"Mia, I don't want to do this! I don't even like the idea of the Games!" Phoenix said.
"Mia, I don't want to do this! I don't even like the idea of the Games!" Phoenix said.
Corian sighed softly, sitting down.
"Phoenix, you will win these. It is in your blood. Now train, please," Mia said.
Phoenix screamed something at her sister that was impossible to make anything out of and stormed out of the training room, done with all of this.
Corian raised his eyebrows, but said nothing.
"Whoa, she has a crazy side…" Jonas said.
"Yeah, one I didn't know existed until now…" Mia said.
Corian shrugged slightly. "Everyone's got one." He replied quietly.
"She's going to get herself killed with that," Mia said.
"We're all going to get ourselves killed." Corian muttered.
"There will be a victor. Actually, two victors," Mia said.
"Well yeah, but everyone else is going to die."
"Yes, but not all of the tributes," Mia pointed out.
"I'll definitely be one of the victors!" Jonas said confidently.
Corian shrugged slightly, closing his eyes. "Doesn't matter."
"Okay, do you even care?" Mia asked.
"Me?" He opened his eyes.
"Do you even care about that chance you have of survival?" Mia asked.
He shrugged. "Should I? I'm only one out of 28. The odds are not in my favor."
"The odds are in someone's favor. They might just be in yours," Mia said.
"They aren't. One of you careers will win, most likely."
"We're training you to be like one," Mia said.
"You can't train to be a career in two weeks." He said.
"You never know," Mia said.
He shook his head. "Nope. The very meaning of the word contradicts it."
Mia sighed. "I'm trying to help…"
He nodded. "I know. I'm just a pessimist, sorry."
"It's fine," Mia said.
Corian shrugged slightly.
"But that isn't allowed in the Games, okay?" Mia said,
"What isn't? Pessimism?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
"I know this. I've experienced this myself and the tributes who were pessimistic never lasted long. Part of it is simply either having a motivation to win, or the positivity to keep you going which creates a motive to win," Mia said.
He shrugged. "Alright, if you say so."
