Running deeper and deeper into the darkness, letting his flashlight guide him as he took each step.
"Hey!!! Let her go and i won't have to shoot you!"
He says loudly, and rather harshly. His voice scratching our of his throat, booming and echoing throughout the place.
The man looked behind him, seeing light coming behind him. He darted around a corner and through a gate. He dropped Penelope, taking off his hood. It turned out she wasn't blindfolded because light filled the room after the sound of a switch. She rapidly blinked both adjusting to the light and trying to blink away the still-strong stream of tears. Looking up, she instantly recognized her captor's face. He gave her a not-so-friendly smile, causing Penelope to crawl back into a corner. Her breath was as fast as the second hand on a clock.
Running up to the sound of a thud he turned the corner near the gate and saw them as he shun the light on them.
Penelope!! Are you all right?!"
He says glancing over to her, pointing the gun at the man who took her.
Penelope looked up upon hearing her name, jumping up immediately and clinging onto Eli, tears still streaming, heartbeat still rapid, and breath still shallow. There was nothing that could stop her from holding onto of Elijah.
His heart felt as if its been tied into a knot as she clung onto him.
Immediately he shot he guys leg with almost perfect aim, covering penelopes ear that wasn't against his chest as he did.
"Let's find your bike."
He says holding her rightly as the man fell to the floor.
"No no no-" Penelope couldn't say anything else, her voice incredibly quiet and still full of fear. She was still shaking unable to move much more than she already had. She was sobbing into Eli's chest, soaking his shirt.
"Okay okay. We can leave."
He says holding her close to his chest. He could feel his own heartbeat thwacking against his chest, sure Penelope could hear it.
"Let's go home then…okay?"
He says softly as he stroked her hair, kissing the top of her head.
Penelope nodded into Elijah's chest, still clutching onto him as if for her life. Her mind was going to fast to notice a heartbeat. The only thing she fully knew was that she was holding onto Eli and she felt safe with him. "T-thanks…"
"Okay….here are you hurt? I can carry you."
He says bending down to her height, wiping a tear from her cheek and kissing her forehead softly.
Penelope shook her head. "L-let's… let's g-go…" She looked into Eli's eyes, glancing to his lips for a split second them back up to his eyes, hoping he didn't notice. She hugged him again, her shaking had calmed down, but her heartbeat was still pretty fast.
"Oh I'm so sorry. Youre okay now."
He says with a whisper, moving her hair out of her face and behind her ear, though cursing himself in his thoughts. He officially hated himself now.
(Just a question, did you delete the rp that you started yesterday? I can't find it)
(No i didnt….well I don't think I did. Here I'll go post something on it real quick)
"No need to be sorry… I pulled you into this…" Penelope looked down, her face tear-stained. "Thank you…" She said in a quiet voice, remembering what had just happened.
Letting out a heartbroken sigh as he pulled her close to his chest holding her tightly. He didn't want to let go. That was the very last thing on his list of to-dos, which wasn't even on a list of to-dos. But he knew he had to.
"Okay let's go."
He says grabbing her hand and walking towards the entrance.
Penelope gripped Eli's hand, staying very close to his side again. She had no intention of letting go of his hand any time soon or leaving his side for that matter. She felt really bad for bringing Eli into that mess.
As they headed outside, Eli holding her hand as they walked out, the light entering their pupils as he squinted. Harley looked at the two, running over to them and cursing under her breath, then smacking Eli in the head.
"What the h*ll did you do!??"
She says annoyed, then she looked at Penelope and her heart dropped.
"Did he hurt you?! What happened?"
Penelope shook her head. "N-no… I… there was a guy and… he tried to kidnap me… and… Eli, he was right there to help…" Her breath was speeding up again as she recalled the events that had just happened. Tear stains were still very prevalent on her face. The memories were also coming back, making her tense up again.
Hugging her once again, Eli kisses the top of her head as he held her.
"It's okay."
Harley stepped back and leaned against the car, about to open the door.
Penelope clung onto Elijah, listening to his heartbeat which seemed to always calm her down. She closed her eyes and tried to take a deep breath, failing as it was still pretty shallow.
"Let's calm down in the car. It's not safe out here."
He says with a whisper, not wanting to let go of her.
"Harley, you're driving"
He says turning his head to her. He was just going to sit in the back seat with Penelope to hold her, just calm her down and make sure she's alright.
"Got it"
She says quickly hopping in the driver's seat as she started the car, waiting for them to get in.
Penelope stayed engulfed in Eli's arms as they went to the back seat together. After getting inside the car, she leaned her head on his shoulder, arms still wrapped around him. "I'm… I'm so s-sorry…"
"Don't be at all. It wasn't your fault. If anything I should be the one saying sorry"
He says turning to her ever so slightly, letting her head rest on his chest as his rather big arms (compared to her anyway) wrapped around her.
Penelope shook her head but stayed quiet. She really enjoyed being this close to Eli, it felt like they were supposed to be this close like they were made for each other. It did make sense because they are soulmates, but Penelope wasn't thinking about that which was probably for the best at that point.
Eli had felt this intense sense of protectiveness over her ever since she had fallen off of the now-empty slate of stone in the middle of the town square. And ever since then, it's only grown and grew for her. He assumed that was just him feeling bad for her for a few minutes, but he began to realize that it was probably more than that the more he thought about it.
He closed his eyes as he held her, the road became less and less rough and the ride had begun to feel allot smoother as they got onto the normal road.
By then, Penelope had calmed down completely. Her breathing matched Elijah's and she was listening to his chest. She was very close to falling asleep, it would be just a matter of seconds before she actually did.
Harley had looked back at the two, noticing the fact that she was tired, she decided to drive around town and maybe looking for a place to eat lunch at as Eli stroked Penelope's soft hair as she was held in his arms.
Penelope shifted ever so slightly, now fully asleep. Her arms were loose around Eli, but they were there nonetheless. Her breath was soft and calm moving a strand of hair every breath out.
Pulling up to a fancy restaurant about five minutes later, Elijah couldn't fall asleep so he just held her as they drove.
"We're here. Hope you don't mind I decided that we should go out to eat maybe."
She says unbuckling and reaching to open the door.
"Wake your girlfriend up too."
She says turning around to look at them, but only for a second before getting out.
"Hey…..Penelope."
He says in a honey-sweet, gentle and soft voice as he ran his fingers through his soft hair.
Penelope, hearing his voice, slowly opened her eyes. It took a while before she could actually hold open her eyes. She smiled, seeing Elijah's face. Sluggishly, she sat up all the way kind of keeping her arms around him. "Good morning." She said quietly with a sleepy smile.
