He chuckled, taking another bite. "It's fine."
He chuckled, taking another bite. "It's fine."
She reached inside her pocket and pulled out the note she wrote last night. She suddenly also remembered the deal she made with Winter. "Hey, aren't you supposed to be acting recklessly?" She grinned at him.
He shrugged. "What's reckless?" He asked with a smirk.
Astra laughed. "Nice try. You made a deal."
He sighed. "Fine."
She smiled smugly at him and took his wrapper, throwing it in the trash. "So, we need to do a bunch of fun things today. Is there anything you've been wanting to do, but you were too conserved to do it?"
He shook his head. "Not really. I'm kind of a boring person." He said.
"That's an understatement." She muttered, pausing for a minute. "What about that one person? That we saw at the haunted mansion?"
Winter stiffened. "Not important." he said quickly.
Astra raised an eyebrow at his quick response. "You hiding something?" She chuckled.
"Nope." He said, leaning back. Yes.
"Who was that, then?"
"Uhmmm…some weirdo." Winter replied with a shrug.
"He knew your name. How is he some random guy?" She got closer to him, her arms crossed.
He shrugged. "I don't know."
"…Didn't he say something about me breaking you?" She leaned down, coming face to face with him.
He looked at her impassively. "Maybe." He replied.
"He did." She squinted her eyes at him. "…Is he why you act so careful all the time?" Astra would always jump to conclusions. Most of the time, they were at least half correct.
He looked away. "Maybe."
She rolled her eyes. "Hiding secrets from me doesn't exactly bode well for our friendship." She returned to her original stance and walked to the bathroom, not caring what he did while she was in there.
He shrugged. "Okay." He replied simply, stretching.
Astra had taken a quick shower and gotten ready for the day, and she walked out to see if Winter had stayed or left.
Winter was on the couch, on his phone.
She was tempted to peek around his shoulder. Very tempted. But she decided that would be a bad idea. "Did- did you want to take a shower or something?"
Winter looked up, turning his phone off. "Hmm? Oh, no, I'm fine." He said with a small smile.
She clasped her hands together, not sure what to say. "Um," she felt awkward the more she thought about the situation. I can't believe my house is so messy. What possessed me to let him in?! "Sh-should we do something?"
He shrugged. "Sure." He replied, looking at her. "What do you want to do?"
God, I don't know! All I do is drink! She scratched her head with a mindless gaze, trying to think of something. "We could go to um…" she trailed off and sighed. "I don't know. An aquarium?" She suggested with no confidence behind it.
Winter shrugged. "Sure. Sounds interesting." He replied, standing.
She smiled. "Cool! Let me just-" she grabbed a sweater and started to walk out the door.
