Cas let Nick pull him along, still not drawing attention to it. Luckily, his hood was up and Nick was more difficult to identify, so no one really thought much of it.

Nick was secretly glad that Cas hadn’t broken his hold either. It felt really nice to just walk around with him, looking at all of the things this town had to offer. “Look the architecture. Isn’t it beautiful?” he asked, knowing he was a nerd for getting excited about buildings.
Cas smiled softly. "I didn't really notice before, but yeah. It is." He picked up his pace a bit so he was walking next to Nick instead of getting dragged along behind him.
“I’ve always liked other cultures’ architecture and designs, because in my kingdom most of the buildings just look like gray or brown rectangles,” he said, additionally pointing out features on different buildings excitedly.
Cas just let Nick ramble on, not paying too much attention. He seemed relaxed and content, and he never tried to release Nick's hand.
After a while of Nick rambling about buildings, his stomach growled and he stopped talking, blushing. “Maybe we should go find something to eat?” he suggested. “I’m sure a vendor in the marketplace will have something.”
"Sure!" Cas picked up the pace and started pulling Nick along a bit, making his way to the market. "I know they've got bread, fresh fish, some meat, fruits and vegetables… the works."
Nick tried to keep up to avoid getting dragged too far behind, grinning. “You’re making me hungryyy,” he complained.
"We could make sandwiches or something!" Cas grinned as well. "I'm not too good at making food, but you know… I'm willing to try." He headed into the marketplace and looked around.
“Whatever you want is fine, I just want food,” Nick added, glancing around at the different foods, the tangy and spicy scents wafting through the air. His mouth watered. He saw a shish kebab place and a place selling fruit and another one selling sweet rolls and many others.
Cas pulled some coins out of his pocket and went to go buy some bread, dragging Nick along.
Nick followed, still reveling in all the different foods. “That smells heavenly,” he remarked, with a smile.
"Mhmm." Cas smiled softly and thanked the vendor, taking the bread in his arms. "Next we need some kind of meat… could you get a turkey or something? Just slices are fine too."
“Okay, turkey’s good,” Nick agreed. “I can get some vegetables too. Meet at the tree?”
Cas nodded and they parted ways. He was back at the tree within a few minutes with the bread and some cheese.
Nick arrived soon after with some turkey and vegetables. “Okay let’s make some sandwiches!” he exclaimed, his stomach growling again.
Cas gave a couple slices of bread to Nick and started making himself a sandwich. He just had lettuce, turkey, and cheese on it.
Nick copied Cas, adding some tomato and cucumber to his sandwich and taking a big bite. He was a fast eater, so it didn’t take him long to finish the sandwich. “This is perfect.”
Cas smiled and took a bite of his own. "Glad you like it. I like it a lot more than prissy palace food…"
Nick nodded in agreement. “Yeah, it’s nice to eat something plain and simple,” he commented. “And this turkey is awesome! It’s like, I can forget about all the stupid shit happening in our kingdoms.” Despite his somewhat-depressing words, his tone was cheerful and he smiled.
"Mhmm." Cas took another bite. "I wish we were allowed to eat stuff like this at home, you know? I mean, it's clearly not that hard to make, and it's good."
“Yeah, that’d be great. Too bad like ninety-nine perfect of the nobles and royals are total asshats,” he sighed. “I know I should probably get going but I really don’t want to…”
"Yeah…" Cas fidgeted with his hands. His hair was back to normal now, though it was at least combed. It looked nice, and he hated that he'd probably be made to wear gel again for the meeting tonight.
“At least i’ll get to see you again tonight,” Nick added with a wry smile, getting up. “See you later, Cas. Can I call you Cas?”
"If you want." Cas stood up as well, grinning. "Can I call you Nick?"
“Yes,” he responded, his grin lighting up his face. “I like that a lot actually. See you tonight!”
"Yep! Bye!" Cas waved as he ran off back to his quarters.
(time skip to dinner?)
(Yep. Also, I Gtg to work, so I'll be back in a few hours)
(ok)
Nick was glad that they were sitting in the same seats as last night. He noticed that he was there before Cas, which made him smile slightly as he went over the plan in his head.
