"Uh…no? Of course not. I was meaning setting times. If that makes sense. I apologize if it sounded like I was saying that though."
He says with a sigh running his fingers through his hair. He didn't even think of that! It kind of hurt a little to think Rye, out of all people, would think that. If he were to go on any dates, it would be with Rye.
"Anyway, Monday's, Thursdays, Fridays. I'm free on all of those days. As for times, whenever is fine."
He says turning his attention back to Elsie.
Elsie stayed silent at the date accusation, barely even noticing it. She didn't feel fully there, in the present.
"What about Monday's after school?" she inquired a moment later, snapping back into the present.
"Okay. That works"
He says with a nod. He was glad she didn't say Thursdays. He always went to the gym on Thursdays after school. Other than that he was totally free. So if she did, he couldn't bend his plans a little.
And don't ever even think of him going to a public gym. Nope. Never in a billion years. It was way too disgusting for him. He has an overly rich friend (he has his way of getting them lol) that has a private gym that he lets Levi use. No one knows about it except for Rye. He never knew what she actually thought about it. Though he never cared to ask. It was an unnecessary thing to ask. And he barely ever talks about him going to the gym or working out. Anything like that. He always felt like it was bragging in away. Which yeah…he was pretty fit. To say the least. But he never talks about it.
Relief filled her body, and she turned back to Lance. No, if he goes on a date I should be happy for him. "Lance, how about we take a walk?" Rye needed to stop worrying about Levi, he's old enough to take care of him. The feeling she had, Rye just figured it was because her and Levi were so close and haven't left each other's side in, well years. But maybe if she put some distance they will broaden their relationships with others.
(HE LOVES HER GOSH DARNITTTTT)
Lance thinks, “Not really, I mostly just support my brother whose an actor. But that’s really it.” He nodded when she suggested going on and walking, “Sure.”
(HE LOVES HER GOSH DARNITTTTT)
(Yeah she pretty obvious to anything like that. 😂 Plus, I want the story to develop before I decide who I actually want her to be with.)
"An actor!" Rye said as she started to walk out the door. Plus this will give time for Levi to make a friend, at least that was her thought process. "Has he acted in any major films?" This was interesting, he was interesting. Her brother wasn't like that. Sure he was a bit social, but he would never act. No, he was becoming a computer engineer. College was hard for him, and Rye did whatever she could to lift his load a little. Ty, besides Levi, was her bestfriend. She loved him.
“No, as of right now he acts in plays, occasionally musicals,” Lance said after a moment, he smiled at the thought of his brother. Zackie was in his third year of college focusing on theatre. His brother extremely social and always in a good mood.
(yeah, I figured. its just the beginning after all lol)
"I see, so he can sing as well. Do you have any other siblings?" She wants to know more, more than anyone in there class. Maybe the girls would want to be her friend, sure it was a shallow way to get friends and she didn't want to get to know him just because of that, but the bullying was bad, and Rye just wanted it to stop. If he has a sister, I bet she would be beautiful. Rye thought that his whole family must be extraordinary. He played soccer, while his brother was an actor. It was amazing to her, especially since she didn't really know what she wanted to do. And sure she can dance a little, but it wasn't like she was the best in her class. Rye always saw herself as just ordinary.
“No, it’s just me, my mom and dad, Zackie, and my dog, Azzy.” Lance replied then curiously turned to look at her, “What about you? Any siblings?”
"An older brother." She smiled when thinking about him. "Both my parents are doctors, so he practically raised me," Rye stopped and put up her hands in front of her. "They didn't ignore us or anything, they are very loving parents. Just being doctor, you know takes up a lot of time." Rye was always proud of what her parents did. Her whole family was smart, she just got the short end of the stick. "I've also got a dog."
“Being a doctor is a good job to have…” Lance said, “What’s your dogs name?”
"Her name is Freedom. She's a Goldie German shepherd mix. And probably the sweetest dog you would ever meet." Levi popped into her mind and she smiled, he didn't like dogs much, but Freedom definitely liked Levi. "She likes Levi a lot." Rye covered her mouth when she mentioned Levi. She was trying not to bring him up since it would maybe be weird for Lance. And it was also for her own good. Even when I'm not around him, he still pops into my mind. This wasn't something new, she did think about his a lot. But today was supposed to be different. "Anyway, you should come see me dance sometime." She didn't necessarily want to invite him since it would be embarrassing, but she needed to change the subject.
Realizing that Rye and Lance had left, he took a deep breath, trying to think of small talk. Animals? Art? Food? That was all that came to mind at the moment. He wasnt really interested in food. Other than cheesecake. Oh did he love his strawberry cheesecake. ONly Rye knew that though. He would never show his love for it in front of anyone else. He wasnt really much of an artist. More of a photographer. Art was too messy for him. And animals? Well the only animal that actually liked him was Ryes dog.
Levi actually hated dogs, just like how he hated almost all animals. They had no sense of cleanliness or organization.
They had no sense of personal space nor the fact that maybe some people don't like them. It was such a bothersome to Levi that Rye's dog loved him so much. But he put up with Freedom since it was Ryes dog. And she seemed to be really happy that the dog loved him so much. She loved that dog and he could clearly tell. And just because he never felt any connection with animals, it didn't mean that he wasnt going to crash anyone else party. He would just keep his distance.
Lance lightly laughed at how she said that Freedom likes Levi a lot, "Freedom seems sweet, and maybe I will come see you dance sometime, you'll just have to let me know when."
Her face turned red. "I'm sorry, I'm not very good, so don't expect much." Lance was so good at soccer that Rye felt inferior, just a little. It's okay Rye, you just haven't found your thing yet. Levi once told her that, when she was sad one day a few years back, but she always remembered it. To there right was a river that people loved to swim in, although it was really allowed. "Do you like swimming?" She asked with a sly grin on her face.
"I'm sure you're great at it," Lance grinned at her sweetly, "And yeah, swimming is fun, why do you ask?" He pondered.
The grabbed his arm and dragged him down the grass hill, laughing as she did so. Once at the end she let go of his hand and jumped in smiling. Within seconds, the water surrounded her. She stayed under for a few seconds before coming back up. "It's quite chilly, but not to bad." The reason she let go of his hand was because she wasn't going to force him to jump in like her. Her black hair shimmered under the sunlight, her smile was wide and bright and her blue eyes reflected off the water.
Lance couldn't help but blush profusely when she came back up, she looked absolutely amazing. He took a minute then jumped in after her and came up a few seconds later shaking the droplets of water from his blond hair, "The water isn't bad at all," he laughed.
"So… uh… you like Rye?" the question came out of her mouth before she could prevent it. She covered her mouth with her hand, horrified by her bluntness. "Sorry– I'm so sorry– you don't have to answer that. Moving on…!" Elsie forced a laugh.
Rye was jealous of his light hair. Being Japanese she got her father's hair, while Ty looked like their mother. He still had darker hair, but it was lighter than hers. "Weird question, but um, may I touch your hair?" Blonde hair was fascinating to her. It shined and sparkled under the sun. What was one different thing about her is she looked Japanese, but had her mother's blue eyes. Rye was only about a foot away from him, just floating, while her blue eyes looked into his green ones.
Once again, Lance blushed, "U-um sure, go ahead," he decided. He swam a little closer so she had an easier time touching his hair.
Rye used both hands to push his hair out of his face. Beautiful. His eyes were stunning. His wet hair stayed in place, with the occasional strains falling to the side. "Your hair is very soft." Her face turned a bit red. She couldn't help it, Lance was extremely handsome. No wonder a lot of girls liked him. Again she ran her hands threw it. This is like like a scene from a movie. Rye cleared her throat and put her hands back in the water. Would it be weird to say thank you? Rye decided it was so she didn't say anything.
Lance lightly laughed, "Oh, uh, thank you," He replied, he looked down hiding the red on his face and when it cleared he looked back up, "So…what should we do?" He asked, keeping eye contact with Rye.
Rye smiled, he was cute. She could see the red a little but decided not to mention it. "Want to race to that rock?" Rye gestured to a rock that was a ways away. "And the winner get to tell the loser what to do for the rest of the day." There always had to be something for the winner, that's just how Rye did things.
"We're just friends. Though it's fine…. What about you? Anyone in mind?"
He was never really one to talk about this type of thing. Though since she brought it up, why not? Right?
"Okay," Lance, nodded, overly confident he was going to win, "You say when we go," he says lining up with her.
"Ready," Rye got into a swimming position, "Go!" She yelled and began swimming with all her might. It was a bit difficult since she was going against the tides, but it made it more fun and challenging. Every once in a while, she would bring her face up to breathe and check to see where Lance was. Right now they were tied up.
