Liz was stunned by his harsh tone and the wind around them suddenly stilled. ”James, what’s wrong with you? You just disappeared into a black cocoon and it sounded like you were dying in there. Excuse me, but” I’m worried about you. ”I think you… we both need answers. So if no one on the ship can help, I am going to find someone from the Azure Rose. They apparently live with this kind of thing so they should be able to explain.” she stated stubbornly.
James froze, then shuddered before coldly continuing down the hallway.
*James what ar- Ignore her JAMES…" He clenched his fists tightly as his mind kept being filled with all kinds of voices.
"Shut the f'ck up" James roared angrily as he broke his former calm and gentle attitude into a great fit. Punching out, black threads appeared wrapping themselves to the side of the hallway and completely and utterly decimating them.
James then hurried down the hallway and into his room before falling onto the ground with his hands shaking.
"What is happening to me?"
HOLY $h!+!!! That does it! I need to tell the Captain. Liz didn't take long to see the damage he had just caused. She sprinted down the corridors for Captain Blake's office. James needed help! It took a little while but she finally reached the door. She was so concerned about James that she didn't notice the decent-sized dent she made as she banged her fist against it. ”Captain!! I need to speak with you! It's very urgent!! I think something’s wrong with Ja-… uh Commander Crawford.”
Blake looked through the documents before sending a smile to the princess.
"Well, Shannelle, it looks like we need to start moving our forces through the sea as well for a ri-" Just then, a banging sound came through and he frowned.
But that quickly changed as he heard what the person at the door had to say.
"Forgive me, princess." After saying that, he opened the door and rushed outside.
"Speak Lieutenant, what has happened to Commander Crawford?!"
”I don't know exactly but I believe it has to do with his magic, sir.” Liz started with a wide-eyed expression as she was nearly terrified for James. ”He somehow surrounded himself in a black cocoon for hours where he sounded like he was in a lot of pain. Once it vanished he left the med bay very angry. When I asked him what was wrong, he lashed out and destroyed the hall with these black threads that just appeared.” she explained trying to keep her composure despite her head feeling like it was going to explode.
"And no one thought to call me?" Blake answered, his annoyance visible on his face.
"No matter, where is he, do you know?" Blake shook his head before proceeding to ask.
”I think everyone was pretty terrified of what was happening, sir.” Liz explained. ”I'm not sure where he went but I can show you where he destroyed the hallway.” she offered. ”Though, if I may speak freely, sir; if it were me, I would be hiding in my room.”
"First let's hurry towards his room, he might be there." Blake said before hurrying towards the crew quarters.
This really had to happen didn't it
While Blake hurried along, he turned on the radio and voices crackled through.
"Bring the doctors and Elder Helwaz to our location, we have a problem with uncontrollable magic."
"Yes sir," the voice closed the channel and proceeded to their tasks.
Liz followed Captain Blake, the wind around her starting to pick up again as she worried about James. Elder Hel-was? Who is that? she wondered briefly as they reached the crew quarters. ”Has anyone else had problems with their magic before, sir?”
"A few, but most of them were easy to take care of," Blake said, a complex look in his eyes.
"You do know, that if we cant make him come back to his senses. He will have to die…" Blake then looked away.
James, if such a thing ever does happen, I, I'm sorry.
As the two made their way to the crew quarters, an old man with long ears and a wise and kind looking eyes walked towards the two.
"Your roya- Captain Blake, may I ask what you called for" Elder Helwaz asked respectfully.
"Ask Lieutenant Elizabeth. She was the one who informed me of the incident." Blake answered back.
Liz was stunned by hearing Captain Blake say that. The two were supposed to be old friends. Would he really let that happen? Her jaw dropped for a moment at the older man’s appearance but quickly pushed aside her surprise. ”Commander Crawford and myself were unconscious for three weeks due to gaining our magic. We just awoke today and Commander Crawford is not acting like himself. He, unintentionally, used his magic to destroy a section of hallway.” she explained trying to remain calm.
"Do you know Commander James personally?" The man spoke in a hoarse voice.
"Or is his past emotionally unstable? There are many things that could have caused this and with each level of power, its ferocity against their own controller increases. Your power is strong having total control of it, while, I believe James has not let go of his past or is close to doing so."
Liz nodded. ”I have spent time with him since we arrived here and he did mention something from his past that could still be upsetting him.” she suggested. ”But to be honest, sir, I don't even know what kind of magic I have. How can I have any control over it?” she inquired of the Elf. Not to mention the pounding headache I’ve had since I woke up. … Focus on James first, you can deal with it later.
"Control of magic comes from the heart and mind;regarding your power, I believe after we get this matter resolved you two hoomans can get them checked." Helwas spoke before walking quickly into the crew quarters.
Meanwhile…
James growled in pain as tears came out of his eyes, slowly, his mind changed and his personality began to differentiate.
…
Blake hurried along with Helwaz as he thought.
Our lives go in the blink of an eye, yet, we never so think of this.
(Sorry, it took awhile getting back onto this.)
(It's ok)
Liz nodded, keeping up with the two men. ”Thank you, sir.” she replied only partially understanding the explanation. Whatever this guy can do, I hope it’ll be enough to help James. ”Are we very close to Commander Crawford’s quarters?” she asked.
(I think this kinda died…)
"Right here…" Blake swiped his id card and the door slid open to show James on the ground in pain.
(Hello! Glad you’re back!)
As soon as she saw James, Elizabeth wasted no time in getting to his side. “James! Can you hear me? It’s going to be ok. I brought help. You’re going to be alright.” She assured, though it was a little unclear who she was comforting; James or herself.
(Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry, guys! I just realized that I never created my character! I'm so sorry about that!)
(lmao, it's fine. If you want you can do it)
"Liz… I… God it hurts…" He struggled to say words as his body shook.
…..
"Move out the way. He is being overloaded with power.." Helwas rushed to James, and incanted something to calm him down. [Reso nah Mo]
…..
James began to calm down, his breathing becoming normal as he opened his eyes for a second then shut them again. There was something strange about James when he had opened his eyes, they had turned into a spiralling galaxy, filled with raw fury.
….
"He'll be out for a while, Captain Blake, call me if there is any problems," And with that, Helwaz left.
….
Blake commanded his soldiers to bring a stretcher in which they moved James to the Sick Bay.
Liz immediately moved aside as Helwaz took control of the situation. She was still confused by everything that happened in the past few hours but she trusted her Captain. When Helwaz spoke she would almost swear that she felt something calming flow over her. She was a little relieved when James relaxed and seemed to fall asleep, though still concerned for her friend. On one hand, she wanted to stay with James to make sure he was ok… But at the same time, she still had no idea about her own magic or magic in general and that needed to change. ”Captain? Will he be alright? Commander Crawford?” she asked first, having a million questions to ask next.
"Ja- Commander Crawford? Perhaps, I really don't know after the sh*t that's happened these days.." He sighed.
"But don't worry," He forced out a smile and reassured her.
”That makes two of us.” she said under her breath before nodding. ”Yes, sir.” Liz agreed verbally but she would still worry. Maybe later she would go to the Sick Bay and check on James. ”Is there somewhere I can, or should, go to better understand and control my magic? I honestly still don't even know what I can do.” she admitted, not wanting to be a danger to the crew or anyone friendly.
"Ah yes, you may report to deck two, room 111. It's where the professor is, she'll help you." He smiled.
"Just beware, she is… A little too obsessed with magic users.." You could tell from Captain Blake that she was a handful.
”Thank you, sir. I will.” Elizabeth nodded, thankful for the warning before taking the Captain's word as an order. She was nervous as she headed in the direction of that room. The, apparent, magic professor was most likely an eccentric and she had been unconscious for three weeks… Hardly anything had made sense on this planet so far. Ahh… I forgot to mention that weird thing we found in that ”dream”. she realized as she approached the room. Maybe this professor will have answers about that too. Elizabeth wondered as she stood up straight and knocked on the door.
