@Simon-Says
Charlotte sighed dramatically and shook her head. "She's made her decision."
Charlotte sighed dramatically and shook her head. "She's made her decision."
Lightning chittered softly. Aster nodded, still petting her. "Alright." He replied with a shrug.
Charlotte narrowed her eyes at Lightning before opening her book to a random page. "Ah. Another about Mother. How fascinating," she muttered drily, roughly shoving her book back in her bag.
Lightning scampered back to her, crawling up her leg and nuzzling her.
Aster sighed softly.
Charlotte grinned at Lightning. "I knew it. Your loyalties are chosen well, my friend."
Lightning chittered softly, rubbing her face against Charlotte's cheek.
Aster watched with a small smile.
Charlotte smiled at Lightning, gently petting her head.
Lightning sat down on her shoulder contentedly.
Aster watched them for a long moment, then looked out the window again.
Charlotte had become bored and leaned down to rifle through her bag. Somehow, the same variety of entertainment remained.
Aster sighed softly, leaning his head on the window with a dull thunk.
Lightning scrabbled for a moment.
Charlotte flinched at the sudden noise and turned to look out the window.
Aster sighed, and looked down at his hands. He let out a breath, and with his breath, flowers and other plants sprang up throughout the coach. An illusion, of course.
Charlotte looked up at the flowers decorating the carriage and had to close her eyes. Because flowers weren't supposed to grow in carriages. Ever.
Aster sighed softly, and the flowers vanished. He wasn't sure how to get closer to Charlotte. He wanted to, but…every time he tried, she pushed him away. And she seemed to hate everything related to Wonderland, and…he couldn't help but wonder if that applied to himself and Quinn as well.
Charlotte blinked her eyes open slowly and breathed a soft sigh of relief, calming slightly.
Aster sighed, and looked out the window again, leaning his head against the glass.
(Timeskip?)
(sure)
Charlotte blinked quickly when the carriage ground to a halt. "Ah," she commented blankly.
Aster sat up, looking out the window. "First stop. Too early for lunch, must be a portal spot."
Charlotte nodded and popped the door open, stepping out.
Aster got up and followed her, careful not to irritate the wound, which was still healing.
Quinn greeted them. "Hey." he said.
Charlotte nodded to him, scanning the area.
This one was simply a flat plan. It didn't look like there was anything there.
"Look out when you walk. The portals here are hidden in dips. You could walk right into one if you aren't careful." Quinn said.
Charlotte nodded, fully aware that she had zero attention span. "I'll have to try."
Quinn sighed softly. "Aster, don't you dare fall through." He told the other male.
Aster rolled his eyes. "Fine."
Charlotte smiled. "I certainly wouldn't recommend it."
Aster looked at her. "Wow, you hate me that much?" He asked jokingly.
"Of course not, don't be ridiculous," Charlotte muttered. "I meant that this world is better than most."
Aster chuckled, and shrugged. "Well. This one isn't without it's issues." He replied.
