"That means we gave to go north and visit the Chailen Library. The biggest and most dangerous place in all the north. It is easy to get lost in the twisting maze of shelves but the spells and enchantment set on many books can take our lives." Amaris said, producing a map from her bag and pointing to the location.

“Just the way I want to leave this world,” Quentin said sarcastically. “By reading.”

“How are we going to get there? I’m sure something like that wouldn’t allow us to just teleport in,” Lorelei added.

@StarkSpangledMayflower_Mad_Elder

'they have Barriers surrounding the place, extremely strong ones at that, but it is possible to teleport outside the barrier and walk inside. They can let us in if we have a valid reason or if we manage to answer three questions of theirs properly.' Cato spelled.

"Reading one of those books will allow you to gain some information." Amaris replied. "Maybe that way you can understand what we are talking about." She looked at Quentin with a smile before turning back to the map.

"You could… I dunno, just teleport to the outside then walk in…" Adella offered up quietly, pointing to a map on the wall.

Quentin scoffed. “Or maybe you can be the one to die when you open a magic book. There are some things that you can’t learn from merely reading about them,” he retorted, hand on his hip.

Maple looked at Adella, "Would that work? Or are there barriers on the outside too?" She asked looking back at Risa.

"If you transport far enough away, it shouldn't be a problem." Adella ran a hand through her hair, not noticing her brother behind her with a glare to the others.

@ShadeStar

"Huh," Indigo thought for a moment, "Never tried that."

"You got bored after trying to teleport straight in after the fifth try," Lilac told Indigo, "Even though I told you to not go straight in."

@StarkSpangledMayflower_Mad_Elder

"Maybe reading something will allow you to realize that they mark the books with enchantments and can open them for you if you ask nicely, but I think that will be too much of a struggle for you." She snapped

'I've read that they have enchantment inside and out so you cannot teleport from inside the library and you cannot teleport to the library.'

@MusicElle-is-here

Quentin smirked. “Oh I can ask nicely,” he replied, his tone going from pure annoyance to seductive and velvety.

Lorelei made a face at that. “So are there are kind of tests or barriers once we’re inside, besides the books themselves?”

Maple looked slightly confused at what Quentin said, which made sense because she was quite oblivious most of the time.

"Librarians. I know one of them, but he's not that friendly." Adella muttered, tongue out in thought.

@MusicElle-is-here

Quentin simply smirked. “Don’t be jealous, princess~”

Lorelei rolled her eyes at him. “Is there a way we can get a leg up on this library thing or are we going to have to go in semi-blind?”

@MusicElle-is-here

(you mean lorelei’s question? i think i worded that a bit weirdly lol, but i meant like do any of them have a connection or know something that would give them an edge to getting to the books without dying or anything?)

Deleted user

"Oh… Uh, bookworms! They love to eat those things if you can find any." Adella held her hand up, the librarain had told her that the books loved those animals.

@StarkSpangledMayflower_Mad_Elder

(Oh ok lol)

Amaris nodded. "I was told a while ago that all enchanted books have a special marking on them. To read them you have to take them to any librarians and they will open it. You wont get hurt that way." She responded frowning.

@MusicElle-is-here

Lorelei nodded. “Okay,” she replied. “Easy peasy.” She was clearly not entirely serious about the last remark. She thought about how they would manage to get in and out safely, trying to help formulate a plan.

@ShadeStar

Indigo raised an eyebrow to her last comment and correction. Clearly this girl own cared about her own parents, but she understood that much, "Okay. Let's go then."

@MusicElle-is-here

Lorelei nodded in agreement. “I hate to think of our parents held captive by some mystery people,” she said with a slight shudder.

“None of us even know whether they’re alive,” Quentin added hauntingly.

@StarkSpangledMayflower_Mad_Elder

"Quentin shut up before I make you." Amaris groaned, folding up the map and putting it back in her bag.

Cato chuckled and started walking towards the shadows. 'I can take a person or two through the shadows if you did not like the spell Indigo used.' he spelled looking at the grouo

@MusicElle-is-here

Quentin snickered. “Ooh I’m so threatened, princess,” he taunted. “You’re going to make me shut my mouth. Is it by putting your mouth on mine, perhaps?”

Lorelei looked at Cato. “Can I come with you?” she asked him, remembering the trip here with a frown.

"Me and Adella can use our own magic. It's a bit wonky so it affects others transport spells." Adyn said.

@StarkSpangledMayflower_Mad_Elder

Cato nodded and lifted a hand, gesturing for her to stand in the shadows

Amaris chanted a spell lowly and a glass of water appeared in her hand. She smirked and threw it at him, drenching him. "That made you quiet dod it not?"

@MusicElle-is-here

Lorelei did as Cato instructed, stepping into the shadows with a bit of apprehension that she hid fairly well.

“Oh water, I am so incredibly threatened,” Quentin said sarcastically, with an eye roll.

@StarkSpangledMayflower_Mad_Elder

Amaris smirked and the water became freezing. "Have fun!" She said in a sing song voice before heading to Cato. "Let's go?" She asked.

Cato nodded and black sand started enveloping the three figures. He snapped a finger and they found themselves in darkness. "Hold tight." He said.

Amaris couldn't hide her shock and looked in the direction she thought he was. "You can talk? I thought you were mute!" She exclaimed. She heard a sigh before a clearing of the throat and he started speaking again.
"Selective mute." He said. "Only talk…small groups."

@MusicElle-is-here

Quentin flipped Amaris off as a parting gesture, angry at the fact he was now freezing cold. And he couldn’t do anything about it besides glare.

Lorelei’s eyes widened when Cato talked, and she nodded her head to his explanation.
