Aster sighed softly. "Good."
Aster sighed softly. "Good."
Not that I believed him, she added in her head. She crossed her arms lightly and looked back out the window.
Aster shifted, wincing slightly as the carriage lurched into motion.
Charlotte briefly looked over, grimacing and looking back out the window.
Aster sighed softly. "Lottie, are you alright?"
Charlotte looked over and forced a smile. "Of course, why wouldn't I be?"
He shrugged slightly. "I don't know." He replied slowly.
"Well, I'm perfectly fine, thanks," she assured him.
Aster nodded. "Oh. Alright." He replied slowly.
Charlotte smiled again before turning back to the window. This was incredibly uncomfortable.
Aster shifted, wincing and rubbing at his wound. Damn.
Charlotte noticed him wince out of the corner of her eye and immediately turned. "Is it hurting too badly?"
He shook his head slightly. "I'm fine." He replied calmly.
"No, you're - " Charlotte sighed. "You aren't," she muttered.
"What?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "I'll live."
"There's a difference between being alive and being just fine and good, Aster," Charlotte said exasperatedly.
Aster shrugged. "If you say so." He replied.
Charlotte sighed and stared at the ceiling.
Aster watched her for a moment.
Charlotte leaned against the wall and looked around the carriage boredly.
Aster shifted again, looking out the window.
(Should we timeskip?)
(sure)
Charlotte sat up suddenly as the carriage came to a stop, and stood up, hitting her head on the ceiling. "Sonofa - " she cursed and sat back down, rubbing her scalp.
Aster looked up, eyes flickering around uncertainly. "Why are we stopped?" He asked.
"Er, I don't know. Did they find another… portal-thing," she queried.
Aster shrugged. "Possibly." He replied slowly, peering out the window. "Or maybe we stopped for the night."
"I suppose," Charlotte said uncertainly. She sighed and opened the door.
Quinn came over. "We've stopped for the night." He said, running a hand through his black hair.
Charlotte nodded. "How, er… lovely."
