“So what do you do in your spare time?” Ian asked. “I mean, up until today I’d only seen you at school and it wasn’t as if we ever really talked much.”
“So what do you do in your spare time?” Ian asked. “I mean, up until today I’d only seen you at school and it wasn’t as if we ever really talked much.”
Cassie shrugged. "I read a lot. I do some acting occasionally."
“Acting? Like in movies?” Ian queries, clearly surprised but also somewhat impressed.
Cassie hesitated. "Er, yeah. I've done a few shows. Nothing major, just a few small roles," she assured him quickly.
“Can we watch them?” Ian asked earnestly, his eyes shining. “But if it makes you too uncomfortable, we don’t have to,” he added after a few beats.
Cassie visibly cringed. "God, I hate watching myself act, but um… there's a few on Netflix," she turned on the tv and switched to Netflix to find the shows.
“You are seriously the coolest,” Ian said, smiling. He hardly interacted with anyone outside of his exclusive friend group, so this felt nice.
Cassie snorted. "No, I'm not. Ok, I was in a few episodes of this one," she clicked on the show and scrolled through the episodes until she found the right one.
“That’s exactly what I’m talking about; you’re so cool and you can’t see it,” Ian explained. “It’s because you can’t see it that makes you cool.” He repeated his words in his head, cringing. It was true that he admired that she and Nagi had their own version of coolness, not seeming to care much about the opinions of others, but he would never admit it. Except, of course, he just did. He blushed, ready to tell Cassie to forget it, but didn’t open his mouth. He kind of wanted to see her reaction first.
Cassie blushed and laughed quietly. "Okay, shut up so you can see my shitty acting."
“I’m so ready to see your great acting,” he replies, a teasing grin back on his face after the moment of candor.
Cassie scoffed, groaning when she saw herself come on screen. "Look away from the horrors."
“Why would I look away?” he teased. “I asked to see the horrors.” He actually thought that she didn’t do half bad.
((What happened? I'm sorry stuff happened so I haven't been on today))
"Ughhhh, it's disgusting," she buried her face in a pillow. "At least I'm not sobbing in this one," she muttered.
Ian chuckled. “I don’t see why you hate it so much,” he said. “I think you’re doing well.”
(Nagi and Kaori are eating lunch together and Ian and Cassie are at Cassie’s house)
"You don't understand, there's not a single actor that likes their acting," she paused. "Maybe some of the actually good ones."
“Stop it, you are actually good,” Ian responded with a light-hearted grin.
Cassie shook her head. "Okay, I'm not in the rest of this episode. Now I can calm down."
“Awww,” Ian said, pretending to pout. Then he stopped talking and just watched the show for a bit.
Cassie sighed and leaned back, crossing her arms. She had the constant urge to keep up a running commentary, but knew that would be annoying.
After the show ended, Ian turned to her. “That was good, and don’t try to argue because you can’t change my mind,” he said, smiling.
Cassie rolled her eyes. "Okay, I'm never doing that again," she announced.
“I guess I’ll just have to watch the rest on my own then,” Ian teased.
Cassie groaned. "You'd better not tell me about them, unless it's criticism."
“Fine, I won’t tell you,” Ian replied. “But if you become famous, don’t forget me.”
Cassie laughed, rolling her eyes. "Okay, then."
“So what are we going to now if you won’t watch any more of that?” Ian inquired.
Cassie shrugged emphatically. "I have no idea."
