“No?” Arvil murmured, leaning down a little more till their noses brushed. “Then what of those teasing touches? Those looks she keeps sending his way?”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“Teasing touches? Looks she sends his way? What about the looks and touches her husband gives her?” Daisy shot back, a bit breathlessly. She tilted her head just enough that their noses bumped together again. “What about the way he speaks to her? The things he says?”

Arvil’s eyes darkened considerably, but he was glad it was dark. She might not have noticed.

“That’s who he is. That’s what his wife’s actions make him do,” he answered, his fingers brushing against her side, “He has to live with the little that he has.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“His wife isn’t trying to be a tease… Not usually,” Daisy added the last part under her breath, though she should have realized they were close enough he would probably hear it anyway… And he has a lot more than he thinks he does…

Arvil let out a chuckle, his mind screaming at him to pull away but his body saying something else.

“No, she’s always a tease,” he told her in a low voice. “Even when she’s not trying to be.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“How? She’s just… trying to get through life,” Daisy breathed, her arms wrapping around Arvil’s shoulder to give extra support in keeping her up. “She doesn’t know what she’s doing anymore half the time.”

“He’s attracted to her, it seems,” the words slipped out of his mouth before he could stop them, but Arvil didn’t regret it. It wasn’t a confession. Just an honest truth. “So it’s rather easy for her to do what she does.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Daisy froze at his words, her lips popping open again in shock. He was… attracted to her? That shouldn’t have come as such a surprise as it did, what with how he acted around her, that is…

She shook her head, looking down and pulling away a bit. After a second, she simply let out a soft groan as she leaned in again and buried her face in his neck.

’M attracted to you, too…” she managed to mumbled into him.

Hearing those words lit a spark Arvil didn’t know even existed. His body burned at her words, but he knew it was normal. People were attracted to each other. It didn’t mean she liked him.

When she buried her face in his neck, he tightened his hold on her.

“Good to know,” he murmured. “Definitely.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Daisy nodded slowly, releasing a breath against him and shifting slightly to make herself a bit more comfortable.

“Maybe… we should go dry off…? And then head back?” she suggested gently without pulling away.

Arvil nodded against her, running his hand through her wet hair.

“You haven’t enjoyed your swimming yet,” he murmured. “We… got distracted.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Wish we could have gotten more distracted… Twice today we’ve almost kissed and then just didn’t. It’s incredibly annoying.

“Right… I think I’ve had enough of the water for now, though,” she mused quietly, pulling back just enough to look at him. “Plus, you don’t like having wet clothes, so the sooner you dry off, the sooner you’ll be happier, right?”

Arvil closed his eyes and released a breath before he opened them again.

“We’ll come back tomorrow, then,” he said, though he didn’t let go of her. “And yes, the sooner I change, the comfortable I’ll feel.”

A shiver broke through Arvil at her action, but her words made him chuckle.

“You first.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“But… that involves moving,” Daisy groaned dramatically, her arms tightening around his shoulders. “C’mon, can’t you carry me now? Or do you only do that when I’m not expecting it?”

Deleted user

Arvil shook his head, laughter escaping his lips.

“All right, drama queen,” he chuckled, standing up and pulling her along as well. Then he bent down and picked her up in his arms. “Happy?”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Daisy laughed with Arvil as he picked her up. She should have expected him to, but she hadn’t.

“Yeah, I’m happy,” she said, smiling against his shoulder as she tightened her grip even more.

Her laughter was like music to his ears. Arvil grinned down at her and nuzzled the side of her head.

“That’s good,” he murmured and began to walk out of the water. “I want you to be happy.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Daisy hummed, looking around the best she could. Her gaze drew back to Arvil, and she gave him a small smile.

“So… How’s the ‘honeymoon’ been for you so far?” she asked, looking up at him from his arms.

Deleted user

“It has its unexpected moments, but…” Arvil looked down at her as he walked closer to where they had discarded their clothes, “It’s enjoyable.”

Deleted user

“Oh, no, Daisy,” Arvil smiled down at her, “You’ll be wearing it in my arms. And then we’ll be covering you up with my shirt.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“Arvil! That thing cover me up plenty. You should put your shirt on,” Daisy protested, purposely avoiding looking at his bare chest. “I don’t want you to catch a cold while we’re here.”

Deleted user

“I won’t catch a cold, darling. Secondly, it did not,” Arvil said, and stopped when they reached their items. “Your legs were not covered, and they’re very distracting. Don’t you know that?”

Deleted user

“You can wear whatever you like, Daisy, and I will have no problem with it,” he started softly and let her down on her feet so she could wear her coverup, “But that does not mean I’m not distracted by your appearance. You are beautiful, Daisy.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

His earlier words came back to her, soft and gentle in her mind.

”He’s attracted to her, it seems…”

Daisy nodded slowly as she bent down to pick up her coverup. She pulled it back on, then wrapped her arms around herself.

“I didn’t realize that,” she murmured, a bit flustered by his words. How could she have known that she was distracting to him? How could she be so distracting to him in the first place?

Deleted user

“You’d like that though, wouldn’t you?” Arvil shot her a smirk as he picked up his shirt, pulling it over himself. “Distracting me with yourself.”
