Hunter followed Milo, chewing on his lower lip. Lexi just broke up with him. And Hunter felt like he might throw up because of it.

Since the fair was at the football field, it was honestly really easy to find somewhere else. But Milo was a tech person in the announcer box sometimes, so he had a key. He lead Hunter into the box. Before he sat down on one of the chairs he locked the door. He was quiet, nervously waiting for Hunter to speak.

Hunter sat down, just taking a moment to breathe before mumbling, “Lexi broke up with me.” He felt so… defeated. His anger seemed to seep out of him with every breath, like he just didn’t have the energy anymore.

Milo honestly didn't know what to say. He didn't know whether to feel bad or to not care. All this time Hunter was his bully and Hunter wanted nothing to do with him, but he seemed so… vulnerable. "I… uh… I'm sorry…" Milo said softly, but hesitantly. Most of his worry was gone, but he was still a little on edge.

Hunter looked down at the faint glow in his chest, “What are we supposed to do, about this?” He asked, pointing at his chest. At first he thought he could just ignore it, but now he saw that wasn’t the case. Hunter never thought he’d find a soulmate in his lifetime, yet here he was, chest alight like a star. He still didn’t know what to think of it just yet.

Milo lightly sighed. "I… I don't know…" He looked down at his hands. Maybe they could be friends? He didn't want to suggest it, after all, Hunter had been his bully for years, it would definitely stir up some drama if they were suddenly friends. And it's not that easy to befriend the person that has been basically torturing Milo. There was one thing that he knew, things would be very different between the two of them.

“I hate feeling like this… feeling like I can’t control what’s happening to me. To us.” Hunter confessed softly, opting to stare at his shoes rather than at Milo. He waited to be laughed at, to be called a wimp. He deserved it, after all.

Milo nodded. "I mean… I haven't really been in control of anything, so I wouldn't know how you feel, exactly. But uh, I do understand how different it would be for you…" He felt like that was the best opportunity to get Hunter back for everything he had done to Milo, but he wasn't that kind of person. He was probably to nice for his own good.

Hunter glanced up at Milo and took a deep breath before finally saying, “I’m- I’m sorry. About…” Punching you, making you do my homework, making fun of you… “everything.” The words felt strange on his tongue at first, but not in a particularly bad way.

Milo's head shot up to look at Hunter in confusion. "W-what?" All this time Hunter had done the worst of the worst and Milo thought it would never change, but here he was apologizing. "I uh… thanks…" Milo wanted to forgive him, he was a naturally forgiving person, but he felt like that would be putting Hunter off easily. He smiled a little and he rested his eyes on Hunter's glowing chest.

Hunter glanced back out towards the fair, sighing. He looked at his wrist band, “Well this was probably a waste of money, I should go.” Despite how Hunter wanted to hang out around the fair, he’d just look lame if he was alone. “Unless you’d want to go on a few rides with me?” Hunter joked, although if he was being honest with himself he’d much rather go with the nerd than leave without even going on one ride.

Milo smiled, very surprised at Hunter's offer. "Um… sure!" He was not the biggest fan of the rides, but he would ride them. He stood up and opened the door, holding it open for Hunter.

Hunter stared at him, wide eyed. Out of all the responses Milo could have given him, that was the least expected. He stood, still at loss for words as he exited. Hunter’s mouth finally managed to forms words after a few moments, “I… thanks.”

Deleted user

Milo smiled with a nod. "No problem." He said as he closed and locked the door. He turned to Hunter. "So, uh, which one first?"

Deleted user

Milo looked over to the ride Hunter was talking about. He took a breath. "Um… sure… Let's… let's go." He waited to let Hunter go ahead, nervous about that particular ride.

Hunter began walking, but made sure to put his hood over his head as they walked closer to more people. He didn’t know how his friends would react if they saw him and the nerd walking to go on a ride together. Hunter shook the thought away once they got in line, and Hunter flashed the man his wristband. “Where do you want to sit?” Hunter asked Milo, nodding towards the ride.

Milo kept his head down a bit, not wanting people to notice him walking around with the football player. He showed the man his helper's pass and turned to Hunter. "Um… Maybe there?" He pointed to the middle hoping it would be less scary than the front.

Deleted user

“Alright,” Hunter slipped into the seat and waited for Milo to sit next to him. It was a little tight, but not uncomfortable. Hunter buckled himself in. It didn’t look like anyone he knew was on the ride, so that was a relief.

Deleted user

Milo hesitantly sat in the seat next to Hunter. He buckled himself in, now more nervous about the ride than before. Just 2 hours ago he would have never even dreamed of sitting next to Hunter on a ride. he sighed and closed his eyes for a bit as he felt the ride start.

A smile creeped onto Hunter’s lips when the ride began to sway. Part of him forgot how he was on this ride with Milo, the nerd. The ride began moving faster, almost enough to go completely upside down.
(So do you want to do the cliché thing when the ride gets stuck for like a couple hours and they’re forced to sit there and get to know each other?)

Deleted user

(Of course! XD how will it work on this rid though?)
Milo clamped his hands onto the closest thing he could find, which happened to be Hunter, and he shut his eyes tight. His breath was a bit faster than it should be, he was trying to calm it down, but that wasn't working very well. So maybe he was afraid of these rides, but he could never tell Hunter that.

Deleted user

(I just imagine them hanging upside down, but that wouldn’t really work until one of them faints XD What if they were hanging sideways, like it stopped midway between the top and bottom so they’d be leaning back on the seat? And there could be like a problem in the track or something that causes it to stop)

Hunter was bit surprised at Milo’s reaction. He had been oblivious about Milo’s nervousness until now. “Uh, hey-“ Hunter was jerked forward in his seat, the ride screeching to a halt.

Deleted user

(Sounds good to me!)
Milo was jerked back, keeping his eyes closed. "A-are… is the r-ride over?" He said still clutching onto Hunter for dear life. He felt them being forced back into the seat, and that wouldn't be happening if the ride was done. Hesitantly, he opened his eyes to see that they were stuck halfway up the side.

Hunter stared at Milo for a second, surprised. “I…” For some reason he had to take a moment to remember how to think straight, “It’s okay, we’re okay. Everything is going to be fine,” Hunter quickly reassured Milo, even going so far to awkwardly put an arm over Milo’s shoulders. There were already people on the ground going to get help.

Deleted user

Milo attempted to calm himself down by taking deep breaths, who knows how well it was working though. He slowly leaned into Hunter a bit, not really thinking about what he had done before. This was pretty out of the ordinary for Milo. He never rode on the rides, nonetheless with his past bully.

Deleted user

“We’re going to be fine. Help is probably already on the way,” Hunter said softly. For a moment, it wasn’t just him and the nerd. It was him and Milo, and deep down a feeling sprung up in Hunter’s chest. He shook it away, trying to jut focus on making sure Milo was okay for the time being. “Umm, just tell me about the quiz bowl team or something,” Hunter told Milo, hoping to distract him from their predicament.

Deleted user

Milo nodded, fixing his gaze on the super bright glow still coming from Hunter's chest, letting a butterfly or two into his stomach. "Um… well…" He closed his eyes thinking for a second. "I mean, there's not much to talk about… I mean we only really practice answering questions for tournaments…" His voice was quiet since he was still pretty afraid being on the ride.

Deleted user

“Is our school’s quiz bowl team good? Forgive me, the only sport teams I follow are football and hockey,” Hunter let out a laugh, smiling encouragingly at Milo. If Hunter was being honest with himself, he didn’t mind Milo hugging onto him. For some reason, Hunter’s chest seemed to glow a tad bit brighter at the thought. Thankfully the people around them were too worried about the ride stopping to notice.

Deleted user

Milo laughed a little. "That makes sense… but yeah we're pretty good! We place most of the time. At one championship we got second and the was the first time since… a while I think." He smiled remembering that day, it was still one of his favorite memories. Relaxing a bit, Milo seemed to sink closer to Hunter. He had no idea why he felt like he could do that, but he didn't fully realize what he was doing.
