"You're right, I can't," he held his hand. "But I wouldn't have met you if I hadn't done so in the first place."
"You're right, I can't," he held his hand. "But I wouldn't have met you if I hadn't done so in the first place."
Cas smiled softly, turning his gaze back to Sorin. "I love you…"
"I love you too…" He kissed the corner of his mouth. The waiter came back with two small dessert menus and handed it to the both of them.
Cas looked at the dessert menu. "Well, shit. I can't read this one either."
"Like I said before, we'll work on that. Starting tomorrow," he said with a smile and read the dessert items to him.
"What's this?" Cas pointed to a picture of cheesecake.
"It's cheesecake and i'm guessing it's," he narrowed his eyes on the picture. "Strawberry flavored."
"Wanna get it?" Strawberry cheese?? Well, it's probably good if a restaurant is selling it… Cas kept looking at the pictures for a while.
"For me, yes but if you'd like, you can too."
"I probably couldn't eat a full one. I'm not used to eating that much." Cas glanced over at the fish tank again.
"There's a small one. I think it's…it's vanilla ice cream on top of a warm cookie."
"Oooh… okay." Cas looked for the picture.
Sorin scanned the page then flipped it when he couldn't find it. He pointed to the dessert when he spotted it.
"Looks good to me." Cas shrugged, letting Sorin take his menu from him.
Sorin handed the menus to the waiter after he ordered. He turned to Cas. "Cas, if you don't mind me asking… Have you ever tried looking for your mother?"
Cas shook his head. "It would be fruitless. I've no clue what she looks like, and I'm not too interested in finding her anyways. She abandoned me."
"But, have you considered the possibility of her doing it not because she didn't want want you?" Sorin knew he was crossing the line but continued to press. "That is was probably for your own good."
Cas looked away, seeming a bit nervous. "I mean, I-I dunno… I feel like if she wanted me she would've tried to make contact with me by now… she just completely disappeared."
"What if she couldn't?"
Cas was quiet for a few seconds, looking down. "I… I dunno…" His voice broke a bit.
Sorin couldn't help but feel guilty. He had known he crossed the line but let his curiosity drive him to ask more. He lifted Cas's head up and kissed his forehead.
Cas closed his eyes, relaxing slightly when Sorin kissed him.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked," The waiter set their plates down and walked off hurriedly. Sorin suspected his quiet demeanor could be due to the fact he was serving non-humans, but he didn't really care all that much anyways.
"It's okay… I-I asked you about Berenice." Cas looked over at the plates.
Sorin nodded and handed Cas a small spoon. "The chocolate in that cookie might be a little hot…" He took a bite out of his cheesecake and savored it's creamy texture and sweetness.
Cas ate his cookie with the spoon, seeming to calm down again. He kept glancing over at the fish tank.
Sorin noticed his attention fixated on the tank from time-to-time but didn't think much of it. He continued eating his cheesecake.
Once Cas finished his cookie, he just stared at the fish intently, purring.
He's just looking… nothing to worry about, he thought. Sorin only watched him.
Cas fidgeted with his hands, his ears pricked up and his tail twitching.
