"Not for the rest of my life, though." He added.
"Not for the rest of my life, though." He added.
She put her hands in her head and groaned. "Okay, for how long then?"
"Two days." He replied with a shrug.
"Five." She squinted at him, hoping he would be intimidated by it. In truth, she just looked cute and kind of stupid
Winter chuckled softly. "Two." He replied.
"Six!" It almost seemed like she was taunting him.
"One." He said calmly, as if bargaining.
"Nooo!" She wailed, acting like a child. "Three!"
"Two." He said, going back up.
"Fine. Two! You start tomorrow." She held out her hand, waiting for him to shake it.
He shook her hand. "Fine." He agreed.
"Good!" She got up using the table for balance. "And if you don't keep your promise then I get to break your hand." Astra had mixed up a pinky promise and a handshake
His eyes widened. "Uhm. What?" He asked.
"You heard me." She threw away her now empty bottle in the trash. "Anyway, I have some bad news for you."
He raised an eyebrow. "And what would that be?" He asked, looking at her.
"You can't go home until morning." She shrugged, and turned around, tripping and falling onto her couch.
"why not?" He asked, watching her with amusement.
"Jchuaantwowkuhwohnahhnigh,"she mumbled into the couch. Realizing her voice was muffled, she turned her head to the side. "You can't walk alone at night. It's dangerous."
"I can handle it." He replied with a shrug. I can't die, so…
"No way." She sat up and glanced at him. "I can't let you out there. You'd get robbed. Or worse, killed."
He chuckled softly. She has no idea. "Really. I'd be fine." He replied.
She laughed. "You say that. And you do look like you could take care of yourself, but I ain't taking that risk."
He sighed. "Fiiiine. Where do I sleep?" He asked.
Her jaw dropped. Did he actually just agree to that? "Uh, you can have the couch," she got up, obviously surprised by his answer. "It's comfier than it looks."
He nodded, plopping down. "Alright." He replied.
She stumbled over to the closet and pulled out a fluffy pillow and a thick blanket. She handed them to him. "You need anything else? A lullaby?" She chuckled.
He rolled his eyes. "Nope." He set the blanket and pillow on the couch.
Astra smirked and leaned down close to his face, like she was about to kiss his forehead. He looks like my little brother. Memories of her tucking in her sibling rushed through her head. "Goodnight, dear."
Not even two seconds before the two words slipped out of her mouth, she realized how close she was, and quickly pulled away. "Oh god, I'm sorry." She ran away to her bedroom completely embarrassed, locking the door behind her.
Winter's eyes went wide, and he blushed slightly. "Cad é an ifreann a bhí ann?" He said, then blinked, and repeated himself in English. "What the hell was that about?"
Astra sunk down in fear and embarrassment and pulled her hair. I cannot believe that I just did that. She sighed and trudged her way to her bed, collapsing on it. A shame I can't turn back time.
