@Fraust
Lucas's hands remained suspended in the air for a few seconds. Yes.
Lucas's hands remained suspended in the air for a few seconds. Yes.
Callie nodded, picking Lucas up and walking over to the bed, setting him down lightly and lying next to him.
Lucas huddled up against Callie, getting himself comfortable as he began to doze off.
(Yep)
Callie's eyes blinked open, the sun that was streaming in through the window reflecting off of his arms and filtering through his hair. It took a couple moments for him to remember where he was, but when he did, a wave of happiness washed through him.
Lucas was still asleep when Callie awoke, breathing softly. He whined quietly in his sleep as Callie moved and huddled closer to him.
Callie couldn't hear it, but he could feel Lucas snuggling closer to him, so he only hugged him tighter, holding him as close as he could to comfort him.
Lucas seemed to settle down after that, and it took him a few more minutes to wake up. Good morning. He signed once he was awake enough to do so.
Callie signed the same thing back to him, smiling a little as he did so. Lucas was awake, and that was good.
Lucas was still quite sleepy and slow, not showing interest in doing anything other than cuddle at the moment.
And Callie was fine with that, holding his waist with one hand and the small of his back with the other. Lucas was warm, and he didn't want to get up just yet.
Lucas entwined their legs, yawning. He seemed to be slowly starting the process of waking up, though it hadn't quite happened yet.
Callie rested his head on top of Lucas', sighing softly. He knew he couldn't go back to sleep now that he had woken up, so he would just lie here.
It took a few minutes, but Lucas finally seemed to be awake. He blinked in the sunlight and shielded his eyes, wincing.
Callie ran his hand through Lucas' hair, the metal hand feeling secure and grounding. Callie imagined Lucas' hair was very soft, although he'd never be able to feel it.
Lucas leaned into Callie's hand like a cat, clearly enjoying the feeling. He smiled softly and closed his eyes again.
Callie smiled at Lucas, thinking it was absolutely adorable - which it was, of course. He held Lucas' waist with his other hand, his grip secure but gentle.
Lucas's hair was a bit disheveled from sleeping, but he didn't exactly care much right now. He wrapped his arms around Callie's neck to pull himself closer.
Callie brushed his hand gently through Lucas' hair, getting it somewhat back into place. He liked the contact of another person, to be able to hold them and care for them.
Lucas heard the door open and quickly pretended to be asleep. He hoped whoever came in knew sign language so Callie could just lie and say Lucas was particularly stressed.
And that's what Callie quickly planned to do, to simply lie. It's what he always did, his terrible impulsiveness always telling him to do things. They usually turned out to be better off for him, though, so he went with it.
It was the nurse coming to check up on Lucas, thankfully, and not the king or queen. Even if they told the truth to the nurse, she probably wouldn't tell.
Callie felt a small wave of relief pass over him as he saw it was thankfully only her, quickly signing to her that Lucas was okay but still a little stressed.
She smiled and nodded. I'll let the others know to leave you be. She quietly closed the door and Lucas tentatively opened one eye. Is she gone?
Callie nodded. She was just checking on you. He paused for a moment, deciding eventually to tell him. I lied. I said you were just stressed.
Alright, cool. Lucas tucked his head under Callie's chin, relaxing again.
And they went back to it - neither of them wanting to get up, solely enjoying the other's company. Callie had nowhere to be, not that he would want to be anywhere else.
We should probably get up soon. Lucas eventually signed, though he didn't make any attempt to move.
Anything you have to do today? Callie asked, making no such attempts himself.
