"I care about you too…" He murmured. "That's why I feel bad about you having to deal with me."
"I care about you too…" He murmured. "That's why I feel bad about you having to deal with me."
“I would never feel bad about that,” Nick mumbled, his breath hot on Cas’s ear. “I happen to love spending time with you, and being there for you.
Cas blushed and shivered a bit, gripping Nick's shirt tighter. "Um… thanks."
“You don’t have to thank me for caring,” Nick responded, serious. He liked he feeling of hugging Cas.
"Maybe not, but I should thank you for letting me stay here a while."
“Of course, I’m happy to help,” Nick replied, still hugging Cas. He wondered how the other boy would react if Nick leaned down and kissed him.
Cas lingered a moment with his face hidden before he looked up at Nick. The other bit was a good bit taller than him, which was a strange thing to experience up close. He was used to being shorter than people, of course.
“How are you feeling?” Nick asked, hoping Cas was doing even a tiny bit better. He didn’t have the nerve to ask if he wanted to kiss, especially after talking about Cas’s dad.
"I'm okay now that you're back." Cas hummed, seeming calm enough. His eyes surveyed Nick's face with vague curiosity.
Those few words made Nick feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He definitely fell for people too fast, he decided. This was going to be a problem if Cas was going to be staying with him. “I’m glad.” Nick looked back at Cas, eyes lingering on his lips for a few moments longer than necessary before he managed to move his gaze to Cas’s eyes again.
Cas noticed and sighed, rolling his eyes a bit. "You gonna do it or not?" He asked with a slight smirk.
Nick’s stomach flipped. After a moment of hesitation, he leaned in, closing the gap between them and pressing his lips to Cas’s.
Cas melted into Nick's touch, pressing himself up against him. It was his first kiss, but it felt so natural and wonderful to him he hardly noticed.
So I guess he doesn’t like me as a friend, was Nick’s first thought as Cas kissed him back. A warmth spread throughout his body as he continued kissing Cas. He had only been kissed once or twice before, quick pecks when he thought no one was looking, but neither of them mattered anymore. Those kisses were nothing compared to this.
"You're too fuckin' tall…" Cas whined breathlessly, standing on his toes and tugging Nick down to kiss him better.
Nick tried not to laugh at that, bending over a bit so that he wouldn’t fall over when Cas pulled him down. He lingered on Cas’s lips for a bit longer before kissing cheek and down his jawline.
Cas blushed more, letting Nick have his way with him. "Now we just hope no one comes in, yeah?"
(Jane meanders in and is very confused)
“Yeah,” he agreed, locking eyes with Cas for a moment before going back to kissing him.
Then the door creaked open and Nick about had a heart attack when Jane poked her head in the door. “Hel…lo?”
(i’m taking that as a suggestion lol)
Cas froze and turned bright red, too startled to have the sense to speak or hide behind Nick or something. "Uh…"
Nick knew that trying to play it off was sort of useless at this point, since Jane had clearly seen him kiss Cas.
“Is this what it looks like?” Jane asked, quickly shutting the door. She was definitely confused. Nick glanced to Cas to make sure that he was okay with trusting Jane before he spoke.
Cas glanced up at Nick and just nodded a bit to let him know it was okay. He thought he could trust Jane, anyways. He blushed harder and looked away, embarrassed.
“…yeah,” Nick admitted, blushing, though it was harder to tell. He looked at his sister hopefully.
“You know, I always kind of suspected you might be gay,” Jane responded with a smirk. “I just wasn’t expecting this.”
“Jane, now is not the time,” Nick sighed. “Just please don’t tell anyone about this.”
“I’m not stupid, Nick,” Jane retorted, looking at Cas for confirmation.
Cas nodded again, fidgeting with his hands. "I-I know this is probably weird for you, considering he and I were just fighting the other day, but I promise there's a good reason…" He then explained the entirety of his and Nick's plan to stop the wars and how it backfired, dropping subtle hints about his father's violence towards him.
Jane’s eyes widened. “No way,” she breathed, glancing between the two of them.
“Jane, you can’t tell anyone,” Nick repeated. “Not even one person.” Jane rolled her eyes.
“I won’t,” she promised, clearly a bit aggravated. “Jesus.”
“Language!”
“Ugh.”
"Thank you… I'm sorry it had to come to this." Cas bowed politely as he'd been taught to do. "I wouldn't be here if he… I… I apologize… I shouldn't bother you with my problems…" He murmured, looking away again with a bit of pain in his gaze.
Nick instantly hugged Cas, trying to comfort him. “You’re not a bother, you’re never a bother, okay?” he reminded him.
“Yeah, you don’t have to apologize,” Jane added, her gaze turning soft and understanding. “It’s okay.”
Cas nodded weakly. "I… I just hope your father treats you well…" He gripped Nick tighter, trembling a bit. "Y-You two both deserve better…"
“You deserve better too,” Nick added softly, holding Cas in his embrace. And if I have anything to say about it, he will get better, he added mentally.
Cas lingered for a couple more seconds before pulling away so he wouldn't make Jane uncomfortable. The top button of his shirt was unbuttoned, exposing part of the blossoming bruise underneath.
“Um…do you guys want me to leave?” Jane asked self-conciously, a trait she didn’t usually show. “I totally intruded on you.”
