"Yeah, it's just… cards…" He said softly, toying with the crust of his toast.
"Yeah, it's just… cards…" He said softly, toying with the crust of his toast.
"The cards? The ones I use to teach you?"
Cas nodded, still fidgeting nervously. He really wasn't feeling another session like yesterday.
"Oh Cas," he leaned forward and placed a hand on his shoulder. "We don't have to do it today if you don't want to."
"R-Really? You mean it?" Cas looked up at Sorin hopefully.
"Of course. We can continue whenever you're ready to learn again," he gave him a small, reassuring smile.
"Thanks, love…" He kissed Sorin softly. "It just stresses me out and makes me feel stupid, you know?"
Sorin took a hold of his hand and lightly pressed his lips against his knuckles. "Well, you aren't stupid."
Cas just shrugged and turned his gaze away. He enjoyed the feeling of Sorin's hands on his, but that didn't change the fact that he felt stupid.
"You know," his eyes made it's way directly to his, "I really… I really don't like it when you talk about yourself in such a way…"
Cas turned his ears back and looked down, feeling guilty. "I-I know, and I'm sorry, but… I can't stop myself from feeling that way…"
"You don't have to apologize, I understand that you can't help it… but I can't help but feel…" Sorin stayed silent for a moment, struggling to find the right words to say. "It just hurts."
"I'm sorry…" He whispered despite Sorin telling him not to apologize. He felt bad for upsetting Sorin, of course, but he couldn't exactly help it.
He let go of his hand, only to cup his cheek. "You don't have to apologize," he said in almost a whisper.
"But I do. I've upset you." Cas still couldn't meet Sorin's eyes.
"Cas," he sighed and placed his finger under his chin, lifting his head up to look at him. "You don't. You really don't."
Cas closed his eyes, his lip quivering a bit. "B-But… you… you're upset, though…"
"Hey, no," He felt a twinge of guilt and wrapped his arms around Cas, planting a kiss on the top of his head. "I… I'm sorry."
Cas nestled himself under Sorin's chin and shook his head. "Y-You haven't done anything wrong…"
"I don't want you to start crying because of me…" He rubbed the side of his arm, planting another kiss on the top of his head.
"I'll… I'll try not to…" Cas laughed weakly and buried his face in Sorin's shoulder. "I'm only upset because I upset you…"
"I know you didn't mean to… but i'm not, like, mad or anything…"
Cas nodded a bit, wrapping his arms around Sorin's neck. "I'm sorry for being such a baby…"
Sorin shook his head and sighed deeply. "You're not a baby, Cas…"
"I kinda am, though… figuratively and literally."
He pursed his lips and shook his head. "Hmm, I don't think so."
"I'm fifteen and I look like I'm twelve or eleven or something. I'm kinda tiny."
"You're not that small," Sorin emitted a soft chuckle. "Have you not seen Daniel? The guy's twenty-two and he's nearly your height."
Cas shrugged. "He's a little taller, and I'm not likely to grow any more. I was even tinier when I was a kid."
"Awww," he couldn't help but laugh, though he quickly silenced himself and shook his head. "I'm sorry."
