged.
“Oh.” She blushed a little more at the thought, tilting her head up at him. “Isn’t that too much to ask for? I don’t want to be a hassle.”
Asher smiled, and kissed her gently. "Of course not. It's no problem." He replied. "Besides, it'll be fun."
Arabella slid closer to him and buried her face in his chest. “Stop making me blush so much.” She complained playfully, laughing. “It would be really fun… if we can do that, then let’s do it.”
Asher chuckled. "Alright. That's what we'll do, then." He replied with a smile.
She grinned happily and gently pressed a kiss to his cheek. "Thank you Asher. I would love that very much."
Asher smiled at her. "Alright." he looked at Delila. "Apologies, that was probably rude." he said with a soft laugh.
Delila shook her head. "Nothing to be sorry for. Just bring me back a souvenir, alright?"
Arabella laughed softly at Delila's comment and nodded. "I'll bring you back something. What would you like?"
