Rouge walked up to the door shaking slightly as she went to knock using the element spirit to help strengthen her
Iris jumped slightly at the noise of a knocking at the door. "I'll get it," she jumped out of her seat and opened the door. "Oh hello there! I, uh…." her face was pained as she struggled to finish her sentence. "Nice to meet you," she said lamely. Making a face, she dashed back to her seat.
(spirit is to soothe not to give her physical strength so the knock wasn't that loud)
"sorry to scare you. Honestly i am a bit nervous myself to be here" Rouge stopped herself from rambling and accidentally saying although i got free ride in due to my strength i still doubt myself
(yeah it was just a noise she wasn't expecting)
Iris blinked. "I, uh, yeah, okay…"
"May I come in?" Rouge could barely squeak that sentence out knowing this was the beginning of the rest of her life
"Um… probably? We're doing, uh, science stuff," she came up with, forgetting that Rouge hadn't yet walked in the classroom.
"Thank you" Rouge walked in as she closed the door behind her and taking a seat
Mason gave Rouge a small smile and almost spilt chemicals on the desk
(someone drop a book or something, I want Mason to accidentally fuse chemicals together by blowing them up)
Colton roughly hit the blackboard with a wooden pointer, forcing everyone's attention to him. "Two minutes left before you wrap up your stations and head back to your seats for the quiz." He commanded before noticing a new student come into the class. "And who are you?" He said with a tilted head, his eyebrows stern.
“Wait? There’s a quiz? Was the in the plan? I don’t think so. I think I’ll do fine, but was this on the plan?” Evelyn began to flip threw her notes as she tried to remember everything.
"Evelyn, you're the most prepared out of all of us, calm down. You'll do fine!"
"Wait, what?" Sucorra had no idea what was going on anymore.
"A quiz? Oh crap," Iris remarked. Um… beryllium with something makes something? she thought as she tried to recall facts.
"I am Rouge Blaze the new transfer student they put me in this class but honestly simple chemistry shouldn't be a problem if there is a quiz i will take it like the rest" Rouge said confidently
"Simple chemistry, hah," Colton said shaking his head at the student with a smile. "We'll see about that. Take a seat over there." He said, pointing to the first seat in the row, moving some random student to another one. "Lab is over, get back to your seats. This quiz should take you no longer than ten minutes, maybe twenty at most. This quiz has fifty constructed response questions that I expect to be correct. Of course, you know the rules about cheating. If I catch you, you may as well throw your test in the trash." He said, taking out a huge packet of papers. It made a loud thump on his desk and he took some to go pass out to students. He placed a thick quiz on each student's desk, flipping it over to the back. Once he finished he went back to the front. "You may begin." He set a timer and placed it on the board.
Iris took a look at the first question and grimaced almost immediately. "Explain how yeast works and why it's useful. (At least a paragraph, and full sentences always.)" it read. She groaned in her head and scribbled down some explanation that made no sense about how yeast made bread rise.
Evelyn began to whimper and then blurted out, “I can’t read it.”
"Excuse me, ma'am. No talking during a test. This is the first and last time I'm telling anyone." He said, sitting down and watching the students struggle.
Rouge mumbled a reading spell under her breathe and directed it to Evelyn hoping it would help then carried on her quiz which she finished with time to spare she always excelled in chemistry and spells
Sucorra bit her lip as she read the questions, not remembering any of what they have learned so far. Not that she expected to, of course. She guessed on most, preparing herself on her upcoming grade results.
Evelyn was near tears as the words on her page cleared a little but they were still illegible. Her shadow powers made dark things blur together and the tiny black font on the quiz was awful.
Mason stared at the paper, absolutely dead inside. How couldn't remember how many valence electrons copper had, how was he supposed to get any of these right?
Evelyn set down her hot pink pen as she leaned back and told herself not to cry.
Mason shot Evelyn a sympathetic glance, she had told him about her reading troubles and he felt sorry for her.
(lmao im back here enjoying their struggle)
Rouge saw the shadows around Evelyn and tried to call most of them to her using the same element to help her
(rude but I'm laughing at Mason, cause in my head he can't tell the difference between sliding doors and windows)
Mason gave up and started pushing pencils off the desk and watching them roll away
