Abby put on her best poker face before she answered Mr. Myers’ question. She knew the answer was going to hurt them but she knew she couldn't not tell them. ”At the moment, only Nyt and Adar know about humans even existing. Before we met, the Slyvians believed that all humans were extinct. I have plans to introduce myself to more of them in the name of peace.” Gesturing to the small group she continued, ”We believed that if we started speaking with the humans first, it would better represent a united front.”
"If only two aliens know about us then how do you know that the others won't try to obliterate us at first sight?" Mr. Myers asked.
"We don't know but isn't that a risk you are willing to take?" Caleb asked.
”Until we know for sure, I will be only revealing myself to other Slyvians. I won't mention where we live.” Abby vowed. ”But I trust Nyt and Adar with my life and I am not going to give up on making this peace a reality. I am willing to take this risk.”
"How can we even talk peace then? At this point you are merely introducing yourself to the…Sylvian's?" One council member asked.
Caleb realized they were kinda right. If only two people knew about them it wasn't peace, but more of an introduction than anything.
”I realize that it is a slow start, but how many humans are willing to speak with them at all?” Abby asked in return. ”Consider me your representative… your advocate… your guinea pig if you want. If I fail; you have lost nothing.”
Peter stiffened slightly at the council's point, if it was only Abby then things would be more difficult. But… ”What if she had a partner? Another human to go with her. I’m sure there's someone else who would be willing to interact with the Slyvians.” Please take the hint…
"I would go with Abby as well." Caleb said raising his hand. "Other than Abby I have spent the most time with them."
Nyt was surprised at Abby's words. Nothing to lose? What did she mean nothing to lose? They would lose their best scout.
Abby turned to face Caleb with a raised brow. She had caught Peter’s subtle suggestion and she understood his reasons for volunteering… All of them. ”Caleb, are you sure that you want to do this?” she pressed. ”If things go badly… One way or another we would never be able to come back here.”
Caleb nodded. 'I've always wanted to be apart of something big and now I am!" He said smiling. He looked genuinely excited.
Adar smiled, glad to know that Caleb would be with them.
(Sorry! I've been really busy all day.)
Abby gave him a small grateful smile as she turned back to the council. ”If the council does not have any objections to this, I will gladly accept Caleb's help as a partner.”
(It's ok. I had a busy day myself.)
The council murmured between their selves. "If you were to go through with this you will not give away where we are or how many of us there are, correct?" One asked to confirm it.
Nyt nodded. "Your location, and numbers will not be reveled." She assured them. "Just Abby and Caleb will be the only two unlesss more people want to come along."
”Agreed.” Abby nodded, trying not to appear too eager. She just needed the council to give their permission and they could really start working on peace.
The council talked for a bit more before turning to them. "We give Abby and Caleb permission to this idea. I really do hope this works like you say it will." A council member announced.
Nyt smiled. "Thank you! I promise even if things do go wrong Abby and Caleb will be brought back here alive." She promised.
”Thank you, councilors.” Abby said practically beaming. She was completely elated, she fought the urge to hug each of her friends right now. She wanted to celebrate with them and but not in front of the council. She needed to try and stay professional to them now.
Toby was obviously just as thrilled as Abby and he could tell his little girl was holding back so he signaled to Peter and Caleb that it was time for their group to leave unless the council had anything else to say.
Nyt nodded. "Come on." She said as she began to make sure everyone was out before she squealed in delight. "It worked!" Nyt said as she picked Abby up and spun her around.
Adar let out a sigh of relief. "That went well!" He marveled.
Caleb let out a whoop of delight. "That went great!" He said, holding up his hand to give Peter a high five.
Abby gave a shriek of laughter as Nyt twirled them together, wrapping her arms around her friend's neck. ”We actually did it!”
”Way to go, you guys.” Peter smiled and smacked his hand against Caleb’s, ”If they turn around and say they want reports or something, I’ll volunteer for that job. Might try to talk Mark into it too.”
Nyt laughed as she set Abby down. "I can't believe it either. At the beginning I actually got scared a bit." She admitted.
Caleb nodded. "They probably will want report or something of the sort." He admitted.
People began to trickle out of the town hall and Mark ran toward them.
"That was great!" He said laughing. "I was honestly expecting violence and a lot more arguing to go down."
Abby nodded. ”I was terrified. I didn't think they’d let me do it.”
”You did great in there, kiddo.” Toby grinned proudly, ruffling her hair affectionately.
Peter chuckled in welcome. ”I think we all were expecting that, Mark. I thought Mr. Meyers would have slandered us until we had to be exiled.”
(I HAD IT ALL TYPED OUT AND THEN MY COMPUTER DECIDED TO CLOSE ALL MY TABS FOR SOME REASON!!!!)

Mark laughed. "I'm surprised he gave up half way through." He admitted.
As people trickled out they looked at Nyt and Adar with looks on both fear and curiosity. Some people even began to form a small circle around them, whispering among themselves. Some children even began to gather at their feet, messing with Nyt's tail and giggling whenever it twitched.
Nyt glanced around warily at all the people. "What are they doing?" She whispered.
Abby smiled gently, as she took Nyt’s hand. ”The kids are just curious. They’ve never seen anyone who has a tail. Since the council said we can work on peace, the kids are taking advantage of the opportunity to see a Slyvian without being shooed away by their parents.”
"Oh! Alright." Nyt said as little boy latched onto one of her legs, giggling. The other children also began to latch themselves onto other limbs and Adar as well.
Adam began to try to shake them off gently but that only caused them to laugh more. "Umm, help?" He said, looking confused.
Caleb hunched over laughed.
Abby smiled watching Nyt and the children interact. This was really a good start. If the kids could help show the adults that there really was nothing to be afraid of, especially from Nyt… then peace wouldn't be so far off.
Toby chuckled at Adar’s helplessness. ”It just means they like you.” he reassured gently prying one of the kids off Adar before playfully tossing the child into the air and catching them.
One child grabbed onto Nyt's tail. Nyt slowly lifted her tail and the child giggled as he was lifted off the ground. She lifted him up to eye level before grabbing him. He giggled when she held him. "Hi?" She said. Other children began to try to grab Nyt's tail as it flicked back and forth.
Adar still seemed uncomfortable but all but two abandoned him for Nyt, which was fine by him, leaving two little children wrapped around his legs. He slowly walked over to Nyt, the children giggling. Their weight was no problem so he could actually walk normal but he didn't want to hurt the children. "What do I do?" He asked, gesturing at the children.
”Not a lot of experience with kids, huh?” Abby noted, looking at Adar. ”Just relax and play with them a little.” She knew it probably wasn't the most helpful advice by she was still distracted by the adrenaline from the meeting finally wearing off.
"How?" Adar asked as the children began to try to grab his tail.
Nyt chuckled as the children swarmed her. She had at least three on her tail at a time and two on each leg. "What's with your tail?" The kid in her arms asked.
"Well, my tail helps me balance." Nyt explained.
"Why are your ears like that?"
"Why don't I have a tail?"
"Why is your hair floating?"
"Your eyes are purple! Can I have purple eyes too?"
"Why doesn't mommy want me coming near you?"
"Why aren't you wearing a mask? Are you holding your breath?"
"Where did you come from?"
"You're not an Alien, right? Dad said aliens are scary so you can't be an Alien. You're very pretty!"
Abby shook her head with a chuckle as she picked up one of the kids. ”Alright, one at a time, kids. This is Nyt and Adar. Yes, they are both Aliens. You can be near them because they're good Aliens. They don't need to wear masks because they can breathe normally without them.” she said, answering a few of the children's questions.
Some of the children sat down like it was story time around them. Nyt blinked a bit at all the questions, trying to remember all the questions.
"Well I live not too far from here, along the edge of the woods. Adar lives a bit farther away. And your mommy probably doesn't want you coming near me because they see me as dangerous." Nyt explained.
"But your not dangerous! Your good!"
