(I left for a week. And Emi frickin dies)
Aly sat contently on the side of the road licking a daiquiri ice ice team cone and a small smile on her lips. She loved ice cream. She glanced at the others to see how they liked theirs.
(Heh. I blame me.)
(Smiles evilly in the background with a knife.)
(Hm. My murder count this week is up to 3, then.)
Cassie leaned against a light post, eating a chocolate ice cream cone. Ah, chocolate. The cure-all for any occasion.
“I don’t like chocolate ice cream. It doesn’t taste like chocolate.”
(I actually do hate it. I like vanilla tho. I love chocolate milkshakes and hate vanilla milkshakes.)
(You disgust me. Chocolate could cure cancer. Chocolate will take us to space. If chocolate ran for president, I would vote for them. If chocolate wanted to take over the world, I'd become a Chocolateer.)
Cassie frowned. "Why, thank you, for that completely unasked for and unneeded judgement of my taste in ice cream," she said drily, pointedly licking her ice cream.
“It was my pleasure! But seriously, how do you stand that stuff. I’m quite curious.” Alpha spoke without sarcasm she really wanted to know.
"There are these things in your mouth, they're called tastebuds. And, you see, everyone's tastebuds are different. When my tastebuds feel chocolate in my mouth, they notify my brain, and my brain gets very happy. See?" She spoke as though she was talking to a small child, and smiled sarcastically,
Alpha rolled her eyes, “whatever. Chocolate shakes are good though.”
"They are literally made from this exact ice cream," Cassie said frustratedly.
“No they aren’t! It’s not my fault I have heightened senses!”
"Ok. Listen. I don't give two shits about your heightened senses. Chocolate milkshakes are made from chocolate ice cream," Cassie said flatly.
“They taste different!” Alpha exclaimed as she jumped up.
"I didn't say they don't taste different… though they don't. I just said they're literally made from the same thing. You're just too weak to handle full chocolate, you need milk to water it down," she teased.
“It’s not my fault I like different things. I don’t even like tomatoes.”
Cassie shrugged. "I don't either. Why are we talking about tomatoes?"
Vesper stood quietly to the side, chewing on his lower lip slightly. He wasn't exactly sure what was going on. All he knew was that Cassie and Alpha were having what seemed like either an argument or a debate. Or something. He wasn't sure.
“Because my parents are obsessed and I hate them and this argument is reminding me of that.”
Cassie rolled her eyes. "Heaven help me," she muttered. "I'll just eat my ice cream and you eat yours."
“Fine by me-“ at that moment Alphas ice cream fell to the ground. “STARS ABOVE!” The look in her face was horror and way to much sadness, like she lost a loved one.
Karina had just come out with a chocolate strawberry cone of her own and frowned at the sight of Alpha dropping hers. "That's a shame," she said, walking over.
Cassie blinked, then laughed. "Ha. Karma, amirig - DAMMIT!" She had leaned forward and half her ice cream had fallen onto the ground.
Karina nearly chuckled at the two, but wasn't about to jinx herself and get her own treat fed to the concrete. If keeping quiet this once meant securing her ice cream, it was worth it.
Alpha walked over to Cassie and whispered into her ear “Bad karma.” She laughed and bit into her daiquiri flavored cone enjoying what she had left.
Vesper stared at his ice cream for a long moment, then hesitantly ate some of it. Last time he had had some, it hadn't been on a cone. So this was a new experience.
Cassie swatted Alpha's arm and threw the rest of her ice cream in the trash. She never would've finished it, anyway.
