Logan chuckled. He noticed her smile at Henry, and sighed softly. Well. She's allowed to flirt with other people. I shouldn't even care. He thought. But i…sort of do…

“So how have you all been getting along?” Allie asked them.

“As good as we can,” Penny responded with a sigh. “We all stick together.”

“It’s nice having a group of friends,” Henry added.

“Yeah, it sounds like it,” Allie said wistfully. “You all seem pretty cool.” She looked right at Henry as she said it. “Logan and I have both been on our own for a while now.”

“On your own…together?” Henry asked, furrowing his brow as he glanced from her to Logan.

Logan blinked. "Er…I only met her a few days ago, so. Not quite in the way you're thinking." He replied, shrugging slightly.

“Yeah, we’re not like a couple or anything,” Allie added with a smile. This is normal. Just flirting with a boy. And it’s not because I feel rejected or anything dumb like that, obviously…

“Oh, cool,” Henry said, smiling at Allie again.

Jamie rolled his eyes and turned to Logan. “He’ll flirt with anything that breathes,” he muttered to the other boy. Henry and Allie didn’t seem to hear.

“So you’ve been on your own?” Olivia added with a concerned look on her face.

Logan nodded at Jamie's words, then looked at Olivia. "Yeah, I have. I dont know about Allie, but i have. It's not that bad, before you start pitying me or something."

“I’ve been on my own too, and I’m fine,” Allie added. “Though better now.” She smiled at Henry again, the two of them inching towards each other.

Jamie rolled his eyes again. “Oh, of course,” Olivia responded, looking slightly chastened from Logan’s comment.

“Hey Allie, wanna go dance?” Henry asked.

“Sure,” Allie replied with a triumphant smirk in Logan’s direction. Stop looking at him, you barely even know him, you idiot, she reminded herself.

Logan raised his eyebrows at Allie slightly, taking a deep breath. Is she…teasing me? Is this because i said i wasn't sure how i felt? He wondered as he watched her go, unconsciously crossing his arms.

Allie and Henry danced by themselves, easy to spot amongst the small number of people.

Olivia sighed. “I’m sorry about him.”

“Yeah, he’s usually a decent person, but he thinks he’s so good at flirting and it makes him act stupid,” Jamie added.

“So, what are you drinking?” Penny asked, glancing at his bottle.

Logan nodded, then looked at the bottle. "Uhm…alcohol." he said with a chuckle. "I don't know. Whatever the dude manning the drinks handed to me." he shrugged.

Penny laughed. “You sound just like Jamie.” Jamie rolled his eyes again and Olivia copied him, over exaggerating it to mock him. Penny glanced at the dance floor before quickly glancing back. It was clear she was curious.

Meanwhile, Allie and Henry had gone from dancing near each other to practically dancing on each other.

Logan watched Allie and Henry with his lips pressed in a thin line, sighing softly. He gave a soft chuckle at Penny's words. "I see."

Olivia followed his gaze. “Seriously, Henry?” she sighed.

“Have you ever been here before?” Jamie asked with a sudden smirk.

Logan refocused on Jamie. "Hmm? Oh, no. I'm new to this area." He replied with a shrug.

“Then you haven’t heard the rumors,” Jamie muttered. Olivia looked at him uneasily, but Penny just smirked.

“You don’t actually believe that bullshit, do you?” she asked.

“Psssh of course not,” Jamie replied. He turned to Logan. “Rumor has it that some aliens are hiding amongst the humans. Why they’d do that I don’t know, but I guess they’re, like, fugitives or something? But that’s probably not true, since if they were they probably would’ve ratted out our secrets hideouts to the others by now or something.” He shrugged.

Logan's eyes flickered slightly. "Oh. That's…an odd rumor." He replied, frowning. "Why would they? And if they're fugitives, why would they rat out the hideouts anyway, since the aliens likely wouldn't take them back?"

“Uh…” Jamie replied, clearly surprised that Logan was contradicting what he had said. “I thought maybe they were desperately seeking to be accepted back. But I could be wrong, I guess.”

Penny rolled her eyes. “Obviously you’re wrong. They’re literally trying to eradicate the whole fucking human race, and you think they’ll take back their fugitives?”

"Even if they were desperately seeking to be accepted back, then reporting on military bases and such seems to me like a better way to do it. Not… civilian hangouts." He shrugged.

“Well I don’t know how they operate!” Jamie snapped. Olivia’s eyes widened and Penny rolled her eyes.

“He’s had one too many drinks,” Olivia explained.

Logan nodded to the girls, then turned back to Jamie. "I'm not saying you do. I'm saying it's common sense to go after the military, not the civilians."

Jamie nodded. “Yeah, I suppose so,” he admitted.

“So you think the rumors are true?” Penny pestered, her green eyes lighting up.

Logan looked at Penny. "I mean…I guess so, yeah." He replied with a shrug.

Penny smirked. “I don’t, but it’s fascinating to see who does.”

Olivia sighed. “Guys, we should probably get going. It’s getting late.”

“Didn’t know you were such a grandma,” Penny teased.

“You know nothing bad ever happens at night,” Olivia commented ominously.

Jamie sighed as well. “Let’s go hunt down Henry.”

Logan looked around for Allie, frowning slightly. He hoped she wasnt the type of girl to do anything too intense with a guy she had just met, as that would be embarrassing. He reminded himself that it shouldn't matter either way to him.

After a minute of searching, they found Allie and Henry giggling in a corner, both of them slightly disheveled from making out. Allie had taken her hair out of its bun, letting it fall in golden curls down her back.

“There you two are,” remarked Olivia with a sigh.

“Sorry,” Henry apologized. Allie glanced at Logan for a second and then looked at the others.

Logan crossed his arms slightly, looking at her. This shouldn't matter to you. She wants to make out with some random guy, that's her choice. It shouldn't matter. You aren't even Human. If she knew that, she would kill you. A muscle ticked in his jaw.

“Well, it was nice to meet you guys,” Olivia remarked with a smile at the two of them. “We need to head out for the night, and you should too.”

Jamie nodded. “Sorry for acting dumb earlier. Have a good night, man.”

“Bye, guys,” Allie added, shooting one last smile at Henry and letting go of his hand, which she had been holding.

Logan nodded. "Yeah. See you." He replied with a wave. He crossed his arms again with a sigh after they left. "Shall we head home, or are there any other random guys you want to make out with? The creep from earlier, perhaps?"

Allie glared at him, her face coloring. He seemed to be affected, which was what she wanted, so why did she feel so awful? “What’s your problem?” she complained. “He was just one guy, and we had chemistry.” She crossed her arms as well.

"Uh huh. Sure. I guess chemistry is now synonymous with drunk." He replied, and started walking towards the exit.

She followed him, annoyed. “It isn’t your business what I choose to do, and yes, maybe I’m a bit drunk, but so what? The worst thing that could happen is I die, and that’s going to happen anyway, thanks to the aliens!” She felt as if she might cry, but she couldn’t do that in public, or even in front of Logan.
