Draco's like... snow, "It's cold and cruel to begin with, but it's somehow beautiful, and you miss it when it's not there. And if you hold it in your hands close enough and long enough, it changes. It melts.”
"No i'm fine, really" Betty said.
"No i'm fine, really" Betty said.
Lysander shook his head. ”You don't understand. I am barely restraining myself… If I don't get something around those cuts… My only other option would be to leave the house for a while.”
"Fine only for your sake" she said.
”Thank you.” he said softly, giving her a light kiss on her cheek before running at an inhuman speed to get the medical supplies he bought recently.
"jesus" Betty muttered.
Lysander flinched as he started walking back to her holding some bandages for all three injuries. ”Uh, Betty? Could you please not say stuff like that?”
"Sorry I forgot your a vampire " Betty said looking down at her feet.
”It’s alright. Those words don't really do any damage, it's more of a strong discomfort.” He reassured. ”Now, let's take care of your neck first.”
she nodded, holding up her head.
Lysander had to force himself to concentrate on the medical aspect of what he was doing. He's had many people tilt their heads in similar positions but for an entirely different reason. ”Thankfully it doesn't seem very deep and it missed your arteries.” he noted as he bandaged the cut.
"it always does" Betty said.
Lysander gave a thoughtful hum as he moved on to her arm. ”And these only appear after your visions. Do they vary in depth or location depending on how many or how long you see something?”
"No they just cuts whereveer" Betty said.
”Interesting.” Lysander visibly relaxed as he finished bandaging her arm. ”Sorry, if my questions are annoying. I just have never met an Oracle before, only heard of them.”
"Tah-da Here I am the woman your forced to marry" she said.
He gave a dry chuckle before he softly cupped her cheek. ”In our own time, Betty. You showed me that it will happen but I won't force you to marry a stranger. I can wait until you are ready.” Lysander promised.
"I don't have a choice' Betty said "it's not like i don't want to I mean er" betty said flustered.
”Yes, you do! I am giving you that choice.” he stated firmly. ”Tell me, does what you see always come true?”
"Yes always" she said with a nod.
Lysander sighed, unsure if he was happy about that or frustrated. ”Then at the very least, I can be patient… Let you decide when it happens.” I won't expect you to love me… but I can wait until you're comfortable around me… I’ll settle for friends.
betty nodded
He gave her a light smile as he pulled back from her, brushing his thumb gently over the small scrape on her cheek.
she smiled gently.
He felt very awkward as he silently admired the woman, whose visions said she would be his first wife. ”Did you already eat something for breakfast?”
"no not very hungry" she said.
”Alright.” he nodded before gesturing to the medical supplies. ”I’m just going to put these away. There's more coffee in the kitchen if you want.”
she nodded.
Lysander stood, gathered the remaining bandages and walked out at a normal pace.
Betty shook her head and went upstairs to rest.
Lysander silently berated himself for sounding and acting like a fool as he put everything back. I sounded like a complete rip-off of that pathetic character from those damned books. If I knew that jerk wouldn't just replace them, I would destroy them. he sighed running a hand through his hair. I only read the series once because I was bored.
