At least I find solace and comfort in school… I gave a tiny smile to myself. Nah, the rafters are too unstable. I'll be better off in the attic where no-one goes. I dragged a small blanket and a pillow up to the attic. Facing the ceiling, I found I couldn't go to bed. Sleep was what I did when I was bored, or sad, or angry, or whatever. I walked down the stairs to the main part of the house. Maybe I'd just wander the halls of the house a bit. I didn't even care that I'd be walking in a square, I just wanted to walk.

I jumped at the sound of the knock. Who would be here at such a late hour? Running to the door, she peeked through the eye hole (idk what to call it lol) and saw a strange man she'd never seen before. "Hello?" I called out cautiously. "Who are you?"
