"For what?" He finished tying the lace and looked up at him then stood up and lent him a hand.
"For what?" He finished tying the lace and looked up at him then stood up and lent him a hand.
"For… um… for being the reason we have to leave early, and for calling you sir…" He tentatively took Sorin's hand.
"There's no reason to apologize. I just… want you to be healthy, is all. You also aren't the reason we have to leave," he jerked his chin towards the guys as he walked passed to which they glared. "They are. The bastards."
Cas nodded and went outside with Sorin, allowing the other to pick him up.
Sorin had an urge to tear them apart, but didn't want to make a scene. He flew up into the air while holding the other close to his chest.
Cas seemed apprehensive when they arrived at the hospital, not wanting to leave Sorin's arms.
The light smell of ethanol clouded his nose. Sorin him down and signed in, not really minding the people who stared. He retracted his wings into his skin and sat down next to Cas.
Cas held his head in his hands, the alcohol smell bothering him. It seemed far stronger to him, and it was giving him a headache.
Sorin lowered his head a bit. "Something wrong?"
"The alcohol… nngh…" Cas rubbed his temples, wincing a bit.
"I don't know if this would help but," he took off his jacket and handed it to Cas. "Here."
"What's this for?" Cas held the jacket, coughing a bit.
"Hold it up to your nose. Not sure if it'll help though." A nurse opened the door holding a clipboard, but she called on someone else instead.
Cas obeyed, still coughing a bit, though it was muffled through the jacket.
Another nurse opened the door. "Casper White?" She called out. Sorin looked over at Cas and said, "I used my last name instead, since… I don't really know yours."
"It's… it's Gibbons." Cas informed Sorin, his voice muffled as he stood up.
He nodded and put an arm around him as they walked inside. The nurse smiled at both of them, something he didn't see quite often when it came to being in the presence of non-humans.
Cas let Sorin lead him into the examining room, still holding the jacket over his nose and mouth. He hadn't taken off the hat or mittens either.
Sorin helped him up the examination table and sat on the chair in front of him. The nurse closed the door and sat down on the desk that was just beside him.
"So, Casper, what seems to be the problem?" She asked.
"Um… we were at the ice skating rink and some guy pushed me. Then I got a chunk of ice stuck in my skin." He turned over his arm so the nurse could see, coughing into the jacket again. "I took the ice out already, though."
"How big was the chunk exactly?"
Cas thought for a moment. "Dunno, like half an inch, maybe. Sharp." He started unraveling the bloodied bandages.
"Alright, not bad. If it were larger, it would've been an issue," she walked over to him and bent down a bit to examine the wound. "Though, this doesn't change the fact that your puncture wound could run risk for infection. Now," she stood upright and headed for the door. "as a nurse practitioner, I am licensed to have you in my care. Wait here for a bit while I go get some things to clean up that nasty wound."
Cas nodded and started coughing again once the nurse left. "G-God, that smell is everywhere…"
"Hey, hey keep it in your nose, okay?" He softly pushed the jacket toward his nose. He gave him a kiss on the top of his head.
"Okay… okay…" He tried to stifle a cough unsuccessfully, his tail puffed up from distress.
Sorin gently patted his back and held him for a long moment until the nurse came, a small tray of bandages, wipes, and a small tube.
Cas coughed into his elbow, his throat starting to get raw. He held the jacket up to his face again as he watched the nurse enter.
The nurse set the tray aside and quickly went over to him. "What's the matter?"
"It's… It's n-nothing…" Cas coughed again before taking off his hat, revealing his ears. "The alcohol smell is just really strong for me…"
