Vesper walked beside her, arms by his sides now. He closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them again.

Cassie tapped her fingers for a few moments, thinking. "So, er… do you live around here?"
Vesper blinked. "Oh. Uhm, yeah." He replied slowly. "Do you?"
Cassie laughed quietly. "I live in either America or the Commonwealth, so that'd be a no," she explained.
"Oh. Right." He replied slowly. "Sorry." He looked at the road.
"You don't have to keep apologising, Ves. It's not something I expect everyone to know," Cassie responded with an understanding smile.
Vesper shrugged. "Oh. Alright." He replied slowly. "Still. I should have known that."
"I never told you, Sherlock!" Cassie said exasperatedly.
"Well no, but I should have guessed." He replied, then raised an eyebrow. "Sherlock?" He echoed in confusion.
Charlotte shook her head. "Ancient book series about a detective," she explained offhandedly. "So I act ridiculously American or Asian?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh." He shook his head. "No, that's now what I meant…I meant because your father is human, so obviously he would have wanted to remain on Earth, and your mother had no reason to want to.live on Luna."
Cassie sighed. "Well, it's fine to ask questions. No one likes a person who pretends to k ow everything, anyhow."
Vesper hummed softly. "Ah. That's probably true. But I still should have been able to guess."
Cassie sighed. "No, you - fine."
Vesper was silent after that, still walking beside her calmly.
Cassie bit her lip, unable to think of something to say.
Vesper shifted slightly. I shouldn't have left Aquila…it isn't my job to hang out with other people…
"Er, do you have any siblings?" She asked without thinking, immediately regretting opening her mouth. Of all the things she could've said, she'd chosen that.
"No." He replied easily. "Never have, never will." Because mom is dead, and… He shook his head slightly. "What about you?" He asked.
"Er, nope," she said carefully. "Loads of cousins, though."
"Oh." He replied with a slight shrug. I don't have any family. Not as far as I know.
Oh, stars. No more talk about family. Cassie nodded and looked around. "Do the leaves here fall off in the spring, or do they stay evergreen because there's no climate?" She asked quizzically.
Vesper blinked. "Oh. I uhm… I'm not sure." He replied slowly. "It depends on where you are. Some trees do, some don't."

"Really? That's so odd," Cassie marvelled, looking around.
"Yes. I guess so." He shrugged a little, looking around cautiously. "I wouldn't know; I've never left Luna."
"You aren't missing much," Cassie assured him drily.
He shrugged. "If you say so." He replied with a sigh.
(gone for two days weekends are the worst man)
Salem looked around and tried to find Alpha so she let out a semi loud howl
"I really do," Cassie sighed.
