"I'm aware of that," Charlotte replied, walking around with her eyes glued to the ground.
"I'm aware of that," Charlotte replied, walking around with her eyes glued to the ground.
Aster nodded, and started looking around as well.
Quinn started looking too.
Charlotte sighed nervously, crossing her arms.
Quinn yelped as he nearly fell into a dip, stumbling back.
Charlotte whirled around with a soft gasp. "Gods, are you alright?"
Quinn nodded, grimacing. "Fine. I slipped." he replied sheepishly. "But on the plus side, I found a portal."
Charlotte rushed over and peered at the ground where Quinn had fallen. "So you have."
Quinn grinned. "Mhm. I need a stick to test it, though." he said with a shrug.
Charlotte looked around, blinking, and picked up a stick, throwing it like a javelin near Quinn.
Quinn yelped, ducking, then grabbing it up and shoving the end through the portal, keeping ahold of it.
Charlotte crossed her arms and tapped her foot, waiting impatiently.
He yelped as something tugged on the stick, yanking it out. It had been broken in half. Something had bitten on it. He was pale as he stumbled backwards. "That's not…ah, that's not your world." He said.
Charlotte grimaced. "I figured."
Quinn sighed, throwing the broken stick aside. "Damn it." He muttered.
Charlotte gave him a quizzical look. "What?"
"Nothing." He shook his head slightly. "Let's keep looking."
"It's because you were hoping I'd leave, isn't it?" Charlotte asked wryly, quirking an eyebrow.
Quinn chuckled. "No." he replied, taking a cautious step into the fields, checking for dips.
Charlotte rolled her eyes. "Sure." She looked over briefly before shaking her head. She continued walking, forgetting to look down, and slipped after several minutes. Her leg got caught in a black pool- a portal? And she screamed, swearing. "I think I've found a portal to hell," she called through gritted teeth.
Aster, closest to her, leapt forward and pulled her out to safety.
Quinn jumped, and came over as quickly as possible.
Charlotte breathed heavily, placing her hands on her calf. It felt like it was on fire. "Thank you," she managed tightly.
Aster nodded, crouching. "What happened to your leg?" he asked softly. "Do we need to bandage it?"
Charlotte closed her eyes before shaking her head. "Shouldn't waste bandages. I don't know what happened. Fire or something."
Aster frowned. "At least let me take a look at it." he replied.
Charlotte hesitated before taking her hands away from her leg, bright red with a few blisters. She hissed softly and put her hands back over it. "I'm fairly certain that isn't Earth."
Aster frowned. "Quinn, do we have any ice? Or at least water?" he asked, gently pulling her hands away again. He nodded. "If it is Earth, it isn't a part of it that you want to go to."
Charlotte flinched and looked away. "Er, no - no, probably not."
Aster nodded.
Quinn brought some water, and melting chunks of ice. "This is what we have. I'll grab some bandages." He said.
Aster took them, and gently poured the water over Charlotte's leg.
"I said I don't need bandages," Charlotte scowled.
"Well, too bad." Aster replied calmly.
