Meredith laughed with Paisley before blushing very red. ”I’m not that good. I can't write music or even play an instrument.” But I always wanted to try the guitar and I did play a little piano when I was little. ”Beside’s I’ve never had any lessons in singing.” she paused, ”Though I guess I could try out for the choir.” it might be easier if you were there… you don't have to, of course… But it might be nice…
"Oh, I am not a singer, I couldn't even come close to the room, they would kick me out right then and there." Paisley shook her head profusely. I can be here though!
Meredith smiled. If this is the only way they’ll let you support me then… Ok, as long as you don't distract me. she winked. ”What kind of music do you like?”
Paisley winked back out of habit. "I love RnB the most and Khalid is my favorite artist at the moment…" But it'll probably change next week. She smiled, giggling a little. "Have you heard of AJ Mitchell?"
”RnB is some good music.” Meredith agreed with a light chuckle. ”Can’t say that I have heard of AJ Mitchell though.” I know I’ve heard of Khalid but I’m drawing a blank on his actual music…
"Yeah, I thought so, he's a pretty new artist he's also pretty unknown. I would recommend Slow Dance by AJ that's my favorite of his at the moment." Paisley nodded. He's actually pretty popular, I actually bought a vinyl record of his most recent album and it's constantly playing on my record player… I bet my roommates and neighbors are soooo tired of it…
Meredith couldn't help but laugh at the mental image. ”Oh, that's the best. When you drive others crazy with your music. I would love to try that sometime.” I’ll give AJ a listen. ”A vinyl record? Those are making a comeback lately. If I had a player for them I’d buy more.” She smiled as she parked in front of the restaurant.
Oh YES, FOOD! Paisley unbuckled herself and opened the door. She stood by the hood, waiting for Meredith. Oh yeah, you definitely should…
Meredith raised a brow at Paisley’s speed. You move that fast for food, you could try out for the track team. She smiled as she got out of the car and joined her at the front. ”Shall we?” she extended an arm invitingly. oh geez, this is cheesy.
Let's do it! Paisley took Meredith's hand and started walking alongside her. "Yes I'm fast but you are faster. Every two or three steps I take, you take one. My legs would be going soo fast!"
”Nah. I’m just taller. Height doesn't always mean speed. Distance maybe but not always speed.” Meredith smiled opening the door for her.
"True…" Paisley walked through the door, thanking Meredith on the way with a smile.
Meredith smiled, leading them to a booth towards the back but still by the window. Why do you think Dwarves can outrun Elves in open plains?
Paisley giggled. "I actually didn't know that, but it makes some sense." She sat down, looking at the menu.
Meredith chuckled picking up her own menu. ”Yeah, I'm a closet nerd.” she admitted blushing lightly. Our secret? she raises a brow teasing slightly.
Of course. Paisley glanced up with a smile. "I mean, who isn't at least a little nerdy though."
”Yeah, I guess so. Not everyone will admit it though.” Meredith agreed.
”What can I get you, ladies, to drink?” A middle-aged waitress asked, looking over their table.
"Hmm, Can I have your cream soda?" The waitress nodded and turned to Meredith. Paisley smiled and waited for the woman to leave.
”I’ll have a strawberry shake, please.” Meredith smiled.
”Ok. I'll be back with your drinks in a minute.” the waitress recited and headed toward the kitchen.
"Have you ever had their cream soda? It's heavenly!" Paisley tapped her fingers on the table since she had already decided what she was having.
Meredith shook her head. ”I have not but if it's as good as everything else here, then I'll have to try it sometime.” she smiled, still looking over her menu. ”Do you know what you're getting?”
"You could taste mine if you would like!" Paisley scanned the menu again. "I think I'm going to have the Ceasar salad wrap… I had a bite of my brother's once and I really liked it. What about you?"
”If you're offering, sure I’ll try a bite.” Meredith smiled with a shrug. ”I think I’m leaning towards the BLT. It's pretty good.” And I won't make a complete fool of myself compared to a burger. she chuckled a little embarrassed.
"Only the best people make a fool of themselves when eating a burger. And of course, I'm offering a bite." The waiter came back with their drinks, then left. Paisley smiled as she took a sip letting out a breath afterward. "Oh. My. GoSH this is good."
Meredith chuckled, blushing at her momentary forgetfulness. ”Ok, then thank you.” she shrugged, ”Yeah, I guess there really isn't an elegant way to eat a burger. Sometimes it's like you have to be part snake or something and unhinge your jaw to eat one.” She smiled taking a sip from her shake.
"EXACTLY, just embrace the caveman in you," Paisley said, giggling and making sure to wait to take another sip until after she finished laughing.
Meredith barely had a chance to swallow before she snorted at Paisley’s comment. Oh my God! That was close! You almost had milkshake come out my nose. she managed to force the rest of her mouthful down and started laughing at herself and the joke.
Just about doing the same, Paisley quickly gulped down her sip. Thanks a lot for that. She had a big smile on her face trying not to disturb the mostly calm aura of the cafe.
Meredith had her face in her hands and was shaking with silent laughter as she tried to calm down. I’m sorry but that was too funny. I can barely breathe over here.
Oh I know, I'm in the same position! It was true, Paisley was a little red from keeping in her laughter. A waiter was about to take their order but left seeing the condition the two of them were in.
