"There, now the other," he smiled softly.
"There, now the other," he smiled softly.
Cas tried to slide his other foot forward, but the blade caught on a dip in the ice and he stumbled.
Sorin bent down to pick him up. The guys he saw before glided past them, snickering and it took every bone in his body not to go run after them.
Cas didn't notice the guys, his legs shaking as he tried to stay upright. One of his ears had come out of his hat and turned back.
"Hey, are you hurt?" He tucked his ear into the hat so it wouldn't get cold.
"No, I-I don't think so." Cas looked up as the guys passed by again, sneering at him. He sighed softly, jumping when his tail hit the ice.
"Good," he stroked his face softly and scowled at all three of them.
"I think I'm ready to keep going…" Cas moved his skate again, sliding closer to Sorin.
"Are you sure? I don't want you to hurt yourself again."
Cas nodded, bringing up his other skate so he and Sorin were pressed together.
Sorin smiled and slid backwards a bit. "Good… good. I trust you can do this, right?"
"Mhmm…" Cas kept slowly following Sorin, seeming to eventually sort of get the hang of it.
His smile became broader as he slid back a bit faster.
After a bit, Cas released Sorin's hands and skated forward, seeming quite pleased with himself. One of the guys came up beside him and pushed his shoulder, causing him to fall backwards. Cas hit the ice hard, dazed, and the guys skated off.
Sorin debated on whether or not to help Cas or go after him. He picked him up and kissed the top of his head. "Are you alright?"
Cas nodded, still a bit disoriented. He looked at his forearm, near his elbow, which was bleeding from a small chunk of ice stuck there.
"Dammit," he examined the wound and slid with him out of the ice. He asked for the worker at the front desk for a first aid kit, but wasn't too sure if it was enough to treat it.
While Sorin was talking to the front desk, Cas just pulled out the piece of ice and watched the wound bleed. "Alright, let's keep going." He tossed the ice into the trash and started wandering off.
Sorin, as well the worker, looked at him questioningly. "Cas, no. That could get infected."
Cas sighed and came back. "Like, it's not even that bad. Sure, it hurts like hell and it's bleeding, but whatever…"
"No," Sorin sighed and watched as the employee opened the kit and put on blue gloves. "Infections are terrible."
Cas shied away from the employee when his arm was touched. The employee carefully wrapped his arm with a bandage. "There. That's about I'll I can do here." He put the kit away. "If you need more treatment, you'll need to go to an actual doctor."
He sighed and took his figure skates, handing them to the employee in turn for his shoes. "He's right, you need to go to a doctor." He tied the laces of his sneakers.
"What? Nooo!" Cas turned away. "I don't want to. I'm fine."
"Casper."
Cas fell silent at the use of his full name. "Y-Yes, sir…" He replied quietly, not noticing his mistake as he took off his skates.
He shook his head. "No, you don't call–" He ran his fingers through his hair. "Listen, i'm doing this because it's for your own good." Sorin bent down and helped him take off his skates, ignoring the snickering from behind him.
Cas sat on the bench silently with his gaze averted. He let his hands loosely clasp into his lap, a faint blush rising to his pale cheeks.
Sorin grabbed his shoes and put them on his small feet, double knotting the laces to make sure it wouldn't come loose.
"I'm sorry…" He mumbled, still looking away at some unknown person or thing. He caught a glimpse of the boys in the corner of his eye and turned his head the other way.
